Kumada's first participation in the ''Detective Conan'' anime was in 2005, starting with the 2nd part of [[Sword of the Eight-Headed Serpent]].

In 2009, Kumada returned to the anime production team, but this time, under the name of Studio Wanpack. In which he served as key animator and animation director under the episodes done by the studio. His drawing quality was apparently higher than the fellow animators affiliated with Studio Wanpack at that time. In 2012, due to Studio Wanpack had gotten disbanded, Kumada's involvement in the ''Detective Conan'' had lowered significantly. His most recent work in the anime was the 1st part of [[Kaitou Kid and the Trick Box]] from 2018.
