Shukichi Haneda was presumably born as Shukichi Akai until some incident, perhaps the death of his father, caused Shukichi and [[Masumi|Masumi Sera]] to switch to using "Sera" as a family name. The Akai family apparently lived a rather wealthy life.<ref>[[Volume 80|Volume 80, File 847, page 3: "Until I Collect All Seven"]]</ref> He might have been born in England. When the family moved to Japan, Shukichi's older brother Shuichi left them to study in America. After that his younger sister Masumi was born. Seven years after moving to Japan, he and his family were briefly reunited with Shuichi, who plans to join the FBI to investigate the death of their father. In middle school he was classmates with Tamami Minegishi, Sumika Kawana, Masaie Hakuya, Jinsuke Ninda and Satoko Imoto.<ref>The Red Woman Murder Case</ref>

When Shukichi graduated from high school he began using the family name Haneda from Koji Haneda, a shogi player he admire. It is not clear what their relationship was. According to Yumi he asked to be adopted into the Haneda family. At some point he started his career as a professional shogi player.

Shukichi's main objective is to prove himself worthy as Yumi's boyfriend by secretly winning all seven shogi titles, despite having technically been dumped by her. == Personality ==
Shukichi has a very cheerful personality, which Yumi (to her annoyance) perceived as immature. In front of Yumi and other characters, he rarely suppresses his emotions, which can range from overly joyful when meeting his ex-girlfriend, to hilariously disapproving when the latter announces that their relationship was over. Despite this, Shukichi does show a calmer and more serious side during some situations, most notably when he is making his deductions or when he appears in front of the media.

On the other hand, Shukichi is quite confident and proud of his excellent memory, as seen when he proclaims himself the best memorizer in the world.<ref name="memory">[[Volume 80|Volume 80, File 847, page 14: "Until I Collect All Seven"]]</ref> From his goal of achieving all seven shogi titles to win Yumi's admiration, he shows himself as a person with great patience and determination. The only thing which can disturb him is his intense feelings for Yumi; his belief in her love for him affects his performance at shogi immensely, making her his effective muse,he is even willing to leave an important match to save her like durning meijin title match which he left to save her.

He is also a strong detective, more skilled than Masumi. She often consulted him on cases over the phone, double-checking her deductions.

He is also a little careless and carefree shown in file 1043-1046 when he found out culprit's identity he went to talk with him and ask him to surrender but he get himself caught

He only loves Yumi and didn't betray her. Even after she dumped him, he doesn't want to tell Yumi about his shogi profession to surprise her and didn't tell her about the practice group. For example, there are women in it so she won't be jealous.

Shukichi Haneda is perhaps the most characterized by his hair, which sticks up in the back like a bed head. He is often shown wearing glasses, usually except when he is playing shogi or is being interviewed as a professional shogi player.

Shukichi was first mentioned by Yumi to the Detective Boys when the children were looking for a missing schoolgirl. She described him as someone with a good-looking face but childish personality. She also mentioned having "dumped him in a bad way", so she was buying a facemask so he wouldn't recognize her, since she was going to a place not far from where he lived.<ref>[[Volume 49|Volume 49, File 506, page 11: "The Secret Path to School"]]</ref>

After Sera took down the kidnapper with her motorcycle she either made or received a call from an unknown person. Given her pattern of contacting her brother regarding cases, she may have called him concerning this one. Another possibility is Mary.

Yumi recalls her moment with Shukichi before they broke up. When she proposed that they should end their relationship as she would become a police officer, Shukichi handed her an envelope and told her not to open until he "collect all seven", referring to the shogi titles. However, he hasn't contacted her ever since then, so she officially broke up with him.

When a murder takes place at his neighboring apartment, Shukichi becomes one of the prime suspects as he knows the code to acquire the spare key. That is when he finally meets his ex-girlfriend again after all those years. He cheerfully introduces to everyone about their relationship, only to be denied by Yumi.

As the investigation progresses, Shukichi perceives the true nature of the victim's suicide note, calling it "a well prepared move", which turns out to be an important clue. Later, when asked about his own alibi, Shukichi refuses to answer, much to Yumi's annoyance. However, he mentally tells her not to be worried, while confidently looking at Conan, who's already figured out the truth about the case.

Conan, with Shukichi's helps, points out that the culprit is the victim's husband. Shukichi explains that the suicide note was actually written four years ago, on an airplane that almost crashed; the culprit used it to fake her death as a suicide. He also reveals that he has suspected the husband since he saw the note, and his theory was confirmed when he overheard his conversation with his son.

At the end of the case, it is revealed that Shukichi is in fact the famous shogi player called "Taiko Meijin", and was having a match when the crime occured. He kept quiet about it so Yumi couldn't find out about his occupation. It's also revealed that the reason he's so determined in winning all seven shogi titles is because when the two were still dating, Yumi used to express her admiration for a sumo champion who had won six tournaments in a row.

Sera had called Shukichi regarding the "adultery case" she was about to investigate and was overheard by Eri. After the murder was discovered, Sera relayed her brother the facts of the case and her deduction by phone call. He told Sera her deduction was unreliable.

Conan asks Sera who she called during the last case, and she tells Conan about the existence of her second older brother who is very smart. Confronted with another murder case, Sera texts Shukichi about the situation and her logic. Sera also informs her brother than Conan seems to have figured out the case, but she isn't sure of her answer since her confidence has been shaken as of late. Her brother texts Sera asking who she keeps talking about. Sera sends him a picture of Conan and Shukichi replies that "it is no problem" if it is Conan doing the deducing, after all Shukichi had a good experience with Conan's deductions in [[The Ex-Boyfriend Living Next to a Crime Scene]].

Masumi is very surprised and wonders how her brother knows Conan. Her suspicion makes sense because she knows that Conan didn't exist prior to Shinichi shrinking.<ref name=861p4>Manga Volume 81, File 11 (861), pg 4: "Just like Magic"</ref> The brother later sends another text to Masumi which most likely said something about how he met Conan during a case before. This makes Masumi react "Ah, I see. So ''that's'' how it is."<ref name=861p15-16>Manga Volume 81, File 11 (861), pg 15-16: "Just like Magic"</ref> At the end of the unseen message is a PS asking if she has "already met the wizard." Sera looks over at Conan and thinks "You could say so..." while sending a reply.

Shukichi won important matches to help him win his 4th, 5th and 6th titles. Before he begins his title match to become only the 2nd Nanakan-ō shogi player with all 7 titles) in history, he receives a letter. He opens the letter only to find out that Yumi was kidnapped and is trapped in a well. The letter contains clues pertaining to the whereabouts of Yumi. He arrives at the location but cannot find the well. Upon the arrival, he bumps into Conan and the Detective Boys who immediately ask the real purpose of Shukichi. The match is postponed as Shukichi attempts to win both the battle of shogi and love.

Yumi and Sera call Shukichi at the same time, Shukichi answers Yumi's call first, put it on hold as he receives the call from Masumi, telling her that he's on the phone with someone important and to call later.As soon as he hangs up on Masumi, he resumes his conversation with Yumi. It turns out Shukichi knows some important facts about the case culprit and became helpful to Yumi and the investigation.

