The culprit is '''Jouhei Hagawa'''. Hikaru Hinohara was actually Hakuya's daughter due to the will and DNA report found in his room. The tunnel that he was escaping in was made for Hikaru. Hakuya bought clothes as gifts to Hikaru because he wants to find out her body size to see how wide to make the tunnel. He wanted Hikaru to do the serial murder plan that he made for her. All the tricks done was he was to tell her when she was at the foreign torture in the morning but Jouhei intercepted the message on her phone. Foreseeing that he'd get back together with Mina and he did the plan and try to get the money that way. Hakuya committed suicide to make the tricks work. Along with the plan there is his cellphone, the keys the freezer and the switch to blow up the tunnel. The motive was avenge Youko whose accidental was actually plotted by Jouhei, Shimizu, Kamiyo and Asanobu. Since Hakuya was a doctor he must've drugged Shimizu with something to thin out her blood and drew it out from artery at her neck with a catheter. Jouhei snuck over to he hding space underneath the coffin and retreived the head using a secret passage.

Because she couldn't open the car without them, her son who has asthma was locked inside the car for several hours. When he got sent to the hospital, it was already too late and he died. So Yuriko researched about that pickpocket on the Internet and hung out at places where she frequently appears.

Hello Noki25valenz, thank you for uploading pictures of people but size number of width and length looks different. For example, when you upload Susumu Nakamura, it was 219 × 243 pixels. Make those numbers equal to same like 219 × 219 or 243 × 243 pixels. Next time, try to upload into square shape as in 225 × 225 pixels. Can you fix Kouji Yatsukawa picture again? It looks like the picture's been stretched out horizontally. Make it look exactly the same picture as my uploaded picture before. :No, no, no. Not the same size. I mean make it not look stretched out horizontally. Like what you did on Tamanosuke Ito picture. It looks good. Tamanosuke picture looks good that it didn't stretched out so it looks good. I reverted Yukiko Katsuragi and Takayoshi Tsujimura because their faces looked stretched out horizontally. Upload it again when you create same picture of the white background. What you did on Natsue Hatamoto and Joji Hatamoto. They look good! Do it like that! You understand? Three pictures you need to fix, Kouji Yatsukawa, Yukiko Katsuragi, and Takayoshi Tsujimura. Make it not stretched out horizontally.

To upload a picture is VERY simple. All you had to do is go to the toolbox, go to upload file, and upload the picture by putting name what you are going to name it like something.jpg and browse it from what you just named. Here's an example: If I want to upload Conan Edogawa, I make a picture, name it "Conan Edogawa.jpg". Go to toolbox, go to upload file, browse the picture from your folder or something. When you browse it, you upload it and you put a picture into this wiki! Wa-Lah! Lol Of course you upload pictures before in people boxes like there is a red link of something.jpg right? You just name something.jpg and gives red link of what to upload a picture. If you're going to put gallery in episode article, make sure you type 2 equal signs, Gallery, and 2 equal signs to create Gallery sub section title in between "Resolution" and "See also". And to put something under Gallery. You'll get this

The death characters were coincidental flukes made by candies and a thumb edge in Kooriyama's case, and coins, the edge of a wallet, and a cigarette in Isao's case. Megure correctly ruled '''Isao's case''' to be a '''theft''' as some thieves stole Isao's wallet post-mortem. The thieves returned to the crime scene and attacked Sera, Ran, Sonoko, and Conan to cover their involvement in the theft. A little Jeet Kun Do, karate, and a well placed soccer ball dispatched the thieves easily. Sera's thoughts at the end of the episode seem to indicate she knows something about Shinichi's past.

Conan and Ran enjoy the view from a luxury cruise ship, whose owners are charitably giving them a ride back to Tokyo since Kogoro forgot the departure time of their original boat. Conan and Ran notice another passenger, Natsue Hatamoto, who just married her husband, Takeshi, on the island they just left. Natsue's grandfather, Gozo, the head of the Hatamoto family and businesses, rants at the eldest son, Kitarou, for allowing non-family members onto the ship. Natsue's uncle, Joji Hatamoto, muses that Gozo's bad mood is likely from Joji cooking Western rather than traditional food. Gozo also belittles Kitarou's son, Ichirou, for being an artist and pursuing a hopeless dream. Gozo then orders Takeshi to come visit his room before dinner, and leaves.[[File:EP22-23 Gallery 1.jpg|thumb|left|Gozo orders Takeshi to come visit his room before dinner.]] After he leaves, the disdain his descendants feel for him is revealed as Kitarou's wife, Mariko, Natsue's older sister, Akie, and Akie's husband, Tatsuo, argue over who will inherit everything after Gozo finally dies. Akie whispers shocking information to Mariko and mentions that there is only the twenty-four hours of the cruise to try to change anything.

