== Biography ==
Kiyotaka Iida is from Chiba Prefecture<ref>Twitter account</ref>. He was first active as an animator in 1993, being credited as in-between animation in anime series ''[[wikipedia:Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle|Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle]]''. He became affiliated with [[wikipedia:Studio Comet|Studio Comet]] in the same year and was credited for the first time as key animation in ''[[wikipedia:Black Jack (manga)|Black Jack]]''. He continued being active throughout 1993 and 1994 but was last credited that year as in-between animation in ''[[wikipedia:Samurai Shodown: The Motion Picture|Samurai Shodown: The Motion Picture]]''. He returned in 1998, being credited as key animation and assistant animation director in episode 1 of ''[[wikipedia:Initial D|Initial D]]''. Active in 1999, he disappeared before making a breakthrough by becoming animation director in 2001-2002 series ''[[wikipedia:Ask Dr. Rin!|Ask Dr. Rin!]]''. He has since then been active sporadically as an animator while being affiliated with Studio Comet and sometimes being featured as a freelancer.

Iida first worked with ''Detective Conan'' in 2016, by becoming a key animator for movie 20, [[The Darkest Nightmare]]. He returned the next year, becoming animation director in the 21st movie [[The Crimson Love Letter]], credited with Studio Comet. He has not returned since.

Since the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, he has been working remotely.
