After the chess match, fearing that something was wrong, Amanda lied to Asaka and told her that she left the knight piece in Kohji's room. After Asaka leaves to get the chess piece in Kohji's room, Rum arrives at Amanda's room with the intention of forcing her to help the Black Organization. Amanda remembers Rum as a child from 50 years ago at Karasuma Renya's birthday party. Rum tells her that he knows her weakness is her bodyguard, Rachel Asaka, and that if they get their hands on her, then Amanda will be forced to help the Black Organization. To lure her out, Rum will threaten Amanda with a drug the organization created. This however backfires on Rum as Amanda intentionally eats the drug out of his hands so that they don't use her to find Asaka. Due to the drug, Amanda dies but not before leaving a dying message using her wristwatch and a knight piece<ref>[[Case from 17 years ago]].</ref>.
