Fusae Campbell Kinoshita is a character in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan. She is Agasa’s long lost love and a designer of handbags with a ginkgo leaf themed brand.

Background
She is young looking for someone around fifty, has golden colored hair the color of Ginkgo leaves in fall, and wears a dark grey low hat as she has since she was a child. In elementary school she was afraid that people would make fun of her for her appearance because she looked different than everyone else. She has one foreign English speaking parent. Her stepdad has a friend named Billy whose wife likes the ginkgo leaf themed purses Fusae designs.

When she was in fourth grade, she fell in love with Agasa and he liked her in return, but she moved away before she said anything about her feelings for him. In a letter she left, she promised that once every ten years she would wait for Agasa at "the place of memories" until he met up with her. They finally reunited forty years later under the ginkgo trees behind Teitan elementary school.

Personality
Fusae has a kind and caring personality, evidenced when she loaned Ran her umbrella while waiting for Agasa ten years prior to the current timeline.

Plot overview
Agasa's first love case
Agasa met Fusae 40 years before the current timeline on the first day back from summer break the way to Okuho middle school. At the time Agasa was in 6th grade and Fusae in the 4th at Teitan Elementary. Fusae was too frightened to pass a house which had a large dog. Agasa helped her pass the house, and afterwards told Agasa she was afraid of animals because she had been bitten by a dog when she was little. To help Fusae get over her fear, Agasa took her over to the house of a friend who owned a hamster to help Fusae get over her fear of animals. She would later take care of the school's animals. Fusae was afraid of the hamster at first but overcame her fear of animals and was able to walk past the dog unafraid. All this time, Agasa had been walking with her to school every day.

One day under the Ginkgo trees behind Teitan Elementary where the animals were kept, her hat blew off revealing her brownish blond hair. She pleaded for Agasa not to look at her hair because she didn't want to be made fun of for looking different. Agasa instead tells her that he likes it and it is as beautiful as a ginkgo leaf.

Late in November, Fusae didn't appear one day, and Agasa found out she had suddenly moved away. Although she didn't tell Agasa she was leaving, Fusae had left a letter in Agasa's mailbox saying that She will meet with him again 10 years from that day, November 24, at "the place of memories". If Agasa didn't come, she would wait again for another ten years. Fusae left a riddle at the bottom of her letter "4163 33 6 0" and "Clue: Animals". Without knowing the answer, Agasa had tried the house with the hamster 30 years prior and the house with the dog 20 years prior but neither were correct. Conan wound up solving the riddle, revealing that the numbers corresponded to the number of letters in the English onomatopoetic sounds various animals make. 4163 was the school rooster's "cock-a-doodle-doo". 33 was the dog's "bow-wow". 6 was the hamster's "squeak", and 0 referred a Fusae's house which had no animals. They in turn referred to the places those animals were which when put together made the phrase "under Teitan Elementary's Ginkgo trees".

Fusae was waiting for Agasa under the Ginkgo trees with her stepfather's friend Billy. She didn't tell Agasa who she was, claiming to be someone who liked the colors of the ginkgo trees and that Billy was her husband. However, Conan recognized Fusae from ten years ago when she loaned Ran her umbrella and Ran promised to buy one of Fusae's designer purses in return when she got older. Fusae didn't want to tell Agasa who she was because she thought that the detective boys who were with Agasa were his grandchildren and was afraid he would be heart-broken that she had waited for him for forty years. She didn't think Agasa had remembered her, but he revealed he did when Agasa called after her that he still thinks ginkgo leaves are pretty. Fusae wants to return again in ten years, but Billy says that he thinks their next meeting will be much sooner than that.

Speculation
Connection with Akai Shuuichi
Kinoshita and Billy look very similar to the pair of people who Shuichi Akai asked to follow Yukiko Kudo and the detective boys at the film studio in chapter 419. Fusae spoke English and one of her parents was foreign and an English speaker. The name Billy suggests an American or at least English language connection which would fit make sense for FBI related people. Billy's line, “I think the next time you meet will be much sooner than that...” could have a deeper meaning. The cars the two pairs of people drove don’t match. Additionally, Kinoshita had a three person meal in her car, although only two people were present.

Other potential known character couples are ruled out. The shadow people are not James Black and Jodie Starling because neither Jodie nor James smoke. They can't be Tomoaki Araide and his housekeeper Hikaru Yasumoto either because they are out of the country under protection. They are not members of the Black Organization because they were working with Akai. None of the other FBI officers guarding Haido Central Hospital resemble the two shadow people.

Magican Kinoshita Yoshiro
Fusae may have had a father who was a magician who died for some unknown reason. When the members of the Magician lovers club were talking about their favorite magicians one of them mentioned liking one "Kinoshita Yoshiro". He shares the same last name as Kinoshita Fusae. Kinoshita Yoshiro is dead already, and it is stated that Kinoshita Fusae left suddenly for some reason during the school year and that she has a stepfather currently. The kanji spellings of the two’s last names (木之下) are identical, which is noteworthy because the spelling is a rarer variant. (The most common spelling is "木下".)

The first movie, known as Detective Conan: The Time-Bombed Skyscraper (名探偵コナン　時計じかけの摩天楼, Meitantei Conan: Tokei-jikake no matenrō) in Japan, was screened on April 19, 1997, directed by Michihiko Sawa and written by Kazunari Kochi. It was partly based on Gosho Aoyama's planned ending for Magic Kaito, on a chain of arson/bombing cases around Tokyo, intertwined with Ran's request for a date with Shinichi in a place destined to be bombed. It was released by FUNimation in 2006, and short of standard name changes, there was no significant changes to the English adaptation.

