Situation
Aso Part
In a dark room, a thief is frantically looking through an office for something. When he finds it, he smiles and cuts open a teddy bear.

The next day, the Detective Boys go to Kumamoto with Ran and Kogoro for a sightseeing trip. Kumamoto is known as the capital of water for its amazing water sources, but it's also known as the country of fire for its volcanoes. The group arrives at the Aso Volcano museum, where Ran bumps into a boy, named Justin Takamori. Ran calls Justin cute, and Justin calls Ran even cuter and winks at her. He then adds tat she is in second place as his mommy, Jessica Takamori is in first place. Justin then shows the kids his stamp book of all the tourists spots he has already been to so far.

Conan and the rest then go to the Aso Ropeway Station and ride in a carrier to the Nakadake crater. Once they are done, they leave the area and as they are heading to the zoo, Ayumi spots Kumamon, a stuffed bear, and wants to get one as a souvenir. Ran says later and as they leave with Conan, Justin and his mom buy the same stuff bear. After visiting the zoo, the group go to a food court area and eat. As they eat, a man, soon to be revealed as Monkichi Kumada, puts a bag on a bench and leaves. Then a mysterious man walks up with a Kumamon bear and swaps it with the bag. Ayumi sees this and believes that the man has forgotten the bear. So she runs to the man and tries to give it back, blowing the whole investigation that was taking place. The man sees the police and throws the bag at Ayumi, taking the bear as he runs.

Conan chases after the man with the police and witnesses Justin stepping in front of his mom and colliding with the man, causing the bear to fall. The man picks up a bear and runs away as the police chase after him. At the police station, Monkichi Kumada, the creator of the Kumamon bear explains that a robbery had occurred in his office and that an important item was taken away, a flash drive full of important information. He then tells Mouri that the thief phoned him and told him that he will exchange the flash drive with 10 million yen at the park. Then Keiji Kosugi is phoned and is told that the culprit at the park had been caught, but the flash drive have not been found. Conan then realizes that the bears must have been switched when Justin and the man collided with each other and deduces that they can find Justin at places where he can get stamps and figures out where he would not be and where his next location would be.

Namie Kajiyama, and the group then heads to Aso Shrine, not able to find Justin, but learns where his next location may be. According to the tour guide at the shrine, Justin said "I want to go and see the big pig falling asleep." Namie believes that Justin may be going to the Aso Milk Farm, but Conan deduces that he will not be there. He looks at Justin's route and says that he is actually going up and that by going to the farm he will be making a U-Turn. Also if he were to go to the farm, Justin will not arrive there in time as the farm closes at 4 P.M and that it is now 3:40. Conan deduces that Justin is at Daikambo, as he did not say "the big pig", but actually "the big Buddha". Namie trusts Conan and heads over there with him. When they arrive they witness the thief trying to take the bear away from Jessica. When Justin sees this he runs over and bites the criminal. Mouri and the rest try to intervene, but the thief kidnapps Justin and drove away
}}