Meanwhile, Gozo confronts Takeshi over the fact that Takeshi's identity is fake, and demands to know how he intends to avenge his father, though how Gozo wronged Isao Zaiki is not mentioned. Takeshi does not answer, but someone in the shadows overhears the conversation. As the family assembles for dinner, the butler goes to summon Gozo and finds the flower that Natsue gave Takeshi earlier just outside the door. Takeshi arrives at dinner a bit late and says he was thinking alone in his room, just before the butler's yell summons everyone to discover Gozo's dead body.

The family argues suicide, but Conan proves that it was murder by the blood spatters on the doorframe that could have only have occurred with the door open. After being stabbed, Gozo closed the door and locked it from the inside, but then died from blood loss. The timing, however, means the culprit could have been anyone not in the dining room 40-50 minutes ago, which leaves the entire Hatamoto family but Natsue.
Kenji reports that the only unusual thing he noticed was a flower in front of the door—the flower Natsue had given to Takeshi. Takeshi denies guilt, but Mariko reports overhearing his conversation with Gozo about how he was son of a Zaiki Isao, a business rival who committed suicide after the Hatamoto group took over his company. Takeshi confessed to being Zaiki Takehiko, but denies having murdered Gozo in the face of repeated accusations from the Hatamoto family members, and Natsue's heartbroken doubt of his innocence. Conan ignores the drama to inspect the scene, and discovers something odd in the blood spatter.

The odd thing is a bloody piece of bread crust. Conan learns from Kenji that the wedding meal included french bread made by Joji, chef and manager of a french restaurant. Gozo hated Western style food, but any of the family ate and could have dropped the bread, and Joji owns cooking knives. Takeshi is locked in a storeroom to await arrest when the ship docks in Tokyo. The family minus Natsue, who has run off alone in distress, discuss the inheritance (and inadvertently reveal why they could benefit from Gozo's death), until Kenji reveals that rather than defaulting into division between members, a will designates Natsue as sole heir. No one takes the news well, though Kogoro tries to keep them calm. Ran and Conan find Natsue outside, afraid she can't trust Takeshi to have loved her. Ran encourages Natsue to believe in him. Conan hears strange sounds — a splash, and then a dull thud — from the lower deck, and after a moment he, Ran, and Natsue investigate only to find Tatsuo dead.

The empty storeroom appears to confirm Takeshi's guilt. After reviewing the crime, Kogoro speculates that Takeshi may intend to kill the whole family, and they should gather for the rest of the night together in the dining hall. Akie and Mariko blame Natsue for giving Takeshi access to the family, but Conan interjects that Takeshi's guilt isn't proven, because the room had to be opened from the outside. Someone let him out.
While Akie and Mariko argue further about motives and blame, Ran notices Ichiro's sketches of Natsue, which embarrasses him and bring him to Akie's attention. She accuses him and Kitaro of having motives to kill both, before Kogoro interrupts and orders everyone to calm down. Ichiro leaves to use the restroom. While he's gone, Joji suggests that Tatsuo may have let Takeshi out himself, with a plausible reasoning. Suddenly, a blackout occurs. Kogoro sends Ran and Conan to check on Ichiro while he restores the power, and they arrive to find Ichiro alive, but stabbed in the leg.