Shukichi was holding a Shogi practice session with younger Shogi players. However, Yumi suspects that he was having an affair, which causes her to bring Conan along to tail him. Unfortunately, one of the Shogi group members got killed while arriving at the apartment. Shukichi realizes that the culprit is one of the members before the police arrive. He goes to the culprit's place to tell him to turn himself in but got kidnapped afterwards.
Eventually, he is saved by a double effort of Conan and his brother Shuichi. Shukichi reveals to his brother that he wanted to introduce Yumi to his [[Mary|mother]], but is unable to contact her. After Shukichi revealed to his brother that he didn't tell their mother that he is still alive yet, Shuichi reassures that he'll meet her eventually, once the mist of the [[Black Organization]] that covers the truth, has been cleared up.

He guides the FBI to pursuit the culprit by his memorizing skill. At the end of the movie, Yumi denies on accepts Shukichi's proposal as she was sober, much to Shukichi's disappointment.

Later Shukichi asked Masumi about the detective she was always talking talking about, not realizing he had already met this person before. Masumi shows her brother Conan's picture thinking he will be surprised. Shukichi replies back that "if it's him, then there's no problem"; he had met Conan previously after all.

Shukichi Haneda and [[Yumi Miyamoto]] first met when the latter was still in college, and had begun dating since then until Yumi eventually broke up with him because she thought he was immature. Shukichi is completely oblivious to Yumi breaking up with him and he still thinks of her as his girlfriend as if nothing has happened. Yumi, on the other hand, refers to him as an ex and doesn't show much interest in his personal life. Despite this, it appears she still has some feelings for him.

Their relationship began to relapse after Shukichi was caught up in a murder case in his apartment complex. Despite Yumi acting standoffish most of the time, they start using pet names for each other once again. They even exchanged a kiss before Shukichi continued his shogi match to win the seventh title. By the time Yumi figured out Shukichi's real identity, Shukichi was regularly meeting with her. All of this time, Yumi still insisted on calling him an ex.

Yumi was unaware of Shukichi being a famous shogi player for a long time, mostly due to her lack of interest in investigating, and an apparent personal disinterest in shogi (she is more of a Mahjong type). She assumed Shukichi was a "meijin" at some minor game like shiratori or fishing. She eventually saw Shukichi on television and figured it out. After realizing that meijins can make 100,000,000 yen in salary, she desperately tries to reclaim the letter he left for her, which her ornery building manager had seized.

After Shukichi lost the decisive match against [[Chikara Katsumata]],Yumi rips the letter on Shukichi's favour as it became invalid due to his loss. Disappointed by his loss, Yumi encouraged Shukichi that she will wait for him to re-gather the seven Shogi titles once again and that she will listen to any one of his wishes. She also motivated him to never lose to anyone, improving the romantic relationship between the two.

After that she spend more time with shukichi in his apartment and shukichi was worried for Yumi and anytime something might happen to her like durning traffic police murder case which she might be murdered.

In file 1043-1046 Yumi suspected of having an affair and show jealousy which she tailed him but it was revealed it was just a practice group for shogi.

Shukichi was 10-11 years old when Masumi was born, and he was, unlike Shuichi, close during her childhood until she was seven and finally introduced to their older brother. Despite the ten year age separation between [[Masumi Sera]] and her moving abroad, nevertheless she and Shukichi kept in touch by phone. Shinichi has met Shukichi in the past as a child, so it's possible that Shukichi might recognize him as Conan because of his memorization skills, and also due to Shukichi calling Conan a Wizard, the same nickname that Masumi attributed to Shinichi when they met 10 years ago. It's also possible that his brother Shuichi told him about Conan given that Shukichi knows of Akai having faked his death.

[[Chikara Katsumata]] is Shukichi's only shown Shogi rival and the holder of the one of the seven main Shogi titles. He claimed the seventh title from Katsumata in [[Taiko Meijin's Match of Love]]. There is one wrinkle in the above information. There are only two ways for both Gosho's shogi source explanation and the List of APTX 4869 victim source to be true. One is that Gosho decided on the name Haneda, and then noticed the name on the list and came up with additional backstory for Shukichi on the spot, or that Gosho planned out Haneda's backstory in Volume 18, 15 years before he was actually introduced. Neither of them have been shown to have other close friendships outside of their relationships with Shinichi and Ran, though Heiji does have a rivalry with fellow kendo practitioner [[The Osaka Double Mystery - The Naniwa Swordsman and Toyotomi%27s Castle#People|Okita]]. They often spend time together, and Kazuha typically comes along when Heiji visits the Mouri's or vice versa, and is usually getting caught up with Heiji in criminal investigations.

This usually frustrates Kazuha and it leads to their "'''''Old Married Couple'''''" arguing that many people point out make them look like a real couple.

When the killer dismisses this, Heiji angrily reveals how the man's love died (a misunderstanding due to the killer being foreign and not knowing that much about Japanese) just out of spite. Even Conan thinks that it is cruel to do so, but Heiji holds no remorse.

* Heiji and Kazuha are held hostage in the attic of Misari Ito's house.
* Heiji tries to get their hands free from the handcuffs, but winds up hurting Kazuha when he messes up. Making her call him an idiot while Heiji tells her to be quiet or the others will hear them.
* When Heiji drops the pin he was using to unlock the handcuffs, Kazuha becomes panicked and Heiji asks if she has some type of wire with her. She tells him that was the only thing she had.
* Kazuha asks Heiji if it would just be better for them to solve the code they gave them, since they said they would be released unharmed if they did.
* Heiji and Kazuha are threatened by the two kidnappers that if they didn't solve the code, then they would be as cold as the other guy they caught.
* Kazuha whispers Heiji's name softly in fear and Heiji comforts her by saying that they don't know "That Guy" (referencing Shinichi), causing Kazuha to become confused at his statement.
* Kazuha looks at Heiji with concern and worry as he is abused by the two kidnappers.
* Kazuha asks Heiji if he is alright and that he has to hang on.
* When Heiji is punched in the stomach by one of the kidnappers, Kazuha says his name with deep concern.
* After Heiji gets his hair pulled by one of the kidnappers to get his ear sliced off, Kazuha exclaims Heiji's name in fear for his safety.
* Kazuha yells at the Kidnapper with the knife to stop with tears in her eyes. Not wanting any harm to come to Heiji.
* Heiji leads Kazuha to the window where he exclaims in surprise that Shinichi (Conan) was leaving them. Kazuha tells him that he's probably thinking of a way to save them but Heiji doubts her claims.
* Heiji, frustrated at their situation, says that he has no other choice but to break the window. Causing Kazuha to freak out at his proclamation.
* Heiji turned around when Kazuha began to recount how her father knew Kusukawa-San was a gambler and scolded her for not telling him sooner.
* When Kazuha asks Heiji if he has the entire answer to the problem, Heiji smiles and says that he does saying that it is easy to remember if you gamble.
* Misari threatens Heiji that if he messed up on the top part of the problem than he would find himself covered in his girlfriend's (Kazuha's) blood.
* Heiji and Kazuha are both horrified when they realize Misari's full plan.
* Misari asks Heiji if he has any last words to say before she kills him, After a while and a threat, Heiji says that his last words were directed to Kazuha right behind him.
* Kazuha's eyes widen when he says that his final words are for her.
* When Misari says that his Girlfriend (Kazuha) won't last much longer than him, he says that it's something that he's been wanting to tell her forever and asks for the gun to be put down until he is finished.
* When Misari starts to rush Heiji on his last words to Kazuha, he says that he wants to make sure that it is perfect so that she remembers it when she's up in Heaven. Causing Kazuha to blush at his statement.
* When Heiji's plan is foiled to get the gun away from Misari, he gets kicked down and Kazuha cries out his name in concern and fear.
* While Misari is counting down before she shoots Heiji, He tells Kazuha that he was telling the truth when he said that his final words were for her. Saying that he almost said it over and over and that every time he felt her tremble against his back he, and he stops right there before he embraces for the impact of the gun shot.
* Kazuha listens to this in a horrified gaze with tears filling up her eyes.
* After Heiji is released and is about to leave with Misari, Kazuha looks at him with scared eyes and asks if they survived this than he would tell her what he was about to say. Causing Heiji to smile and reply that he'll keep saying it until she gets tired of it.
* After Misari is arrested along with her accomplices, Heiji tells Shinichi (Conan) that the case was close in many ways. Thinking back to the point where he was almost shot in front of Kazuha when he was telling her his final words.
* Heiji started to blush hard when Kazuha asked him what his final words were and scratched his cheek as he started to say them over to her again, but he gets embarrassed and scared and told her that her pigtail was bothering him every single time she moved. Angering Kazuha and causing Shinichi to wince with sympathy, who was listening on the other side blushing as well for his situation.

