Noriya invited the Detective Boys to his cousin's apartment, Toshinari Shiga to play a game. After they went into Toshinari's apartment, Conan sensed something is suspicious and started to search the apartment. Conan asked Noriya if his brother just moved there, and Noriya replied he moved about a month ago and Toshinari is not his brother, but his cousin. His parents are away, so Noriya will be staying with his cousin for a week. Noriya also said Toshinari's sister died in a traffic accident 6 months ago, and his mom asked him to stay with him and cheer him up. While showing Toshinari's sister's picture album to Conan, they suddenly heard a scream from the hallway. The scream was Toshinari's and there was a murder next to his apartment. Takagi replied that the flower seems like a bit of a gaudy choice and he also explained he chose the flower because her sister loved pink color. Conan then asked &quot;Was your sister having any problems? For example, a stalker or something, maybe?&quot;. Toshinari seems to be shocked at first but after Sato asked, he quickly replied &quot;No&quot;. Conan becomes sure Toshinari is the murderer but he has an alibi. After Conan solves the case, he asked Haibara to let the others go somewhere else. He had tricked Noriya's sense of time to help prove his alibi. The motive was that Hiroto was stalking Mika which caused her death. Shiga's sister had jumped into traffic in order to get away from her stalker, Hiroto, and was hit by a car. If Hiroto had called for an ambulance, and told them where she was she might've lived. <br /> <br /> Hiroto knew that Mika was pinned under the car she was hit by but said nothing and fled out of fear. Despite her death he kept photos that he took when stalking her, and in front of these photos he blamed Mika for dying because she ran away from him. Shiga who had been spying on him from outside his window saw this and was infuriated, when he confronted Hiroto he asked why did he not call an ambulance for her? Why did he not tell the paramedics that she was pinned under the car? Why did he run away? Hiroto simply said that he scared because of what happened and he did not know what to do.<br /> <br /> After the case was solved, Takagi said Noriya will be staying at Prof. Agasa's house until his mother comes back. Apparently, her mother called and told Noriya that Toshinari had to go on a trip for a while. Takagi gives back Sato's lost badge to her, and the real reason why Sato got disappointed is because of the lost badge. Later at the HQ, everyone is staring at the two. Yumi and Chiba greeted Sato and found out it was all a misunderstanding. The reason why the truth in Korriyama's death wasn't made public was to protect the child from being discredited, since his actions could be misunderstood as a prank. In reality his death was accidental, he had tripped and fallen while holding an empty fish bowl causing the resulting glass fragments to impale him when he fell.<br /> <br /> The kanji did cause panic and fear for a possible serial killer, so the public could resent Ryosuke for causing it. Megure correctly ruled '''Isao's case''' to be a '''theft''' as some thieves stole Isao's wallet post-mortem. Isao had died due to the fact that he was an alcoholic, he had drank so much that his liver had shut down causing his death. He revealed that he expressed sentiments to kill Senzo Fukura on a hate forum because his taking over as the new producer of the &quot;Ghost Captain&quot; movie series completely ruined the show. Vermouth found this post and sent him threatening pictures of his house and family to blackmail him to kill the captain and lure Shinichi from her attempt to murder Haibara. Back at the party, Shinichi is revealed to be Heiji in disguise, this was done to distract Vermouth from noticing Conan's absence. Jodie recalled the events 20 years ago: Vermouth killed Jodie's father and burned his house to ashes to stop an investigation against her.