As the police with the Detective Boys, Ran and Mouri chase the criminal, they received a call that says that if they continue the boy will be killed. Thus prompting the police to stop and Conan to wonder "How did the criminal know Justin had the flash drive and where to find him?" and if someone is working with the thief. If so, who?
<spoiler>
The culprit for the fraud is Mitsuo Inoue.Jun Kouda was the culprit for having kidnapped Justin. He needed money because he went indebted in gambling and was threathened by criminals. He was threathened by knife by them even if he was a policeman. The boss of Kumamon foods thought he was the one who injured Ayumi and stole data but it was in fact Inoue. Conan deduced it because on the day Kumamon Fods was broken into, Kouda was in the hospital to treat his injuries after his life-threat by tugs.The data was hidden inside a USB key plugged in the Kumamon plush that the mysterious robber had. To explain the truth, Conan tranquilizes Mouri Kogoro in his Samurai outfit before Inoue can take the plush from Ayumi. Inoue was the mastermind of the case. Inoue is stunned and asks for more evidence. First, Conan had mentionned that he talked about a failed transfer, but he weren't even there. He also knew mysteriously that Ayumi was hit with the bag and blamed Kumada for telling him those info but he couldn't becuase he didn't even notice the name of the injured girl that was Ayumi and not Haibara. Although he didn't mention who was Ayumi, Mitsuo still knew at frist glance who was Ayumi since he checked her arm because he was hidden inside bushes at that time. After the plan failed, he had to get back as fast as possible to the CEO so, he profited of the situation and pretended to be running fast before reaching them in the room.
Part 1
A threatening letter signed "the Guardian of Time" warns that Rukako Hoshina, the mistress of a large mansion with a clock tower, will be murdered during her birthday party at 6:00 PM. Kogoro and Conan go to protect her but fail. It appears that the culprit stabbed her with an ice pick and fled from the balcony, but shoe prints and the murder weapon are never found.
Resolution
<spoiler>
Conan deduces that Hoshina was stabbed with an umbrella, which fitted the description perfectly. A contraption on the mansion's clock tower set up by the culprit dragged the umbrella away and out of sight when it hit 6:00. The culprit is one of the party guests, Teigo Karube, who had designed this mansion and lost his clock technician friend four years ago. He reveals that the mistress treated the clock technician like trash and even threw away his friend's beloved clock, so he killed her in order to avenge his friend.
<spoiler>
The culprit is Shoko Hisazu. She poisoned Ushigome by swapping the bottle cap with the poisoned one that she prepared ahead while using a potato chip bag as a cover. She murdered him because she didn't want Ushigome to turn in due to the accident that he caused as it would have damaged her and her friends' reputation. But the inspector tells her that the more she tries to hide her crime the more obvious it becomes.
Agasa takes the Detective Boys camping, they end up being stranded in the middle of the woods. They decide to ask for lodgings from a house owned by an elderly woman named Iwae Tanaka. At the same time, Akane Ooba and her two hosts, Raito Adachi and Fuuga Kahara, also request for lodging and Tanaka complies. That night, Mitsuhiko goes to the restroom but see's something horrifying causing him to run back to his room. As Conan investigates he realizes who the murderer is. Disguising his voice as Agasa, Conan first reveals Kahara is a fake name and that he is actually Tanaka's grandson in disguise, Shouta Tanaka. Since Kahara lived in the house before, he would have used the knife in the shed and is thus, eliminated as a suspect leaving Raito Adachi as the culprit. As evidence, Conan reveals Adachi had his shoes on when he was by Ooba's body while everyone ran bare feet to investigate the screaming. As for the weapon, Conan reveals Adachi used the hammer to break apart an obsidian rock found in the fish tank for the murder; he then concludes the weapon used for the murder should be in the tank. Adachi professes to the murder revealing Ooba tricked his parents into furthering their debt and murdered her in vengeance. Tanaka gives her grandson the knife and her grandson promises to start visiting her again. A month later, Conan spots Shouta working as a chef with the knife his grandmother gave him.
Situation
Part 1
Agasa takes the Detective Boys camping, they end up being stranded in the middle of the woods. They decide to ask for lodgings from a house owned by an elderly woman named Iwae Tanaka. At the same time, Akane Ooba and her two hosts, Raito Adachi and Fuuga Kahara, also request for lodging and Tanaka complies. That night, Mitsuhiko goes to the restroom but see's something horrifying causing him to run back to his room. Soon after they hear a woman scream and Ooba is later found with her throat slit open outside the house with Raito by her side.

The police arrive and investigate all the bladed weapons in the house. Mitsuhiko then exclaims that while heading back from the restroom, the knife he saw Tanaka sharpening is missing.

