== Appearance ==
Oshima is an old man of average height with short grey hair. Like Genta Kojima, he is overweight, which results in him being unathletic and quickly short of breath, although being able to run is a great feat for someone his age. He is shown wearing his trademark tan jacket and white t-shirt and grey trousers.

== Personality ==
Oshima is shown to be a jovial man, although a bit slow, and is rather clumsy in his demeanor. He self describes himself as a glutton.

== Plot overview ==

After helping a local woman retrieve her stolen bicycle along with the other Silver Detectives, Oshima meets the Detective Boys and everyone later gathers at a park, where he explains who he is and checks out Genta, who he says is similar to him. Later, they discover a body in a traditional house and he accidentally contaminates the crime scene, knocking over a fish bowl and crushing a plate of cookies on the coffee table. He is convinced by Tokunaga to testify to the police that they saw a suspicious man earlier, who he describes as a "tall man". They later stumble upon more evidence supporting the theory about the suspect they seemingly saw. The Detective Boys were not convinced and thus investigate and learn the truth about the case. They confront the Silver Detectives and make everyone realize they convinced themselves that they saw that suspect and that in fact there was no such person, shocking Oshima. Later, they go to the house of the victim and realize they were played by Tokunaga to help him forge his alibi and tamper the crime scene so evidence of his presence would not be suspicious. Despite being betrayed, he does not seem to worry and offers to accompany Tokunaga to the police station so he can confess.

Later, with no leader, all three Silver Detectives decide to become the Detective Boys' apprentice, with Oshima notably proposing to buy Genta eel bowls.

The Silver Detectives are back, seemingly over the loss of their previous leader, and this time with Akasaka leading the team. However, they are involved in another impossible crime case.

* His first name "Ginta" is ponetically similar to "Genta" and his last name "Oshima", meaning "big island", is the opposite of Genta's, "Kojima", which means "small island".
* As his first voice actor Yu Shimaka died in 2019, in his second appearance in 2026, Oshima is voiced by Ryuzaburo Otomo.