* Heiji and Kazuha recall their hostage situation when they spend the night at Kogoro's apartment.
* Before Kazuha could say anymore about Kogoro solving the deciphered code (Which was actually Shinichi's doing), Heiji cuts her off and says that it didn't matter anymore.
* When Kazuha looks at Heiji confused about the Arsonist, Heiji takes the time to explain to her and the others what the arsonist is trying to accomplish.
* Kazuha wishes Heiji and the others luck on their detective business when she heads off with Ran. Heiji smiles at her and replies back "OK."
* When Kazuha comments that Heiji and Conan get along really well, Ran asks if she's jealous of Conan. Making Kazuha deny any such thing.
* While walking away Heiji look back slightly, because he is worried about Kazuha.
* When Heiji and the others were late coming back to Ran's apartment, Kazuha questions Heiji furiously over the phone.
* Heiji explains that they are at a client's house and Kazuha is furious with the news, saying that they would be back by now.
* Heiji agrees and says that they were on their way when a couple of firetrucks came by and made them worried. So they went back to discover the house was in flames. Causing Kazuha to become surprised with the news.
* Kazuha calls Heiji an Idiot since she thought she had found the perfect shirt that would fit him when she and Ran went out shopping together. Wanting to show him the shirt when they got home.
* Ran reassures Kazuha saying that Heiji and the others would be back home soon.
* Kazuha becomes severely frustrated with Heiji when it becomes late at night, saying to forget them and go to bed since they're going to Tropical Land in the morning. But Ran stops her before she went to bed by asking to put the teruterubozu over her Dad's window.
* When Heiji hears that Kazuha and Ran received a Red Horse key chain, he yells at Kogoro to tell him what block his apartment is on. With concern in his eyes for their safety.
* After Kazuha and Heiji see each other again at Ran's place, he asked her in a concerned voice what had happened.
* Kazuha is frustrated and angry when Heiji cancels their plans to go to Tropical Land.
* When Kazuha and Ran are freaked out about the burnt down building, Heiji asks them why they even bothered to come along with them in the first place with an irritated tone of voice.
* Kazuha replies back to him that they came because they wanted to finish the case as quickly as possible so that they could resume their plans to go to Tropical Land together.
* It is revealed that Kazuha talks to Heiji's mother frequently and they talk for quite some time together.
* Heiji and Shinichi (Conan) are frightened when they are caught talking about Kazuha and Ran's calling habits.
* With some common knowledge given by Kazuha and Ran's conversations, Heiji and Shinichi (Conan) are able to figure out the rest of the case.

* When Kazuha says that they cannot do both after Heiji mentions the High School Baseball finals, Heiji leans in closer to her and asks if she got the tickets from one of the five women who absolutely love Takarazuka.
* Heiji smiles at Kazuha and offers the unsolved murder case as a competition to see if they go to Koshien or Takarazuka.
* Kazuha is angered at the proposal, seeing as how Heiji is a better detective than she is and that she'll never win in a competition revolving around deduction and reasoning against him.
* Heiji says to Kazuha that it is sneaky of her to get two people to help her out with a annoyed look on his face, Kazuha just sticks her tongue out at him.
* Kazuha stands right behind Heiji as he is looking over the spot the dead body was found.
* Heiji explains out loud that they don't know if the murderer was an outsider to begin with and stands up to be right besides Kazuha with a smile on his face.
* While Megure lays out the pictures in front of them, Heiji stands close to Kazuha's shoulder.
* As Heiji is explaining his reasoning behind the ink on the blocks, he smiles and looks back at Kazuha as he continues on with his explanation.
* Kazuha stops herself before she praises Heiji's reasoning, reminding her that she is in a competition with him and that she can't allow him to win and figure out the dying message before her.
* When Heiji finally figures out what the dying message means, he smiles and looks back at Kazuha. Apologizing that he has solved the message and that he's going to win the competition.
* Heiji then realizes that Kazuha is frustrated and that she is starting to cry over the fact that she can't figure out the dying message. Making him soften his expression on his face to concern for her feelings.
* Heiji thinks Kazuha's name in a gentle tone of voice and continues to look at her in a gentle fashion.
* After remembering what Shinichi said to him about competitions about deductions, he decides to let Kazuha win and he starts to drop hints to her on how to win the competition.
* As Heiji drops hints to Kazuha about solving the dying message, he keep turning his direction to gaze into her eyes to see if she gets what he is trying to do. Making Shinichi (Conan) realize what he is doing and smile at his reasoning behind playing dumb all of a sudden.
* When Megure says that Kazuha's reasoning must be wrong, Heiji stands up for her and says that her deduction wasn't wrong at all.
* When Heiji starts to get wrapped up in solving the case after he has put all the pieces together in his head, Shinichi (Conan) starts to warn him silently that their main intention was to let Kazuha win the competition.
* Shinichi (Conan) Is dumbfounded when Heiji solves the case, since Heiji's main intention was to let Kazuha win the competition so that they would all go to Takarazuka instead of Koshien.
* Heiji is frightened when he realizes that he accidentally got too wrapped up in solving the case and turns to hear Kazuha congratulate him and says that she'll practice the Tiger's Fight song and turns to leave him.
* Heiji cries out for Kazuha to wait so that he can tell her that they can go to Takarazuka.
* When Ran suggests that they try to make Heiji want to go to Takarazuka instead, Kazuha denies this and says that the only thing that she wanted to see was Heiji's face after he solves a case and smiles at his expression.
* Heiji sits and pouts at his accidental victory and wonders how he messed up on his plan to allow Kazuha to win, making Shinichi (Conan) call him an idiot.

