While there, the man getting the tan doesn't answer his phone, even though he requested for the fishermen to meet him there. After a few tries, he finally answers one of their phones, but doesn't say anything, and only the tide is heard. Everyone runs to the beach, where they find him dead, covered in a fishing net. When in the forest, they see Detective Yamamura and his police officers looking for someone in the forest. It turns out that they were guarding famed serial killer Kichiro Numabuchi, and were escorting him in the forest to look for a body he had dumped there, as well as where he lived. However, they lost him. Mitsuhiko is alone in a forest, while Numabuchi is running around in there himself! The episode ends with only a shot of Mitsuhiko's scared face, as he is taking deep breaths.}}

During the funeral for the previous mayor, Moonlight Sonata is heard from the piano room and they find another man murdered there. Conan interprets the letter as indicating that the murders are just starting. Conan and the others spend the night near the piano along with Dr. Narumi Asai. The police interrogate everyone the next day who were at the funeral but another man is murdered. Music notes left by the killer reveal that whoever the murderer is is avenging Keiji Asou.