Part 2
Tanaka dismisses Mitsuhiko's accusation as his imagination and the police continue their investigation. Agasa notes that his hammer is missing and Conan discovers an officer found the hammer in the woods. Conan later finds the rumored knife with the red handle and shows it to the police. None of the weapons reacted to luminol and leaves the officers stumped.
Resolution
<spoiler>
Case
Situation
Ran, Sonoko and Masumi follow Conan as he leads them to an alternate route. It seems Conan wanted Ran to see the Cherry Blossoms. A petal falls on Conan's nose. Ran picks it up and reminisces the first time she met Shinichi. She wonders if Shinichi knows that she hated him the first time she met him.

Ran GIRL
This part emphasises on Ran's perception of the story.

13 years ago, Eri is still married to Kogoro. It is Kogoro's first day at the headquarters and she is searching for Ran's Sakura Badge for pre-school. Kogoro accidentally steps on it and breaks it, so Eri makes Ran a temporary one using colored paper and cardboard.

Meanwhile, a man and a woman are heard talking over something. Their faces are not yet revealed. He says, "She isn't going to come back." Not bothered at all, the woman tells him to "reset everything" and that "there are no time constraints to starting over".

In another scene, Yusaku is in book-signing event where a fan admires his writing that says that she liked one of the last lines of the wandering woman detective in his story: "There are no time constraints to starting over." She hails from Hokkaido. Yukiko calls Yusaku to inform that Shinichi's pre-school badge is missing. Yusaku accidently brought everything that was on his desk, including the badge.

Ran's paper badge is admired by Sonoko in school, but some guys don't seem too happy about it. Sonoko and one of them get into a fight over Ran's badge, which is resolved by their teacher, Efune-sensei. Unfortunately, Ran's badge is all crumpled up but she says that she can make it again since she saw her mom make it.

While everyone is sleeping, Ran is struggling to make her badge out of paper again. This is when Shinichi approaches her. "It's a Cherry Blossom, right?", he says. Upon Ran asking why, he presents his deduction. By the time he finishes, everyone is listening and amused. But Ran doesn't seem too flattered by someone who called her a "crybaby". Sonoko admires him but Ran tries to refute his claim exclaiming that she wasn't crying. Yukiko arrives and scolds Shinichi for running away and losing his badge. Shinichi says that he was telling Ran to make a new one for him. Yukiko recognizes Ran as Eri's daughter. Ran asks for Shinichi name and writes it on the badge, telling him that he can keep it, but he has to promise that Ran is not a crybaby so he won't ever call her that.

Back to the present, Ran says that she couldn't digest the fact that Shinichi being just a kid himself like everyone was acting all like an adult. She was actually crying because the badge her mom made for her was ruined. At that time, she couldn't understand the real reason why Shinichi asked her to make a badge for him.

Another day in the school, Shinichi catches Efune-sensei staring at Ran while singing. Sonoko claims that Efune-sensei can do that since he's the teacher and very popular, so much that many kids want to marry him when they grow up. Upon asking if she likes Efune-sensei, Ran shies away from Shinichi shouting why would she tell him that.

Later that day, Shinichi confronts Efune-sensei regarding some inconsistencies he found in his behavior towards Ran. He presents his questions: Why would he hold her hand when they cross the street? Why would he let her slide first in the park? Why would the location of the park be changed to a distant one without any reason? Why does Ran only have a designated spot for sleeping? He concludes that Efune-sensei is trying to win her over and do bad things to her. Efune-sensei states his reasons: He holds her hand because one time she lost the way and ended up on the other side of town in Haido City. He lets her slide first because she always ends up letting everybody go first and doesn't get to slide herself sometimes. And she sleeps where she does because it is nearest to the bathroom as one time she was sleeping so far away that she didn't make it. He says that he'll state his reasons for switching the park the next day.