* Heiji blushes as he initially thought it was Kazuha but then realized it was Conan (Shinichi).
* Kazuha becomes irritated when Heiji comments on how the female magicians are a couple of "beauties".
* Heiji is outwardly jealous when Kazuha and Ran mention that they hugged Hoshikawa and he angrily asks why she [Kazuha] hugged him.
* Heiji removes Kazuha's arms from Hoshikawa's arm in a jealous manner.
* Heiji is very irritated when Kazuha praises Shinichi as having the best deductive mind.
* While talking about the murder case with Conan, Heiji mentions that whenever he sees Kazuha be flirtatious with or talking about another guy, he gets annoyed and he can't concentrate. He asks Conan why that happens; Conan realizes Heiji's feelings, but merely calls Heiji a child because he's so oblivious to the truth.
* Heiji gets extremely irritated when Kazuha mentions that Hoshikawa calmed her down.
* Heiji tells Kazuha to stay put with Ran while they investigate; Ran recognizes Heiji's jealousy, but Kazuha is oblivious.
* Heiji blushes and freaks out a little when Kazuha tightly hugs his arm to demonstrate why a magician couldn't be the killer.
* At the end of the case, Heiji states he figured out why he doesn't like seeing Kazuha flirt with other guys; after a conversation with [[Juzo Megure|Megure]] he's concluded that he thinks of her as a subordinate, like her father is a police subordinate to his father. This, understandably, frustrated Kazuha and they start to argue.

With a faint blush, Heiji tells Kazuha to go back inside so she doesn't get sick, which causes her to blush in return and agree to do so. After he leaves, Kazuha's classmates tease her gently about liking him.
* At lunch, some boys tease Heiji and Kazuha about being a couple when Kazuha sits next to Heiji rather than the other girls in their class.
* Kazuha tries to stop Heiji from investigating an old murder despite an incoming snowstorm. They overhear Sonoko teasing Ran and Shinichi about being a couple, assume it's directed to them and blush, and Heiji starts to vehemently deny it until he realizes Sonoko isn't looking at them.
* When Heiji berates his mother for following him on the ski trip to add to her videotape collection of him growing up, Kazuha blushes and thinks that she would like to see those tapes.
* Kazuha's classmates realize that Kazuha got herself promoted to the advanced skier group to be in the same group as Heiji, despite not being very good at even getting off the ski lift. She admits it and asks them not to tell Heiji about it. She also accompanies Heiji through the rest of his investigation, which also aggravates her ankle. He call her an ''ahou'', but carries her piggyback and thanks her for her assistance in what he's figured out about the case so far. Heiji also concludes that she got into the advanced skier class to show off, unaware that Kazuha is blushing and smiling from the closeness as he carries her, and to be closer to him was her true aim.

* Heiji teases Kazuha that she shouldn't sleep with her belly showing.
* After learning about Furinkazan, Kazuha blushes while thinking about Heiji.
* Heiji worriedly asks Kazuha what's wrong, after the she calls him.

* Heiji and Kazuha ride in the back of the car together as they tail the car ahead of them containing Haruna.
* Kazuha warns Heiji that Haruna saw them and Heiji tells the driver to slow down so that Haruna wouldn't know that they were following her.
* When Haruna finally gets out of the car and out onto the streets again, Heiji and Kazuha lean in close to the window against each other to see where she's going.
* Heiji and Kazuha race after Haruna after they spot her in the garden areas of a local park.
* Heiji and Kazuha continue to race after Haruna as she crosses several parts of town until they get to the Eirakukan Play House.
* Heiji and Kazuha run to Kannouden shrine together and Kazuha asks why the shrine is Gonbee-san, Heiji answers her by explaining the name origins of the Shrine and that the name belonged to an ancient Feudal lord name Gonbee Hidehisa.
* Heiji turns to Kazuha and says that Haruna should be around where they were.
* Once Haruna sees that they've found her, Heiji and Kazuha chase after her once again down the steps to the shrine but are stopped by a group of women.
* Heiji and Kazuha arrive just in time to see Haruna get in the car with the kidnapper holding Ran hostage.
* When Heiji and Kazuha discover where Ran was being held hostage, Kazuha cuts in front of Heiji asking Ran in a happy tone if she was alright.
* Heiji and Kazuha stand side-by-side as they watch Haruna resolve everything with her parents and the reunion of the two pieces of the statue.

* Kazuha is asked by a family acquaintance to make a good-luck charm for his upcoming tennis tournament. While she is caught up in aikido practice the day he is supposed to pick it up, Heiji accidentally gives the man Kazuha's personal charm rather than the one she'd made. Heiji goes to Tokyo to get it back; when he asks Kazuha why she even came along, she blushes and doesn't answer. Later she privately confides to Ran that she came to get the charm back without letting Heiji look inside, because she secretly keeps a small photo of his face inside it. Ran agrees to help, but teases Kazuha with the possibility of showing Heiji the photo.
* After the case is solved, the charm is released from police evidence to Heiji, which causes Kazuha to panic and run after him. By the time she arrives, Heiji has already opened the charm—but the tennis player scribbled all over the picture in frustration at realizing that Kazuha wouldn't return his feelings, so Heiji concludes that Kazuha thinks he's ridiculous rather than being in love with him.

* After Heiji and Kazuha sit down to explain why they're there to begin with, we see that Heiji is sitting by Kazuha's side at a very close proximity.
* Kazuha tells Ran that the demon dog statement was just a story that they heard and Heiji corrects her saying that they don't know if it is just a story or not in a patient tone.
* As Heiji talks about the death of the original master of the Inubushi house, Kazuha gazes at him intently as he explains what really happened back then for the case.
* When Conan asks Heiji how he got a hold of the case, Heiji tells him that he got the case from Kazuha's mother.
* Kazuha admits that the case was originally meant for her father, but since he couldn't leave Osaka city he decided to get someone to go in his stead and picks Heiji to take on the case.