The second movie, known as Detective Conan: The Fourteenth Target (名探偵コナン 14番目の標的, Meitantei Conan Jūyon banme no Tagetto), in Japan, debuted on April 18, 1998, and the English version was released in 2007. Directed by Kanetsugu Kodama and written by Kazunari Kochi, it was about a case in which people close to Kogoro Mouri were attacked in a way similar to The A.B.C. Murders. This movie achieved a distributor's income of 1.05 billion yen. It was released by FUNimation as a DVD in 2007. Although the storyline remained the same, due to character name changes, there have been significant changes in the explanation of the names used.

The third movie, Detective Conan: The Last Wizard of the Century (名探偵コナン 世紀末の魔術師, Meitantei Conan Seikimatsu no Majutsushi), debuted on April 17, 1999. It was again written and directed by Kanetsugu Kodama and Kazunari Kochi respectively. This movie was on a newly-discovered Faberge egg that was subject to Kaitou Kid's warning—and a murder case that involves the descendant of Rasputin.

The fourth movie, Detective Conan: Captured in Her Eyes (名探偵コナン 瞳の中の暗殺者, Meitantei Conan Hitomi no Naka no Ansatsusha), was first screened on April 22, 2000. Directed and wrote by the same staff of the previous two movies, Captured in Her Eyes was about how Ran Mouri became entangled in a series of murder cases where police officers were victims, and when a failed murder attempt gave her amnesia and made herself another target of the killer. This movie achieved a box office income of 2.5 billion Japanese yen.

Keeping the director and writer of previous movies, in this movie the murder of a developer, the bombing of the latest development of the development, together with the Black Organization and Ai Haibara's suspicious phone calls, brought it box office receipts of 2.9 billion yen.

Edited from the main Detective Conan entry at Wikipedia:

Since 1997, there has been an animated Detective Conan movie released during Golden Week each year. With the exception of the first movie, all Detective Conan movies have been among of the highest-grossing movies in the year it was screened in Japan.

This movie achieved a distributor's income of 1.45 billion yen.

The fifth movie, Detective Conan: Countdown to Heaven (名探偵コナン 天国へのカウントダウン, Meitantei Conan Tengoku e no Kauntodaun), was first screened on April 21, 2001. Keeping the director and writer of previous movies, in this movie the murder of a developer, the bombing of the latest development of the development, together with the Black Organization and Ai Haibara's suspicious phone calls, brought it box office receipts of 2.9 billion yen.

The sixth movie, Detective Conan: The Phantom of Baker Street (名探偵コナン ベイカー街の亡霊, Meitantei Conan Beikā Sutorīto no Bōrei), was first shown on April 20, 2002. This movie was written by famed scriptwriter Hisashi Nozawa, but kept Kanetsugu Kodama as director. This movie was a double story: in real life, the murder of a IT magnate's chief programmer, while in the virtual world, a virtual reality game that Conan and friends played, their lives were in danger. This movie brought 3.4 billion yen at the box office.

The seventh movie, Detective Conan: Crossroad in the Ancient Capital (名探偵コナン 迷宮の十字路, Meitantei Conan Meikyū no Kurosurōdo), was first screened on April 19, 2003. The writer was again Kazunari Kochi while Kanetsugu Kodama was kept as the director. Staged in Kyoto, this movie concerned the unmasking of a gang of antique robbers. This was the first of Yasuichiro Yamamoto's Detective Conan movies, but Kazunari Kochi stayed as the writer. The movie was about a poisoning case on an airliner, and since the pilot and co-pilot were also affected, Conan Edogawa and Kaitou Kid were forced to take care of the lives of the passengers. The movie brought box office income of 2.8 billion yen.

The ninth movie, Detective Conan: Strategy Above the Depths (名探偵コナン 水平線上の陰謀, Meitantei Conan Suiheisenjō no Sutoratejī), was first screened on April 19, 2005. Edited from the main Detective Conan entry at Wikipedia:

Since 1997, there has been an animated Detective Conan movie released during Golden Week each year. With the exception of the first movie, all Detective Conan movies have been among of the highest-grossing movies in the year it was screened in Japan.

This movie achieved a distributor's income of 1.45 billion yen.

Since 1997, there has been an animated Detective Conan movie released during Golden Week each year. With the exception of the first movie, all Detective Conan movies have been among of the highest-grossing movies in the year it was screened in Japan.

Directed and wrote by the same staff of the previous two movies, Captured in Her Eyes was about how Ran Mouri became entangled in a series of murder cases where police officers were victims, and when a failed murder attempt gave her amnesia and made herself another target of the killer. Edited from the main Detective Conan entry at Wikipedia:

Since 1997, there has been an animated Detective Conan movie released during Golden Week each year. With the exception of the first movie, all Detective Conan movies have been among of the highest-grossing movies in the year it was screened in Japan.

It was partly based on Gosho Aoyama's planned ending for Magic Kaito, on a chain of arson/bombing cases around Tokyo, intertwined with Ran's request for a date with Shinichi in a place destined to be bombed.
Edited from the main Detective Conan entry at Wikipedia:

Since 1997, there has been an animated Detective Conan movie released during Golden Week each year. With the exception of the first movie, all Detective Conan movies have been among of the highest-grossing movies in the year it was screened in Japan.

Edited from the main Detective Conan entry at Wikipedia:

Since 1997, there has been an animated Detective Conan movie released during Golden Week each year. With the exception of the first movie, all Detective Conan movies have been among of the highest-grossing movies in the year it was screened in Japan.