Ichiro denies having seen his attacker, but the knife on the floor is engraved with Joji's name. Joji claims the dining hall as an alibi for everyone but Takeshi, but Kogoro reveals that the blackout occurred on its own due to a timing device anyone could have set up. Conan studies the device carefully while Kogoro promises to find Takeshi. The family remain in the dining hall while Kogoro, Ran, Conan, and Kenji search the ship, including the rooms. In Kitaro's room, Kenji mentions that Mariko and Kitaro are cousins, who were close since childhood and married despite Gozo's disapproval. Joji's room reveals that two knives from his collection are missing; Ichiro's room contains nothing besides an easel sketchpad full of well-drawn pictures of Natsue and typical art supplies. The other rooms reveal nothing except for Akie's, where Conan sees something surprising in the closet but claims that nothing is there. Conan asks Kenji a whispered question that shocks the butler how he could possibly know a closely kept secret of one of the family. Kenji's confirmation resolves the three incidents in Conan's mind, and he lures Kogoro back into Akie's room and knocks him out using Agasa's latest invention, the Stun-Gun Wristwatch. Conan tells Ran to gather the family on Kogoro's behalf, and drags Kogoro's sleeping form into a chair facing away from the door to look normal. Ran and the others arrive after Conan hides out of sight, and Conan uses the bow-tie to explain that he knows who the criminal is.

Gozo Hatamoto's grandson, Ichiro was a skilled artist who specialized in charcoal drawing, and breadcrumbs can be used as erasers when drawing with charcoal. The crumbs were stained not only in blood, but in charcoal; they likely were inside Ichiro's sleeve and were released as he struggled with Gozo.
** In contrast, the white flower that was found in said crime scene (the main "evidence" against Takeshi, who wore it on his lapel) lacked of any blood stains, therefore Conan deduced that it was "planted" in the scene to make it look like Takeshi was the killer.
** Takeshi "ran away" from the storeroom he was thrown into... but the door could NOT be opened from the inside due to how it was built. Therefore, it was impossible for him to simply open the door and run away, so someone should have released him from the outside. Ichiro did that to make everyone believe Takeshi was on the loose and ready to kill again; in reality, Takeshi ''did'' run away once he noticed the door was open... but by then he found out about Tatsuo's death and heard the tearful Akie blame him for the murder, so he hid in the closet in Gozo's studio to wait for any outcomes.
** The murder of Tatsuo was not pre-planned. He actually was killed by Ichiro because he saw him drop the knife he used to kill Gozo in the sea, so Ichiro panicked again and beat him with the first blunt object he found: a metal pipe.
** Ichiro's attacker was... himself. He used a trick to make the lights go out, and once this happened he stole his uncle's cooking knife, locked himself in the bathroom and stabbed his own leg, blaming Takeshi for it. It's hard to believe that a struggle in the dark would result in someone being stabbed merely in a non-lethal spot, but in the heat of the moment no one would really notice.

The killer was '''Ichiro Hatamoto''', Gozo's grandson and Natsue's cousin and unlucky childhood friend. He had not straightforwardly intended to kill his grandfather, but after dinner they got into a very ugly verbal fight. Ichiro couldn't withstand Gozo's abusive treatment and attacked his grandfather, and in the middle of the struggle he took a knife that was on the table and stabbed him to death.

Once he realized what he had done, Ichiro started to cover his own steps, making everyone believe that Natsue's husband Takeshi (and his love rival) was the real killer. Takeshi himself had reasons to be angry at Gozo Hatamoto: his family owned a small business that was absorbed by the Hatamoto company (causing the suicide of Takeshi's dad) and Gozo himself not only knew it, but he abused Takeshi because of it, thinking that he was a mere gold digger (which he wasn't, since he ''did'' truly care for Natsue). Therefore, Ichiro easily dropped fake leads that led to Takeshi being blamed for Gozo's death, and later for Tatsuo's.

Ichiro Hatamoto, as explained, was madly in love with Natsue, which was indicated when his sketchbook was revealed with nothing but drawings of Natsue. But Gozo had repeatedly said no when he asked him if he could marry her, and kept mistreating Ichiro afterwards; this specific time, Gozo's taunts were directed to Ichiro himself, calling him a failure to the Hatamoto family and telling him to give up his dreams.

It should be noted that in Japanese society, first cousin marriage is relatively acceptable and not that unheard of. Ichiro's own parents Mariko and Kitaro actually were first cousins and in love ever since they were teenagers; 25 years ago they did manage to get Gozo's approval for their marriage, but it actually took them lots of time and much pleading with the old man. Therefore, Gozo was furious when he saw that his least favorite grandson was developing feelings for his favorite granddaughter, whom he also had appointed as his only heir.