* After Kazuha hypothesizes that the final member of the Inubushi family could have sustain facial injury and could be wearing a mask, Heiji looks over at her in an annoyed way and thinks in his head to her that this wasn't the Inugami clan.
* When sitting down for tea with Miyuki, Heiji and Kazuha are sitting across from each other at the table while they listened to her story.
* As Kazuha is making a proper prayer at the grave to the dead dog so that she won't get cursed, Heiji looks at her with an annoyed look on his face and thinks to himself to her that there's no such thing as curses.
*Heiji yells at Kazuha to go call the police and an ambulance after the missing adopted Inubushi child falls in front of them from on top of the cliff and informs her saying that he, Conan, and Kogoro will be going to the top of the cliff.
* Kazuha yells at Heiji that he shouldn't leave them alone at a place like this (referencing the crime scene) and Heiji instead leaves with Conan and Miyuki up the hill after Conan leaves Kogoro to wait with the girls.
* Kazuha reacts in horror when Heiji says that it was as if a flaming dog had passed through at the scene of the crime.
* When Kazuha says that the stories about the demon dog are true, Heiji scolds her and replies with an annoyed look on his face that there's no such thing as a demon dog. But smiles at her saying that it was just a trick.
* As Kazuha and Ran start talking about what had happened when the ambulance picked up Saki's body, Heiji looks over at Kazuha intently and reacts when she says that there was a marble at the scene of the crime.
* When Heiji asks if they had the marble with them, Kazuha and Ran replied that they thought it was an offering and left it at the crime scene.
* As Heiji leaves with the inspector, Conan, and Kogoro to the scene of the crime; he tells Kazuha to be good and to wait quietly for him to come back.
* When Kazuha and Ran object to being left behind since they were the ones who found the marble, Heiji replies back that they could come along with them but the demon dog could appear again. Making Kazuha and Ran understand where he was getting at and decide to stay behind.
* When Heiji receives a call from Kazuha, he tells her that it's going to be a while and that she should go to bed but then yells out in shock when Kazuha tells him that the dog showed up at the house.
* Heiji questions Kazuha whether or not the dog was really on fire with a concerned look on his face as Kazuha nods her head and replies that is was.
* As Kazuha brings up that she smelled something when she fell, Heiji asks intently what kind of odor it was as he gazed at her intently.
* Kazuha and Ran are disappointed when it turns out that Heiji and Conan weren't as stupefied as Kogoro had told them they were to begin with, hinting that Kazuha actually wanted to see him stumped for once.
* When Kazuha says that '''Princess''' could be referencing Miyuki since the same kanji is part of her name, Heiji calls her an idiot and says that couldn't be the case.
* Heiji asks what Kazuha and Ran are doing as they are eating Dinner later that afternoon with an annoyed look and they reply that they're watching a re-run of a quiz show and trying to guess the answer to a question.
* Heiji and Conan agree when they both ask the girls why they aren't in bed since it was 1:00 AM in the morning and Heiji mentions that their futons are ready in their rooms.
* When Kazuha tells Heiji that it's because their afraid of the demon dog that they can't go to sleep, Heiji starts to try and talk her into going to bed.
* Kazuha challenges Heiji to solve the question the game show to see if he can do it before the time runs out, saying that they'll go to bed if he can answer it correctly.
* When Kogoro believes that Miyuki is the serial killer in the Inubushi family, Kazuha rushes to Heiji's bedside to wake him up to see if what Kogoro is saying is the truth or not. Only to be surprised when Heiji isn't there.
* After the flamed demon dog appears to be just a regular dog in a cloth, Kazuha questions what it had around it's body. Heiji answers her by walking up behind her and answering it was imitation fire with a smile on his face.
* While Heiji is explaining how the dog can appear and reappear with the help of the cloth and the tricks behind the attacks, he stands very close to Kazuha.
* Kazuha asks Heiji if the smell she smelt before was the lighters used for the trick for the footprints, Heiji smiles and replies that it was and explains why she fell in the first place before at the house when she was being chased by the dog.

* While on the public transportation bus, Heiji notices Kazuha's anxious behavior and asks her what she's doing in a curious tone a voice.
* Kazuha replies that she can't help it since her mother wants her to buy some retort-pouch curry for her back at home, Heiji gives her a look and tells her that she doesn't need to look for it right now with a sigh and asks her why she can't buy it later.
* Kazuha says to Heiji that it's precisely his kind of attitude that always causes her to miss her opportunity to buy Shinshu Miso for her when they were in Nagano, causing Heiji to become slightly offended and annoyed by her reminder.
* After Kazuha spots the family restaurant that sells the curry, she tells Heiji to go on ahead without her to Kogoro's place and that she'll meet him there. Shocking Heiji with her actions.
* When Kazuha yells for the bus driver to stop, Heiji tells her that the bus isn't a taxi with an uncomfortable look on his face.
* Heiji yells Kazuha's name out of the bus window for her, but Kazuha tells him goodbye and leaves. Making him yell out her name one more time before he gets cut off mid sentence by the distance between them.
* Heiji later asks what's up with her with an annoyed look on his face.
* After Ran asks where Kazuha is, Heiji smiles and replies that she's out running an errand and starts to tell the story about how her mother sent her out to buy her the curry since it's only sold in Tokyo family restaurants and how she saw it before they arrived.
* Heiji receives a phone call from Kazuha and he picks up to ask if she got her curry yet, Kazuha yells for Heiji to help her and Heiji becomes alarmed as to what is going on.
* When Heiji says that she should be at the family restaurant, Kazuha replies that she is but someone had died in the bathrooms and it's causing a huge disruption in the building.
* Heiji asks Kazuha if it was a murder and Kazuha replies that she doesn't know, only that a huge foreign man told everyone not to leave the shop so she can't leave.
* Heiji tells her that he understands and that he'll be there soon so she should hold on for him.
* Heiji announces to everyone that they heard what was going on and that he was leaving to go help Kazuha. Only to be stopped by Sera when she decides that this would be a perfect opportunity for Heiji and Shinichi to decide who is the greater detective.
* When Heiji and the gang finally arrive at the family restaurant, he asks Kazuha if the foreigner spoke English when he told everyone to block the exists and the restrooms. Kazuha replied that he spoke Japanese and that he was the first to discover the body.
* When Heiji exclaims in a rude tone of voice that Ran was actually familiar with Special Agent Camel, Kazuha grabs Heiji by the arm and tells him that he's being rude for pointing out him in a mean way. Even if it is true, only to be told she did the same thing by Ran.
* Kazuha overhears Heiji saying that he's hungry and calls him over to the table to eat with her, Ran, and Kogoro. Heiji yells at her saying that they've been working while they've been eating in a teasing and slightly ticked off tone of voice.
* Kazuha defends her actions to Heiji by saying that they were hungry and couldn't help but order something to eat since their stomach's were grumbling.
* When Heiji asks if the dishes they're eating really are the dishes that the suspects ordered, Kazuha confirms it to him by saying that Kogoro asked the waitress about it.
* Kazuha then goes on to explain that each of them are eating the same dishes that the suspects are eating to Heiji and Conan.
* When Heiji is yelling at the three suspects about one of them having a Kansai dialect, Kazuha rushes up to him asks why he's so riled up.
* Heiji replies to Kazuha that he's riled up because he's finally taking the lead in the case and if he doesn't solve it soon, Shinichi will beat him.
* Once Conan, who is pretending to have heard the entire deduction from Shinichi over the phone since he is Shinichi, says they'll figure out who the culprit is with a magical dish, we see that Heiji and Kazuha are standing very close in proximity to each other.
* After Heiji and Kazuha drink the miso soup that Conan (Shinichi) had told the restaurant to make, they have the exact same reaction saying that it's spicy.
* When Conan (Shinichi) reveals who the killer is, the culprit tries to take down Kazuha after failing to move pass Ran. Though Heiji yells at him that he shouldn't go that way either but is to late to warn him after Kazuha flips him on top of a table.
* Heiji and Conan (Shinichi) sigh as they said that they shouldn't go those ways to begin with, since they knew their girlfriends could take him out.
* Kazuha is shock to hear that Heiji and Shinichi were competing against each other during this case since she wasn't there to hear the challenge that Sera had set up.
* As Heiji is reading the letter he received from a dead culprit who had contacted him to the others, Kazuha gazes at him with a concerned look on her face.

* Heiji yells at Kazuha to stop messing around in an irritated tone since they're not going to the room to fool around, Kazuha replies that she knows that and that she knows she has an important role.
* Kazuha confirms that the chair is the same design and the same color as the chairs she has at home, telling Heiji that the case really is strange.
* Heiji replies back to Kazuha that that's what he's been saying from the beginning with an annoyed look on his face.
* When Heiji activates the cleaning robot, Kazuha yells at him and asks what he's doing with the robot.
* Heiji replies that he's solving the mystery, and proceeds to explain to Kazuha how he didn't use the chair to commit suicide and how he actually used a trash can.
* Kazuha looks concerned at Heiji after he solves the case, noticing how depressed his expression and body language is.
* While Heiji is talking to Detective Otaki and Detective Takagi about the murder, we see that Kazuha stands directly behind him as they all investigate the scene of the crime.
* Kazuha yells at Heiji to stop fooling around after Heiji deems the shooting in the elevator to be a murder instead of a suicide, but Heiji remains calm and continues to explain his reason for believing that the case is a murder instead of a suicide to them.
* Kazuha gazes at Heiji as he continues to explain how the crime is a murder in an entranced state looking confused, yet impressed at the same time.
* Kazuha freaks out after Heiji turns his hat around on his head, an action that signifies his interest and excitement for a case, and says that they were supposed to catch the next train back to Osaka.
* Kazuha complains to Ran about why Heiji is taking so long and is relieved when Heiji comes back with the others after questioning the suspects.