<spoiler>

The next day, Ran seems sad. When asked why, she tells Sonoko that she got scolded by her mom for bullying her classmates while in reality the case is the complete opposite. On reaching the park, Shinichi asks for the reason Efune brings them to a distant park. Efune points to his wife peeking through the hospital window and says that she loves children. They are actually moving to another hospital in the mountains where the air is better but there are only elderly people on that area. So he thought that he'd let her see the children for one last time, and admits that he was selfish to do that. Ran tells him that it's okay and that they should all wave to her. When the guy who bullied her before says that why should they listen to an outsider wearing a weird badge, Shinichi tells him that he is wearing the same badge as hers. The bully says that then he's an outsider too. In retaliation, Shinichi headbutts him and exclaims: "If there's two of us, then we're friends. And if we're friends, then we're not outsiders." Ran realizes that Shinchi must have seen her being bullied by the guys earlier, so he intentionally told her to make him a badge too. Regaining her lost enthusiasm, Ran holds Shinichi's hand high cheering, "Wave at the teacher's wife, Shinichi!" Shinichi objects to her calling him without honorifics, but Ran tells him that he can call her by her name too. Ran's viewpoint of the story ends with Shinichi saying: "On the back of cherry blossom petals, I made a new childhood friend."
</spoiler>

Shinichi BOY
Ran says that Shinichi actually pretended to solve her 'Sakura badge' case, when he had seen her being bullied and thus knew everything from the beginning. Conan's perspective of the story is explored in this episode. Back then, all he saw through the glass was a girl who was upset because she had something taken from her and the word 'outsider'. "It was the first time I had made a heart-pounding deduction.", he speaks to himself and continues to narrate his side of the story.

The story goes back to the scene when everything started. Yukiko is searching for Shinichi's badge and calls Yusaku to enquire about it. Meanwhile, Shinichi is lost in a mystery book. He reads, "If one simply knocks out all the central inferences, and presents one's audience with the starting-point and conclusion, one may produce a startling, though possibly a meretricious, effect." Shinichi seems typically embarrassed about wearing glasses when his mother tells him that he will end up wearing them if he reads in the dark.

They leave to Yusaku's book-signing event where Yusaku hands-over the badge and Shinichi clips it to his shirt. Shinichi and his mother arrive next at Beika Pre-school. Efune is carrying out the formalities for Shinichi joining pre-school. Wandering in search of the library, Shinichi ends up opening the doors to the room Ran and others are sleeping in. His first reaction is to be shocked at the sight of so many children lying in rows, which he mistook for a morgue from a scene he saw in a movie. He walks by the sleeping children and finds Ran crying. He sees her uniform missing a badge. He looks at the folds she is making from a distance and accurately deduces it to be a Cherry Blossom Petal from when he saw his dad making stars for decorating the Christmas Tree. He's embarrassed to ask her if he's right. When he tries to speak, he sees a badge made of paper. "What was taken from her wasn't a plastic badge.", he realises. He removes his own badge and all while maintaining his serious expression, tells her, "Make me one, too. (Pause) It's a cherry blossom, right?" He is worried if he's wrong in his deduction. Ran asks him how did he know that. Shinichi thinks she is making of him and explains his deduction, additionally calling her a 'crybaby'. Everyone is amused but Ran is mad at him. "I'm not a crybaby." She exclaims. Shinichi argues that she was crying, but Ran is insistent that she wasn't. That's when Yukiko finds Shinichi and starts scolding him. Shinichi tells her that he lost his nametag while he hides it in his pocket. The situation plays out like Ran's viewpoint, except only that Shinichi notices Efune staring darkly at Ran.

That day Shinichi explains to his parents why he finds that something is wrong with his new teacher Efune. Yukiko teases Shinchi that he's just being jealous because his teacher gives all his attention to Ran. Yusaku, however, thinks that there is a problem if Efune-sensei is playing favorites. He enquires if Shinichi had asked his teacher about his weird behavior. Shinichi tells the reasons Efune explained him earlier. Yusaku finally asks if Ran is the last one to wake up from sleep, to which Shinichi replies yes. Yusaku apparently has a fan from Hokkaido who shares her surname "Efune" with Shinichi's teacher.

The next day continues to Ran telling Sonoko about her mom scolding her for bullying. Only this time, a detective watches a suspicious figure in a car taking a photo of the kids. In the next scene in Beika Park where Efune explains his reason to Shinichi for changing their park, the detective watches the suspicious figure behind Efune's wife handing her the camera. The detective is none other than Yusaku.