* In the manga, while waiting for Ichiro to return from the restroom, Joji Hatamoto comes up with a thought that the one who released Takeshi from the storeroom was the murdered Tatsuo Hatamoto. His theory: Upon learning that the entire inheritance was to be passed on to Natsue only, and not wanting to be cut off, Tatsuo released Takeshi and offered to help prove his innocence in return for a considerable share of the inheritance, and Takeshi, on the pretence of wanting to negotiate with him further, lured Tatsuo to the boat deck where he attacked him there. This is not depicted in the anime.
* In the anime, there is an additional scene not depicted in the manga: After the case is solved, Natsue and Takeshi have a small talk on the boat deck in which Takeshi confessed that he did indeed intially joined the Hatamoto family for revenge, but abandoned his motive after realizing that he had developed genuine feelings for Natsue, and the two make up. Conan and Ran are shown overhearing the conversation.

Tamanosuke picture looks good that it didn't stretched out so it looks good. I reverted Yukiko Katsuragi and Takayoshi Tsujimura because their faces looked stretched out horizontally. Upload it again when you create same picture of the white background. What you did on Natsue Hatamoto and Joji Hatamoto. They look good! Do it like that! You understand? To upload a picture is VERY simple. All you had to do is go to the toolbox, go to upload file, and upload the picture by putting name what you are going to name it like something.jpg and browse it from what you just named. Here's an example: If I want to upload Conan Edogawa, I make a picture, name it "Conan Edogawa.jpg". Go to toolbox, go to upload file, browse the picture from your folder or something. When you browse it, you upload it and you put a picture into this wiki! Wa-Lah! Lol Of course you upload pictures before in people boxes like there is a red link of something.jpg right? You just name something.jpg and gives red link of what to upload a picture. If you're going to put gallery in episode article, make sure you type 2 equal signs, Gallery, and 2 equal signs to create Gallery sub section title in between "Resolution" and "See also". And to put something under Gallery. You'll get this

While Kogoro and the group are watching a news report on a recent bank robbery, Amuro stops by with sandwiches from the Poirot after finishing his part time job for the day. After commenting on the robbery, Amuro reveals that he wants the scoop on Kogoro's newest case request after deducing from Kogoro's appearance and habits that Kogoro had a case. Kogoro gets a text from the client requesting that Kogoro switch the meeting location to the Café Columbo, and Amuro goes with them after changing out of his work clothes.

At the Columbo, Kogoro explains to Amuro the request was to find the locker a key belongs to. The client fails to show, so Amuro, Kogoro, Conan, and Ran go back to the Mouri Detective Agency to make sure the client didn't actually turn up there instead. When Amuro arrives at the agency, he and Conan notice someone had broken in and appeared to have intercepted the client while they were out. Stepping outside, Amuro explains his deductions to the rest of the gang and that the culprit is hiding in the restroom. Before Amuro can open the bathroom door, a gunshot rings out, and Conan rushes in to find a dead man who apparently committed suicide with a gun and a taped-up crying woman.

From the evidence that Conan gathered during time at the gas station, he concluded that Kei Kashitsuka's real name is '''Serina Urakawa''', a bank employee where the recent robbery took place. Serina isn't Kenya Shouno's younger sister but is his lover. The name Kei Kashitsuka actually belong to the man that Serina murdered at Mouri Detective Agency, using shoe rope trick to pull the trigger. Her motive is to kill the three robbers that was resposible for Kenya's death and so she tracked down his friend named Kei Kashitsuka. However she stumble across one of Kei's friend(one of the robber) and in self-defense, killed him. After planted several listening devices, Serina heard that Kei will request Kogoro to search for the rest of money's location and so she ambushed him at the agency. She used stun-gun on him, switched their belonging and used the trick described above to make it seem that she's a victim.

Conan then furthered his deduction by saying that he know that Serina will commit suicide after she murdered the third robber. Serina then accepted his condition and so he told her that the third robber's true identity is '''Takayo Tegawa'''. From the footage and information from Serina, Conan concluded that the third robber's true identity is '''Takayo Tegawa''' as both Toyokita and Furiya are right-handed (Tegawa is the only left-handed person). Tegawa's suspicious actions are also serve as an evidence, she bought beef-bowl rice to change the 10,000 yen bills number and she switched off her phone to prevent the police to find her. After the deduction Serina agreed to turn herself in but she said that one thing is wrong, she only took '''2 guns''' from Kei Kashitsuka's hideout, alerting Conan that the third one must still in Tegawa's possession.