* When Heiji hears Kazuha and Ran scream after discovering the dead body, he runs with Conan to the room to ask what happened with a concerned tone.
* Heiji informs Kazuha that there wasn't anyone in the coffin, making her react in shock and telling him that had to be a lie.
* After Kazuha and Ran say that it was as if the master was Dracula himself, Heiji looks at them intently and intrigued by their statement.
* Heiji sticks with Kazuha's story about the master being inside the coffin and asks Otaki to take a blood swipe to analyze for any DNA, showing his trust in Kazuha.
* When Kazuha and Ran scream again, they rush to their sides to see what's the matter.
* After Kazuha and Ran discover the case revolving around vampires to be true, they dash out of the room with Heiji calling out to Kazuha to come back with Ran.
* When they see that the master really is in the photo like Kazuha and Ran said, they try to say that it had to be another trick by him. But Heiji defends Kazuha's statement saying that the master was indeed in the same place where she saw him.
* Heiji gets frustrated when he can't find Kazuha when they go back to the kitchen to show the girls the picture they took of the master.
* After Heiji assures Kogoro that the girls will be safe, he says in his head that they're to busy making gyoza.
* Heiji starts to fear for Kazuha's safety after they think that the killer is actually Hikaru on a streak of revenge.
* When Heiji and Conan hear Kazuha and Ran scream, they rush to the kitchen and Heiji yells out her name in concern.
* After Kazuha blocks out her ears and says she doesn't want to hear about the strange occurrences in the house, Heiji reassures her with a smile that half of them have been solved already.
* Kazuha reassures Ran after they see a shortage in their gyoza that they can just make more if Heiji and Conan want to eat some.
* When Kogoro yells at Heiji through the phone if his daughter is alright, Heiji reassures him saying that she's making gyoza with Kazuha in the kitchen.
* Heiji calls Kazuha with his cellphone and Kazuha happily asks if Heiji wants some gyoza, informing him that there is plenty left if he was hungry.
* But when Heiji continues to talk with Kazuha over the phone, Kazuha tells him that she understood her task and hanged up. Asking Ran for some hairpins.
* When Heiji is confronting the real killer: Jouhei Hagawa about the coffin, he brings up that he immediately rushed to the room after Kazuha screamed when she saw the dead master.
* After the case is solved, Kazuha sits right next to Heiji in an exhausted state from being at the mansion up so late at night and making gyoza that she falls asleep on Heiji's shoulder. Causing Heiji to blush at the sudden physical contact from her.
* Heiji gives a look of disgust when he smells the amount of garlic that is all over Kazuha's body since she was up and eating garlic gyoza.

* When Heiji wakes up in the hospital the next morning, Kazuha is at his bedside. Heiji says her name softly and Kazuha gives him a gentle smile of relief.

* Heiji is worried when he learns that Kazuha has been kidnapped by the criminal through a phone call on his cellphone from her.
* Kazuha tries to warn Heiji through the phone before the criminal hangs up that they'll kill him and that he shouldn't come.
* Heiji is worried and concerned for Kazuha's well being and says her name twice in concern and finally gives up realizing that the connection has been lost.
* Before one of the other men in the temple could hurt Kazuha with their swords, Heiji quickly defends her by counter attacking him and pushing her behind him.
* Before Heiji and Kazuha leave the temple grounds, they are stopped by the rest of the men of the group and Heiji wraps his arm around Kazuha's shoulder protectively.
* Kazuha yells for Benkei to stop fighting because the Heiji there was an impostor which turns out to be Shinichi the entire time.

* Heiji tells Kazuha that he's going to distract the others while she runs and escapes. When Kazuha refuses, Heiji tells her again to run and leave with a serious look on his face. Causing Kazuha to say his name gently and finally agreeing to leave when she is told to escape.
* After Benkei and his gang were gathered up and arrested, Kazuha runs up to Heiji in relief and Heiji smiles at her as they reunite.
* Heiji corrects her on the mistake she made while she sang the Temari song again at the train station. Then he asks her where she learned the song in the first place.
* Kazuha tells Heiji about the time when they were children and how she had brought him along to go visit her relatives, dressing up in a Kimono and looking for him since he had left before she was finished with her preparations. When she didn't find him at the Castle grounds, she found a ball and began to play with it while singing the song her relatives taught her. With the Cherry Blossoms flying in the air, the whole scene turns out to be what Heiji saw when he woke up after being knocked out.
* Heiji realizes that Kazuha was his first love and he smiles fondly at the realization.
* Kazuha asks if Heiji had finally met his first love in Kyoto and if it was the dancer woman and Heiji tells her that he'll never tell her. Teasing that it'll be 1,500 years before he tells her.

* After Heiji reveals that Conan is with him, Kazuha gets angry saying that despite him telling her not to go visit Ran and Sonoko, he secretly invited Conan to spend the night at his house.

* Conan goes on to explain that Heiji and Kazuha have two places that they meet when they go out together: if they're taking the MRT they go to Neyagawa Station and if they're riding Heiji's motorcycle they meet up at Tomorogi Greenfield. Since Kazuha thought that they were taking Heiji's motorcycle, she thought they'd meet up at Tomorogi Greenfield instead of taking the MRT at Neyagawa Station.
* Heiji confirms this with a smile, replying that it's always been the same pattern whenever they go out to eat Okonomiyaki together. After his statement though, Heiji gets embarrassed about his dating habits with Kazuha as Conan smiles.
* When Kazuha finally comes up the escalator, Heiji greets her affectionately saying that she finally made it there. Kazuha angrily replies that it's his fault for not being clear with her on where they were going to meet up.
* Before a fight could start between Heiji and Kazuha, Conan comes between them and greets Kazuha as he asks if she'll be eating with them since he missed her. Kazuha happily replies that she will and that she's been wanting to see Conan as well. With a happy hop to her step, Kazuha tells Heiji and Conan to come with her as they finally head onto the MRT.
* Heiji states that Kazuha's mood changed really quickly and Conan replies that it was his fault that she was in a bad mood to begin with.
* While they're riding the MRT, Heiji and Kazuha are having a light hearted conversation as they smile at each other.

* After Kazuha calms Kaoru, she tells Heiji that the mother wasn't in the bathroom and Heiji starts to ponder if the mother had abandoned Kaoru to them since she looked to be only 20 years old. To which Kazuha explains that couldn't be the case before Kaoru started to cry again.
* Kazuha tells Heiji that she's going to change her diaper and that he needs to take out a fresh diaper and some wet wipes for her. Heiji complies and hands over the baby supplies to Kazuha as she starts to change Kaoru's diaper.
* After Kazuha takes off the diaper, she informs Heiji that Kaoru is actually a boy. Shocking Heiji and Conan as they lean over to see for themselves.
* Heiji goes on to explain to Kazuha that Kaoru could've been kidnapped by the lady who gave him over for them to watch since she didn't know how to properly dress the baby up as a boy.
* After Heiji, Kazuha, and Conan solve the mystery of the baby Kaoru, Heiji says to Kazuha that nothing beats a happy ending and that he may have read to deeply into the situation. Causing Kazuha to yell at him calling him a crime maniac. But Heiji retorts saying that it was her fault in the first place for agreeing to watch over the baby to begin with. They start having one of their married couple arguments.

