While driving, they find a message from the Phantom of the Cursed Masks, who tells them they should not go. Once there, they find other famous celebrities; a baseball player, a prophet, a rockstar, and a photographer who lost his wife in a &quot;Hit and Run&quot; incident. The mansion is huge and divided into east and west sides, and the only room connecting the two sides is the mask room. The mask room is locked at midnight each night due to Beniko's collection of Shobel's masks, a collection of 200 masks that are believed to be cursed. They were created by a famous man who lost everything and became engrossed in his masks; once he created 200 of them, he was found dead in his room surrounded with bloody masks. People who have owned his masks have suffered tragic fates. Suou, who now owns all 200 masks, had a priest place a seal on the curse, but the room is locked at midnight to prevent the masks from wandering. While driving, they find a message from the Phantom of the Cursed Masks, who tells them they should not go. Once there, they find other famous celebrities; a baseball player, a prophet, a rockstar, and a photographer who lost his wife in a &quot;Hit and Run&quot; incident. The mansion is huge and divided into east and west sides, and the only room connecting the two sides is the mask room. The mask room is locked at midnight each night due to Beniko's collection of Shobel's masks, a collection of 200 masks that are believed to be cursed. They were created by a famous man who lost everything and became engrossed in his masks; once he created 200 of them, he was found dead in his room surrounded with bloody masks. People who have owned his masks have suffered tragic fates. Suou, who now owns all 200 masks, had a priest place a seal on the curse, but the room is locked at midnight to prevent the masks from wandering. The trick to the locked room murder was stringing the 200 Shobel masks into a weapon that extended 3 meters long with a knife at the very end. The culprit is revealed to be '''Misaki Kana'''. Before meeting Yoshinori, she was actually engaged to Gerard Tenma in Hawaii. Tenma, discovering how he was dumped and betrayed, threatens Misaki with the original manuscript of the Red Nocturne containing flowers in the lyrics whose representation were emotions of betrayal and hatred. Feeling threatened for her life, Misaki calls Gerard to a cliff and pushes him to his supposed death. Discovering that he survived and that he was forming connections with the company owned by her husband, she fears that Gerard Tenma will threaten to expose her attempted murder and kill her. She thereby self imposes blackmail, including the Beethoven statue stunt and calling in the help of Mouri Kogoro, to keep up the impression that she is a victim. She frames her own husband for Tenma's murder, to protect him from being seduced by Masayo into giving up his company. He would be free from her influence while in jail and Misaki would run and protect the company until his release. Tragically, it is then revealed that Gerard forgave her, after seeing that he turned her into a murderer, and was genuinely trying to improve her husband's company. He had even rewritten the lyrics to Red Nocturne to express his feelings of sorrow for her. Misaki breaks down in tears. It was revealed that Nagisa Isogai is Kanou's daughter and that '''Minoru Ebina''' was romantically involved with Touji Samezaki's daughter, Yoshimi, who was shot and killed during the robbery 20 years ago, and whom Samezaki recognizes as a young man who was sobbing uncontrollably all through her funeral. Since then, Ebina had been trying to find the robbers and planned to use a bomb to kill all of them in revenge for his lost Yoshimi. The bomb was discovered by Conan and was detonated 100 yards from the ship.<br /> <br /> The murder culprit was '''Sadao Kujirai'''. He entered the ship as an old man to create an illusion that Kanou, the Organizer of the Shadows, was on board. He then proceeded with his plans and invited Teruyoshi Kameda to the maintenance room where he was killed. He hid the body in a box at the rear of the ship. He then came back to the group and arranged a meeting with Korehisa Kanie, who he drugged. He took Kanie's watch and clothes and placed them on Kameda to make it appear that Kanie was the burned corpse.<br /> <br /> Heiji saw Kanie's body, and Kujirai tried to kill him but threw Heiji overboard instead.