}}

Two days later, it is raining and the kids are sleeping. Efune is worried about something. Two teachers in the hallway notice a black van parked outside the rear exit of the pre-school for a while and wonder if they should report it to the police. Efune tells them that he will go and check it out. While Efune runs towards in the rain, it is revealed that the woman and man in the scene at the very start of the previous episode were none other than his wife and Efune himself. Efune opens the door of the van and shouts, "Let's not do this!" To which Yusaku, who is seated as the driver, replies: "Let's not have this conversation in the rain." He invites him in the passenger seat and explains to him that his plan has been foiled. His brother-in-law who was breaking into the pre-school through the bathroom window has been arrested and is being questioned by the Police, in suspicion of trying to kidnap Ran Mouri.

Evidence
* Each day Efune held Ran's hand so that his brother-in-law would know which child they should kidnap.
* He announced her name and held her high in the slide in the park so that his wife could get a good look at her.
* He had Ran take her nap closer to the bathroom so that she'd be the one closest when his brother-in-law broke into the daycare through the bathroom window.
* Efune had also slipped Ran sedatives to make the whole process easier. As a result, she was confused and did certain things unintentionally, like soiling herself in her nap.
* Efune showed her special attention so that other children would be jealous of her and bully her. Then he wrote in her handbook that she was bullying children and made her mother scold her without an actual reason; that way, Ran would come to trust her teacher more than her parents.

Conclusion
Efune was aiding his brother-in-law in kidnapping a gentle and quiet little girl like Ran Mouri, so that his wife could start raising 'her' daughter all over again, from when she was the cutest and more docile. He was trying to win her over so that he and his wife could live happily with her thereafter, but Shinichi caught on some details so he rushes the plan to kidnap her before he'd be found out. Still, when Shinichi told his parents about Efune's behavior, Yusaku started putting two and two together. He even tells Efune that, while the other children are asleep, Shinichi is fully awake -- and standing next to Ran's sleeping spot, taking care of her.

Motive
Efune explains that few ago, his teenage daughter ran away from home. His very frail suffers from neurosis and has been so grief-stricken over the situation that she tried to kill herself and developed anorexia, so he and his brother-in-law believed that they had to carry out the kidnapping plan so she'd be more stable and recover the will to live.

Progress
Efune requests Yusaku that his wife be left out of this, but she has already surrendered to the Police with their daughter. The daughter is none other than Yusaku's fan from Hokkaido, who was deeply touched by his story. She had said a runaway herself, she could relate to the situation when the female detective discovers the runaway faking her suicide and says those words to make her return to her parents. Additionally, she said that she was from Hokkaido (a place where many students from Tokyo go on school trips and which could be a reasonable hiding spot for a runaway teen), but had habits that weren't shared by Hokkaido people (like using an umbrella when it snowed). Yusaku concludes that Efune will be able to see his daughter, but in exchange, he must to turn himself in to the Police. Nearby, Kogoro Mouri and Juzo Megure are impatiently waiting for the culprit to surrender.

The next day, the kids are shocked and those who liked Efune cry hearing that he has quit. However, Ran, who earlier said that she wasn't a crybaby, holds back her tears. Shinichi tells her then that she can cry when she feels like it and that he won't call her a crybaby anymore. Ran finally gives in to her sorrow, and cries leaning on Shinichi's shoulder.
</spoiler>

Epilogue
In the present, Sonoko makes fun of Shinichi for saying those "touching" words, being just a five-year-old. Ran concludes their childhood story with Sera questioning Shinchi being in love with Ran from then on. Sonoko claims that Shinichi's first crush has to be his mom, an actress. Ran agrees, blushing. However, Conan isn't amused. He doubts if Ran knows ever since the time they met, he has been head-over-heels for that smile. He didn't think she hated him that much though.
Situation

Resolution
<spoiler>
