Chosuke Takagi is a police detective and [[Juzo Megure|Megure]]'s senior by two years. He was moved from Tokyo to Tottori in order to help with the investigation of a large crime syndicate there.

Chosuke was shown to be very aggressive at times in an investigation. Once he grabbed Chiba by the collar and slammed him against the wall just to ask him for confirmation to a question. He is also very efficient at investigating, taking notice of minor details and connecting the dots rather quickly. He suspected Chiba of lying to protect his friend in the first case he appeared in, because he believed that as a police detective he had to suspect everyone no matter how good they are.

Chosuke first appeared in one of the Police Detective love cases, in which the other Tokyo police thought [[Wataru Takagi]] was being sent to Tottori. Chosuke investigated a crime with [[Miwako Sato|Sato]] and Takagi that involved a friend of [[Kazunobu Chiba|Chiba]]'s. After the case was solved, Takagi found out that it was Chosuke being sent to Tottori and not him.

== Background ==
Jinpei Matsuda was originally a member of the Tokyo Police bomb squadron. His partner [[Kenji Hagiwara]] was killed four years previously by a serial bomber in Shinjuku<ref>The license plate number of his murderer's car, a 1992 Gray Toyota Corolla Van DX [E100], in the anime version is 新宿 400, せ 12-75 (Shinjuku 400, Se 12-75).</ref> who had sworn revenge on the police for the accidental death of his partner. When the killer resurfaced three years ago, Matsuda's superiors, fearing that he would become reckless due to personal interest, transferred him to [[Juzo Megure|Megure]]'s department, where he was promptly partnered with [[Miwako Sato]], then a rather new detective.

Sato was at first put off by his direct manner, but then the bomber appeared in their district less than a week later, depositing an explosive charge in a Ferris wheel at an amusement park. When Matsuda attempted to disarm the bomb, the killer trapped him inside and revealed the existence of yet another bomb hidden in the city. As the countdown of the Ferris wheel bomb would wind down, the name of the second bomb's location would be gradually displayed, claiming a policeman's life for the life of innocents, as the bomber had intended. Matsuda sent the bomb location to Sato via SMS just as the final seconds ran out, his last thoughts being regret that he would not be able to drink to his partner's memory following the apprehension of the culprit.<ref>Manga Chapter 371: Serial Bomber Case</ref>

Matsuda's death haunted Sato for years to come, as she had fallen in love with him, and she kept his final message on her cell phone as a reminder of him. == Personality ==
Upon his transfer to the Tokyo Metropolian Police, Sato found Matsuda rather blunt and aloof, since he spoke out his mind no matter what anybody would think. However, despite his personal interest in the case which eventually claimed his life, Matsuda remained cool and professional, placing the safety of Sato, for whom he had come to care as well, and innocents over his own life, qualities which had won Sato's heart.

=== Miwako Sato ===
Jinpei was [[Miwako Sato]]'s love interest who died inside the Ferris Wheel planted with a bomb, where he waited for the last few seconds before the explosion of the bomb in order to obtain the clue to figuring out the culprit behind the bombing cases. While Sato originally found him cold and aloof, they still grew close and cared deeply about each other, falling in love at some point of time after he transferred to Sato's division and met her. His death haunted Sato for a long period of time, and she kept his last message to her in her cell phone as a memento of him. However, Sato was able to let go of Jinpei's death following the apprehension of the bomb culprit as well as Takagi's advice towards her and also deleted his last message to her as a sign of putting his death behind her. Regardless, Sato vows to never forget about him. She has also apparently cultivated a slight fear of Ferris Wheels as shown when she was stunned and shocked upon seeing a Ferris Wheel while chasing a culprit in the amusement park, when she had been on a date with Takagi some time after, to the point that it caused her legs to give in and for her to burst into tears.