<br /> <br /> During the commotion with the ship's flag burning and the box with the corpse exploding, Kujirai placed Kanie's body at the front of the ship. After watching everyone's movements and setting up what appeared to be a gunshot at the back, he proceeded to kill Kanie in the front. He then acted as though he was being targeted and told the detectives he'd tell them everything he knew. They were about to begin the interrogation when Kanie allegedly attacked them. It appeared as though Kujirai had been shot in the arm, though that was also a set up by Kujirai who had shot himself earlier when he killed Kanie. He placed a tennis ball under his arm right away to clog the artery so the wound would appear more authentic (slowing the blood flow and making the wound appear more recent than it actually was). Kujirai acted like Kanie was behind everything and that his death was a suicide. After he, Kanie, and Kameda murdered Saizo Kano, his motive for killing his accomplices was to usurp all the money the robbers stole and to spite the dead Kano, who had humiliated Kujirai and viewed him as an idiot.<br /> <br /> Samezaki reveals that Kujirai failed because committing murders right after the statute of limitations for the robbery expired makes him now liable for arrest for murder ''in addition to the original robbery''. <br /> <br /> It was noted that Kujirai was from Kansai, revealing why Heiji was called. Also noted is Kujirai's use of cigarettes in order to accomplish the set-ups, such as the burning flag and other scenarios.<br /> <br /> In the end, it is revealed that Heiji survived being tossed into the sea. He took off all of his clothes to stop himself from drowning, save for his pants and the charm made by Kazuha, and used a flashlight to make light signals. It was revealed that Nagisa Isogai is Kanou's daughter and that '''Minoru Ebina''' was romantically involved with Touji Samezaki's daughter, Yoshimi, who was shot and killed during the robbery 20 years ago, and whom Samezaki recognizes as a young man who was sobbing uncontrollably all through her funeral. Since then, Ebina had been trying to find the robbers and plans to use a bomb to kill all of them in revenge for his lost Yoshimi. The bomb was discovered by Conan and it was detonated 100 yards from the ship.<br /> <br /> The murder culprit was '''Sadao Kujirai'''. He entered the ship as an old man to create an illusion that Kanou, the leader of the Organizer of Shadows, was in the ship. He then proceeded with his plans and invited Teruyoshi Kameda to the maintenance room where he was killed. He hid the body in a box at the rear of the ship. He then came back to the group and arrange a meeting with Korehisa Kanie which he drugged. He took Kanie's watch and clothes and placed it on Kameda to make it appear Kanie was the burned corpse.<br /> <br /> Heiji saw Kanie's body that's why Kujirai tried to kill him but was thrown overboard instead.<br /> <br /> During the commotion with the ship's flag burning and the box with the corpse exploding, Kujirai placed Kanie's body at the front of the ship. After watching everyone's movement and setting up the what appears to be a gunshot at the back, he proceeded to kill Kanie in the front. He then acted as if he was being targetted and told the detectives he'll tell them everything he knows. They were about to start interoggation when they were allegedly attacked by Kanie and Kujirai being shot at the arm, when it was also a set up by Kujirai who had shot his arm when he killed Kanie. He placed a tennis ball on the wound right away to clot the blood so the wound would appear more authentic (make investigators believe it was a long range shot). Kujirai acted like Kanie was behind everything and that his death was a suicide. After he, Kanie, and Kameda murdered Saizo Kano, his motive for killing his accomplices was to usurp all the money the robbers stole and to spite Kano in death who humiliated Kujirai and viewed him as an idiot.<br /> <br /> Samezaki still reveals he failed because committing murders right after the statute of limitations (for the robbery) expired makes him now liable for arrest for murder ''in addition to the original robbery''. <br /> <br /> It was noted that Kujirai was from Kansai that's why Heiji was called. Also noted is Kujirai's use of cigarette in order to accomplish the set-up such as the burning flag and much of the scenarios.<br /> <br /> It turns out that Heiji survived being tossed into the sea, as he was carrying a flashlight with him.