Tegawa then burst into the car and took Conan as hostage to force Serina to drive to a place where there is no one around. Fortunately, Okiya's car arrived at the scene just as they started driving away. According to the tracking device, Haibara figured out that Conan was inside that car. They informed Kogoro about this information, and Amuro then noticed their car running pass them on the other side of the street. While Kogoro and the group are watching a news report on a recent bank robbery, Amuro stops by with sandwiches from the Poirot after finishing his part time job for the day. After commenting on the robbery, Amuro reveals that he wants the scoop on Kogoro's newest case request after deducing from Kogoro's appearance and habits that Kogoro had a case. Kogoro gets a text from the client requesting that Kogoro switch the meeting location to the Café Columbo, and Amuro goes with them after changing out of his work clothes.

At the Columbo, Kogoro explains to Amuro the request was to find the locker a key belongs to. The client fails to show, so Amuro, Kogoro, Conan, and Ran go back to the Mouri Detective Agency to make sure the client didn't actually turn up there instead. When Amuro arrives at the agency, he and Conan notice someone had broken in and appeared to have intercepted the client while they were out. Stepping outside, Amuro explains his deductions to the rest of the gang and that the culprit is hiding in the restroom. Before Amuro can open the bathroom door, a gunshot rings out, and Conan rushes in to find a dead man who apparently committed suicide with a gun and a taped-up crying woman.

From the evidence that Conan gathered during time at the gas station, he concluded that Kei Kashitsuka's real name is '''Serina Urakawa''', a bank employee where the recent robbery took place. Serina isn't Kenya Shouno's younger sister but is his lover. The name Kei Kashitsuka actually belong to the man that Serina murdered at Mouri Detective Agency, using shoe rope trick to pull the trigger. Her motive is to kill the three robbers that was resposible for Kenya's death and so she tracked down his friend named Kei Kashitsuka. However she stumble across one of Kei's friend(one of the robber) and in self-defense, killed him. After planted several listening devices, Serina heard that Kei will request Kogoro to search for the rest of money's location and so she ambushed him at the agency. She used stun-gun on him, switched their belonging and used the trick described above to make it seem that she's a victim.

Conan then furthered his deduction by saying that he know that Serina will commit suicide after she murdered the third robber. Serina then accepted his condition and so he told her that the third robber's true identity is '''Takayo Tegawa'''. From the footage and information from Serina, Conan concluded that the third robber's true identity is '''Takayo Tegawa''' as both Toyokita and Furiya are right-handed (Tegawa is the only left-handed person). Tegawa's suspicious actions are also serve as an evidence, she bought beef-bowl rice to change the 10,000 yen bills number and she switched off her phone to prevent the police to find her. After the deduction Serina agreed to turn herself in but she said that one thing is wrong, she only took '''2 guns''' from Kei Kashitsuka's hideout, alerting Conan that the third one must still in Tegawa's possession.

Tegawa then burst into the car and took Conan as hostage to force Serina to drive to a place where there is no one around. Fortunately, Okiya's car arrived at the scene just as they started driving away. According to the tracking device, Haibara figured out that Conan was inside that car. They informed Kogoro about this information, and Amuro then noticed their car running pass them on the other side of the street. He increased the speed to catch up with the trio, and crashed his own car into theirs in order to stop it. Conan finally deduces where the Blush Mermaid is. He decides to use "Sleeping Kogoro" to show everyone his explanation but he gets shook by Ran and the needle hits Sonoko whom Conan now has to use. Through her, he explains that the jewel never went anywhere but it was just made to vanish. He asks Kogoro to drop his lighter in the tank and to his surprise, it gets stuck on the plate of the tank which has a magnet. Kogoro and Nakamori question that how can the jewel get attracted to the magnet as gold and diamonds do not attract magnets. Conan solves this confusion by revealing that because the diamonds were synthetic. There is a solvent of iron mixed and not only that, apart from the magnet there is also glue and turtle feed on the plate which is why the turtle got stuck. As for where the turtle is Conan reveals that Jirokichi has it. When Nakamori questions him on why did he take his own jewel Conan explains that Jirokichi removed it and kept it with himself after he found a card from Kaitou Kid near his foot which threatened him to take the jewel and keep it with himself if he doesn't want anybody to know that he spent a fortune to buy it from an Italian actress.

