			Heiji, Kazuha, Ran, Conan, and Kogoro (who is tagging along worrying that the kids could be in danger) are going to Mt. Washio, famous for its scenery, when it rains. They are lucky to be welcomed and allowed to stay until the rain is over by the chief priest of the shrine Kogoro happens to found. However, they also accidentally get dragged into a case involving the crimson skeleton, a monster that is said to take away wrongdoers and leave only empty corpses behind, when Kogoro suddenly goes missing, and the appearance of will-o'-the-wisps that are said to be connected to the monster leads everyone to the body of another priest who has been missing for 5 days. Conan then receives a message from Kogoro informing him of his location and condition, from which he and Heiji untie him and have him wait for the culprit attempting to escape after being exposed by the two. But he ends up forgetting to confess his feelings to Kazuha after the case is over.