Jinpei and [[Kenji Hagiwara]] were really good friends and always did missions together. They also attended the same police academy. Although Jinpei was more careful to his friend, Kenji was more carefree. On Kenji's last mission, Jinpei called him like he always did and chated with him and told him he should have worn his bomb defusal suit to which Kenji replied he was fine. Unfortunately for him, he died, and Jinpei decided to avenge him although himself died at the hands of the same bomber four years later. Although Kenji died, Jinpei still sent mails to his email even after.

It started when [[Conan Edogawa|Conan]], [[Ai Haibara|Haibara]], [[Hiroshi Agasa|Professor Agasa]], and the [[Detective Boys]] are in the hotel hall, winning a cake buffet in the game "spin the wheel". They meet Saya Kitami after the toy helicopter was put on [[Genta Kojima|Genta]]'s cake, and a later while they meet Kyona Shono. The two famous actresses hate each other. They made a bet about the popularity of their blog: the one who will lose will have her hair shaved. Conan and the others leave the hotel after eating, but Conan notices that [[Sakurako Yonehara]] is asking for a key to Kyona's room, who she was supposed to wake up. After explaining to Conan that Kyona is not replying in her room, every one rushes in Kyona's room, and discovers her dead body on the floor.

Conan discovers that secret Kyona has discovered, but he doubts that it's something that was worth killing for, until he sees something else in the picture. He realize that the locked room hadn't been her intention at the beginning. The police are still baffled at the crime scene. Takagi and Megure decides to call their superintendent for orders, when the door bell rings. Megure sees through the peek hole that it's Professor Agasa standing outside, but when he opens the door, he finds Conan instead who tells them that they needs to come down to Saya's room below. While Megure is a bit doubtful, Takagi, who has been on the phone with the superintendent, says that they are being ordered to do as Conan says. In Saya's room, Conan uses Professor Agasa's voice to explain his deduction.

<spoiler>The culprit is '''Saya Kitami''', who is actually 29 years old. She used a recording of Sakurako to lure Kyona into opening the door for her. The murder weapon was Kyona Shono's selfie stick, which Saya took to her own apartment. She used her toy helicopter in order to close Kyona's apartment door and leave the card inside. Her motive was that she thought Kyona knew she had accidentally killed an old man in a car accident and fled the crime scene, but Conan reveals that the only secret Kyona knew was that Saya was actually five years older than she claimed to be. The unhappy misunderstanding happened because that Saya saw a manga series in the picture with the titel 'The hit and run of love' and thought that Kyona was referring to 'Hit and Run' which in English means to cause an accident with a car and flee the scene. But in the same picture was another manga series that was set up so the numbers replaced with hiragana in a simple number code would form the sentence 'Saya is 29 years old.' With this revelation, Saya breaks down in tears as she had murdered Kyona for no reason at all.

Afterwards, [[Police Organization#Superintendent (Rank 5)|Superintendent]] [[Hyoue Kuroda]] arrives on the crime scene and announces that since Superintendent [[Kiyonaga Matsumoto]] has been promoted as [[Police Organization#Senior Superintendent (Rank 4)|Senior Superintendent]] of the [[Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department]], he will be taking his place. Conan and Haibara are shocked, as Kuroda tells Conan that he's looking forward to working with him.</spoiler>

== Background ==
She is a recent transferred student that is in the same class as the [[Detective Boys]] in Teitan Primary School Class 1-B, along with [[Takuma Sakamoto]]. She likes dice and speaks with Kansai dialect which means she and her parents must come from that region. Her parents work at an office and don't have time to stay all day with her. Also, her paternal grandparents' house is just in front of her house. In one case, she went missing since she didn't go to school and her parents didn't see her either which made the Detective Boys search for her. It in fact turned out that she just fell asleep in her grandparents' house. It is proven in a picture that she once went to [[Tropical Land]] with her grandparents.

She is a shy and timid little girl that had difficulty to integrate herself in the class so [[Sumiko Kobayashi]], her teacher, decided to pretend to be missing so kids would team together and include her as part of the group.