While going back Conan privately exposes Kaitou Kid who is under the disguise of Masumi Sera. When Kid asks how did he know, Conan tells him that it was because of the magnet and that he was holding the magnet with him and the trick wouldn't work unless he split everyone into groups to do a body search. Conan also notes the fact that Kid was surprised when Ran and Sonoko wanted to group with him was because from above he thought Sera was a boy. When Kid surprisingly asks that Sera was a girl. Conan says yes but let Kid go because of the help he gave them during the mystery train case by disguising as Shiho Miyano. Conan comments that only he will forgive him and referring to Sera, who running in her underpants kicks Kid in the face but before she can catch him he escapes with his hang glider. Sera then tells them that she had gone to the men's restroom where Kid knocked her out with a stun-gun because the ladies room was filled and that she wanted to get it done. Conan secretly comments that he understands why Kid made a mistake. Sera then asks Ran whether she say any strange man when she picked up her hat to which Ran asks her why is the hat so special to her. She says that her "late brother" (referring to Shuichi Akai) used to wear hats like these and she is wearing them to copy Akai. She also comments on how the hat Ran found had the same wear of shape that he had in his hats but that there is no way it could be possible.

?? I never said anything about changing Kaito or Kaitou or adding "i"s. I don't think you understand romanizing practices/what I was talking about. :/ What I'm suggesting is that we come up with a standard way of romanizing names. Right now we're all over the place. We romanize Miwako's last name as "Sato" yet we romanize Ran's last name as "Mouri". "Sato" contains a long "o" sound and if we write it out using the same rule we do for "Mouri", "Sato" would be spelled "Satou". But since a majority of the names on this wiki do not have the long vowels listed (for example we write "Kazuha Toyama" not "Kazuha Tooyama") I think it'd be best if we simply drop long vowels and make our romanization consistent. This means "Mouri" would become "Mori" to match the way all the other names on this wiki are written. The only one I suggest remaining the same is "Kaitou Kid" because seeing the long "o" sound (the "ou") helps distinguish Kid from Kaito Kuroba. I have no intention on changing how we spell Kaitou Kid or Kaito Kuroba. I just want to establish consistent romanizing rules for the wiki. === File 818 - Mystery Train ("All Aboard!") ===

[[Vermouth]] is on the phone with [[Gin]]. Vermouth passes on the information that [[Bourbon]] came across, which is that [[Sherry]] was hiding in Gunma and was going to travel on the Bell Tree Express, a train own by Suzuki family which hosts a special mystery onboard. Vermouth recalls her encounter with [[Conan Edogawa|Conan]] and her promise to let Sherry go. She justifies the upcoming attack on Sherry as Bourbon's job and asks Gin not to interfere before the train reaches its destination.

At the Bell Tree Express, Conan, [[Ran Mouri|Ran]], [[Sonoko Suzuki|Sonoko]], [[Hiroshi Agasa|Agasa]], and the Detective Boys including [[Ai Haibara|Haibara]] prepare to board the train. Haibara still has a cold and has her cold mask on to hide her indentity on the platform. The Detective Boys learn that the train usually runs only once a year, but this year will be different because [[Jirokichi Suzuki]] plans to run it a month later in another attempt to lure out [[Kaitou Kid]]. Sonoko also plans to place her love letter to Kid in the train car so he can receive it. Suddenly [[Masumi Sera]] shows up, and she says she is interested in the deduction quiz that will take place in the train. Haibara notices her and cover herself with her jacket's hood.

Next, the group witnesses the arrival of more passengers. Satoru Andou of 8C is the first to arrive, and he is traveling with a client's picture with a solid gold frame. Taisaku Noto (8A) and Mari Idenami (8E) show their familiarity with the conductor. Natsue Komino (8D), an old lady in a wheelchair, is accompanied by her maid Hiroka Sumitomo. And lastly, the angry Etsuto Murobashi appears (7B), and he accosts the conductor to demand his usual room in car 8. [[Kogoro Mouri|Kogoro]] (8B) introduces himself to the group after adjusting his mustache into the style of Hercule Poirot, explaining to him that his daughter, Ran, is a friend of the owner of the train, so he got a room on the luxury car. The passengers show shock reaction upon hearing his name.