Whilst the [[Detective Boys]] and [[Hiroshi Agasa|Agasa]] were eating, they were simultaneously discussing such topics concerning the hit music bands presently. That was when they contended Tokumi Nagasu, Sumika Kokonoe, and Mao Toya; supposedly the three of them are fans for that band. Under the lead of their friend - the waitress Yasuko Aijima, they absently sat on their respective seats. Thereafter, [[Ayumi Yoshida|Ayumi]], [[Genta Kojima|Genta]], and [[Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya|Mitsuhiko]], who happened to be inside the restaurant, discovered the presence of [[Sumiko Kobayashi|Mrs. Kobayashi]], [[Kazunobu Chiba|Detective Chiba]], and [[Shukichi Haneda]]. Considering the fact that each had their appropriate matches, every single lover would chill down.

At that time, the Detective Boys have decided to watch the love scenes of each person they met earlier, however when they returned, it was very strange: Kobayashi was eating with Chiba, while Taiko Meijin was eating with Naeko, and Shiratori was eating with Yumi; this shocks Conan while Haibara prepares to investigate and clarify and criticize this Triple Collab. However, before that happened, they notices Tokumi Nagasu suddenly falls off in her chair and seems to have died after eating the cake, this makes the whole group scream, attracting an even greater sky of anger than when the one that the Detective Boys just followed notice the scream.

They are very surprised when they meet each other at first and begin to question their respective match:
*Yumi starts asking Shukichi about Naeko first but before the latter can even defend herself, Shukichi asks about Yumi going out to eat with the broccoli-head, whom Shiratori’s hair looks similar to, which Shiratori didn't care about that much.
*Instead, he asks Kobayashi about Chiba, and before Kobayashi can say anything, Chiba answers quickly because he himself had no motive.
*When it is Chiba's turn to question Shukichi, he panics while Naeko asks Chiba back.
Until Conan interrupts this meaningless fighting so everyone can even focus on the poisoned victim.

Chiba is the one to start asking about the victim but Conan has already gotten the full information about the victim and just told Chiba, much to Naeko's surprise. This was because Agasa's group had divided the task of asking the victim's friends while the six were arguing. Haibara explains why they didn't let Sato and Takagi come, and from there forces the six of them to solve the poisoning case and give an explanation for today's incident in a fierce manner. So with that attitude, Shiratori sends Agasa's group out immediately, much to most annoyance since they usually let them on the scene (For us, this is not undeserved considering Haibara's attitude).

The police start questioning the suspects one by one:
*Starting with Aijima, she says that there might be maritozzi next month and her friends happened to be coming today so she wanted everyone to try it as a way to get feedback because those three friends always care about the taste of a dish. She was considered the most likely culprit because she was the one who prepared the dish, but Kokonoe turned the plate away when she wanted to take a picture and post it on social media. She also mentions the conflict between Nagasu and Kokonoe because Kokonoe broke her promise to only watch The Knight Hearts.
*Next is Kokonoe, she says that this was the first time she saw Toya dividing the food into separate plates, probably because Nagasu had eaten Toya's pizza while the latter was in the bathroom and the sooner was drunk. Then the two of them argued loudly over the said pizza.
*Finally, Toya, she confirms and is a bit surprised about Kokonoe's statement, she also mentions about dividing the pizza and why she did it. In addition, she also explains the reason for choosing this place as the meeting place because the previous times at the cafe in Haido City were boring enough, so Nagasu wanted to come here once.

While the three guys forget about solving the case and continue arguing because the testimony seem to not point out the culprit, Naeko and Kobayashi are seen discussing letting Conan join in solving the case, meanwhile, Conan sneezes because someone has mentioned him whilst hoping that this long-winded case could end soon.

==== Part 2 ====
What has to happen, happens, Conan receives a call from Yumi and is informed about the crime scene, the suspect's testimony, Conan also asks her some small questions about the victim and is immediately answered with the crime scene recording at that time. And with the selfie of the group of 4 people, Conan also realizes the truth of the case. However, suddenly before that, Yumi suddenly saw the heart symbol on the 7th of this month in Kobayashi's notebook when they were looking for Agasa's number to send the security tape, from there they decided to solve this case without Conan. But are the two people's deductions similar?

=== Resolution ===
<spoiler>The culprit is '''Yasuko Aijima'''. Yasuko killed Tokumi with poison that she ended up consuming with the fruit cream puff she ate.

Yasuko had actually poisoned the first chair Tokumi was sitting on and also purposely made it wobbly. When Tokumi notices the wobbliness, she'll think that her weight had broke the chair, and would sneakily try to swap to a different chair. When the lights went out for a little girl’s birthday celebration cake, Tokumi begin swapping her chair by grabbing the bottom while having it pressed against her legs and bottom, in this way avoiding the sounds created from dragging a chair. But by doing so, Tokumi had gotten the poison on her hands. After swapping the poisoned chair with the chair at the table beside, the poisoned chair, being at a different table, would now be considered irrelevant to the murder and there is less chance it would be checked for poison.

All Tokumi had to do was eat something with her hands and that would guarantee her death. Yasuko knew which chair Tokumi would sit on because in every group photo they’ve ever taken, Tokumi always stood on the right, believing that she looked better from that angle. After taking the group photo, everyone would naturally take the closest seat, thus Tokumi would always be sitting on the right. She also made sure that the group would sit at the table with poisoned chair by reserving that table for the group.

=== Motive ===
Mao and Sumika furiously ask why she would do such a thing as one wrong mistake could have killed them as well. However, she coldly states that she didn’t care as she wanted them all dead for causing the death of the former Knight Hearts member Kenya Shibumi.

Kenya had been secretly dating someone and he had been exposed after a photo of him with his girlfriend was posted online after a fan took the photo. His girlfriend was revealed to be Yasuko and after his relationship was exposed to the public, his reputation was ruined and he found it harder to produce music and get more sponsors. As a result, he resorted to drinking and one day when he was stumbling across the street intoxicated, he was hit by a car and killed.

Yasuko, being devastated, decided to track down the person who took and posted the photo. It turned out to be a female fan, who she asked to meet at a diner, where she told the fan that she and Kenya were genuinely in love and that the fan had no right to tell the world about them. However, to her shock, the fan revealed that she had learned about Kenya's whereabouts from Tokumi. To add insult to injury, she learned that Mao and Sumika were also present with Tokumi when this happened and they did nothing to stop her. This is why she wanted to kill mainly Tokumi, but also Mao and Sumika for betraying her and for causing the death of the man she loved.

Conan reveals to Haibara that the reason why Chiba, Shiratori, Shukichi, Naeko, Kobayashi, and Yumi had been meeting at that diner was because the three girls told their boyfriends about meeting on the 8th for a special event. The three men believed it to be a romantic date of some sort, and decided to consult the other girls for help to buy a gift for their respective girlfriends.

