One morning, while having breakfast at the ''Café Poirot'' along with [[Kogoro Mouri|Kogoro]] and [[Ran Mouri|Ran]], [[Conan Edogawa|Conan]] notices a strange, glum-looking customer sitting at a table, eating ham sandwiches instead of the regular breakfast selection and without having consulted the menu, which indicates him as a regular client. What makes the guest so peculiar is that he has his eyes constantly fixed on [[Rei Furuya|Tooru Amuro]] while he is working.

The mysterious man is revealed by Conan to be a baker. He has been stalking Rei in order to find out how to replicate the ham sandwiches Rei prepares for the ''Poirot'' customers, after he had once had breakfast at the café after hearing about how the sandwiches' quality had drastically improved lately, and found them extremely delicious. However, despite all efforts, he has not been able to replicate their unique flavor on his own. Upon learning the motive, and much to the surprise of the [[Detective Boys]], Rei happily teaches the man his unique method of making sandwiches.

After the baker comes by the café once more for a sandwich breakfast and to ask Amuro whether he may actually sell those sandwiches to his customers (something Amuro readily agrees to), Amuro suddenly gets a call from [[Vermouth]], who warns him not to take his current "secret investigation" too deeply, lest it arouses [[Gin]]'s undue attention.</spoiler>

* In this episode, while discussing about the mysterious customer real identity, Conan and Rei also freely converse being possible member of, about the members of the [[Black Organization]], as well as about [[Public_Security_Bureau]], which is the first such occurence since [[The Scarlet Return]].