Ironically, Conan also reveals that all three girls had planned to go to a “Knight Hearts” concert with their boyfriends. They are shown together at the concert, the men, while reluctant at first, decide to enjoy the concert to the fullest.

Whilst the [[Detective Boys]] and [[Hiroshi Agasa|Agasa]] were eating, they were simultaneously discussing such topics concerning the hit music bands presently. That was when they contended Tokumi Nagasu, Sumika Kokonoe, and Mao Toya; supposedly the three of them are fans for that band. Under the lead of their friend - the waitress Yasuko Aijima, they absently sat on their respective seats. Thereafter, [[Ayumi Yoshida|Ayumi]], [[Genta Kojima|Genta]], and [[Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya|Mitsuhiko]], who happened to be inside the restaurant, discovered the presence of [[Sumiko Kobayashi|Mrs. Kobayashi]], [[Kazunobu Chiba|Detective Chiba]], and [[Shukichi Haneda]]. Considering the fact that each had their appropriate matches, every single lover would chill down.

At that time, the Detective Boys have decided to watch the love scenes of each person they met earlier, however when they returned, it was very strange: Kobayashi was eating with Chiba, while Taiko Meijin was eating with Naeko, and Shiratori was eating with Yumi; this shocks Conan while Haibara prepares to investigate and clarify and criticize this Triple Collab. However, before that happened, they notices Tokumi Nagasu suddenly falls off in her chair and seems to have died after eating the cake, this makes the whole group scream, attracting an even greater sky of anger than when the one that the Detective Boys just followed notice the scream.

They are very surprised when they meet each other at first and begin to question their respective match:
*Yumi starts asking Shukichi about Naeko first but before the latter can even defend herself, Shukichi asks about Yumi going out to eat with the broccoli-head, whom Shiratori’s hair looks similar to, which Shiratori didn't care about that much.
*Instead, he asks Kobayashi about Chiba, and before Kobayashi can say anything, Chiba answers quickly because he himself had no motive.
*When it is Chiba's turn to question Shukichi, he panics while Naeko asks Chiba back.
Until Conan interrupts this meaningless fighting so everyone can even focus on the poisoned victim.

Chiba is the one to start asking about the victim but Conan has already gotten the full information about the victim and just told Chiba, much to Naeko's surprise. This was because Agasa's group had divided the task of asking the victim's friends while the six were arguing. Haibara explains why they didn't let Sato and Takagi come, and from there forces the six of them to solve the poisoning case and give an explanation for today's incident in a fierce manner. So with that attitude, Shiratori sends Agasa's group out immediately, much to most annoyance since they usually let them on the scene (For us, this is not undeserved considering Haibara's attitude).

The police start questioning the suspects one by one:
*Starting with Aijima, she says that there might be maritozzi next month and her friends happened to be coming today so she wanted everyone to try it as a way to get feedback because those three friends always care about the taste of a dish. She was considered the most likely culprit because she was the one who prepared the dish, but Kokonoe turned the plate away when she wanted to take a picture and post it on social media. She also mentions the conflict between Nagasu and Kokonoe because Kokonoe broke her promise to only watch The Knight Hearts.
*Next is Kokonoe, she says that this was the first time she saw Toya dividing the food into separate plates, probably because Nagasu had eaten Toya's pizza while the latter was in the bathroom and the sooner was drunk. Then the two of them argued loudly over the said pizza.
*Finally, Toya, she confirms and is a bit surprised about Kokonoe's statement, she also mentions about dividing the pizza and why she did it. In addition, she also explains the reason for choosing this place as the meeting place because the previous times at the cafe in Haido City were boring enough, so Nagasu wanted to come here once.

While the three guys forget about solving the case and continue arguing because the testimony seem to not point out the culprit, Naeko and Kobayashi are seen discussing letting Conan join in solving the case, meanwhile, Conan sneezes because someone has mentioned him whilst hoping that this long-winded case could end soon.

==== Part 2 ====
What has to happen, happens, Conan receives a call from Yumi and is informed about the crime scene, the suspect's testimony, Conan also asks her some small questions about the victim and is immediately answered with the crime scene recording at that time. And with the selfie of the group of 4 people, Conan also realizes the truth of the case. However, suddenly before that, Yumi suddenly saw the heart symbol on the 7th of this month in Kobayashi's notebook when they were looking for Agasa's number to send the security tape, from there they decided to solve this case without Conan. But are the two people's deductions similar?

=== Resolution ===
<spoiler>The culprit is '''Yasuko Aijima'''. Yasuko killed Tokumi with poison that she ended up consuming with the fruit cream puff she ate.

Yasuko had actually poisoned the first chair Tokumi was sitting on and also purposely made it wobbly. When Tokumi notices the wobbliness, she'll think that her weight had broke the chair, and would sneakily try to swap to a different chair. When the lights went out for a little girl’s birthday celebration cake, Tokumi begin swapping her chair by grabbing the bottom while having it pressed against her legs and bottom, in this way avoiding the sounds created from dragging a chair. But by doing so, Tokumi had gotten the poison on her hands. After swapping the poisoned chair with the chair at the table beside, the poisoned chair, being at a different table, would now be considered irrelevant to the murder and there is less chance it would be checked for poison.

All Tokumi had to do was eat something with her hands and that would guarantee her death. Yasuko knew which chair Tokumi would sit on because in every group photo they’ve ever taken, Tokumi always stood on the right, believing that she looked better from that angle. After taking the group photo, everyone would naturally take the closest seat, thus Tokumi would always be sitting on the right. She also made sure that the group would sit at the table with poisoned chair by reserving that table for the group.

=== Motive ===
Mao and Sumika furiously ask why she would do such a thing as one wrong mistake could have killed them as well. However, she coldly states that she didn’t care as she wanted them all dead for causing the death of the former Knight Hearts member Kenya Shibumi.

Kenya had been secretly dating someone and he had been exposed after a photo of him with his girlfriend was posted online after a fan took the photo. His girlfriend was revealed to be Yasuko and after his relationship was exposed to the public, his reputation was ruined and he found it harder to produce music and get more sponsors. As a result, he resorted to drinking and one day when he was stumbling across the street intoxicated, he was hit by a car and killed.

Yasuko, being devastated, decided to track down the person who took and posted the photo. It turned out to be a female fan, who she asked to meet at a diner, where she told the fan that she and Kenya were genuinely in love and that the fan had no right to tell the world about them. However, to her shock, the fan revealed that she had learned about Kenya's whereabouts from Tokumi. To add insult to injury, she learned that Mao and Sumika were also present with Tokumi when this happened and they did nothing to stop her. This is why she wanted to kill mainly Tokumi, but also Mao and Sumika for betraying her and for causing the death of the man she loved.

=== Aftermath ===
Conan reveals to Haibara that the reason why Chiba, Shiratori, Shukichi, Naeko, Kobayashi, and Yumi had been meeting at that diner was because the three girls told their boyfriends about meeting on the 8th for a special event. The three men believed it to be a romantic date of some sort, and decided to consult the other girls for help to buy a gift for their respective girlfriends.

Ironically, Conan also reveals that all three girls had planned to go to a “Knight Hearts” concert with their boyfriends. They are shown together at the concert, the men, while reluctant at first, decide to enjoy the concert to the fullest.