In Agasa's room, 6B, Conan and the Detective Boys are chatting. Someone knocks on their door. They find a mystery card lying there, telling them they have received the role of detective that will investigate the murder which will occur in room 7B. The group (excluding Agasa) goes to 7B and witnesses a supposed murder incident. A masked man with hood shoots Etsuto Murobashi. They run after the murderer, but he gets away.

Later, they run into a train conductor, and learn that the quiz is suppose to happen an hour later. Conan, with a shocked expression, runs back to 7B only to found out that Ran, Sonoko, and Sera are there instead, and to complicate thing further, Ran's group tell them they're in 8B. It seems that after the murder happened, Car 7 disappear into thin air.

Meanwhile, Haibara, who's slightly behind Conan group, follows them half-heartly, show a strong reaction when [[Scar Akai]] leaves one of the rooms. But Scar Akai, who is dressed in a formal outfit, does not notice her and walks in the opposite direction. Haibara catches a glimpse of him.

=== File 819 - Mystery Train (Tunnel) ===

Conan tries to convince the train conductor that something was wrong with the mystery murder that took place to no avail, nevertheless, they learn more about the nature of the train. Passengers can ring a bell which turns on a light above their door to summon the carriage attendant who sits in the hall. Additionally, each car has no indication of its number inside, only from outside can one tell the car number, a feature added by Jirokichi Suzuki to make the train more mysterious. Meanwhile, Haibara recalls her encounter with Scar Akai a moment ago. She thinks he has the "feeling" of Dai Moroboshi but doesn't understand why he has a burn mark.

Conan then recalls seeing Sera holding a card when they first ran into Ran's cabin. They go back to 7B and confront the girls with the correct conclusion: everything happened in 7B all along and the girls had lied that the room was 8B. Ran's party received the role of accomplices (assigned by the card that Sera held) They temporarily switched their room from 8B to 7B with Murobashi (who will wait in Ran's room, 8B) while the incident happened as part of the trick. As the Detective Boys followed Conan into the room, Sera notices that Haibara is with the group, and she says she wants to have a word with Haibara as well. Haibara starts to look scared, but the conversation is cut short because had Scar Akai been lurking outside the door. Sera demands to know who was there, but Scar Akai hides himself before Sera sees him.

After the trick is revealed, they return to Ran's original room, 8B, to inform Murobashi that their trick got exposed. They try to open the door, but it is chained shut and Murobashi is "sleeping" on the couch. Just then, Sera and Conan notice the gunpowder smell and break the chain link to open the door. They found Etsuto Murobashi was killed in a sealed room!

=== File 820 - Mystery Train (First Class) ===

Conan and Sera explain the reason why Murobashi's case could not be a suicide. Conan then receives a message from an unknown sender and tells the Detective Boys to go back to their room with Ran, and shouts angrily when they don't comply. Haibara thinks about the "ominous feeling" inside her, as well as Conan's tense behavior, as she clinging to Ran and wonders what is going on. Immediately, Scar Akai walks past and glares at Haibara which frightens her. [[Tooru Amuro]] also appears right behind Scar Akai, and he explains to Ran how he got a train ticket from online bidding. This happens in the hallway, and the door nearest to the conversation is cracked open so that [[Subaru Okiya]] can watch them silently. Okiya is also accompanied by a woman resembling Vermouth with a hat pulled low over her face, who is seemingly busy with her cellphone. He says to her that, "Heaven is siding with us".

Jirokichi Suzuki, who waits at Nagoya station, orders the train to head there without stopping, so he can capture the murderer himself. Without any other choice, Kogoro, Conan, and Sera go to interrogate the passengers. Ran, Sonoko, Agasa, and the Detective Boys return to their room. [[Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya|Mitsuhiko]] brings up the subject of the woman who saved them from the fire in the last case. It is revealed that Mitsuhuko had sent a video recording of the woman to Kogoro, so Kogoro could find and thank her. Kogoro also thought of uploading the video to the internet. The woman is actually [[Shiho Miyano]]. This causes Haibara to panic and think her ominous feeling is due to [[Black Organization]] members on the train.

Jirokichi calls a meeting with the Nagoya Police directing them to restore his and their honor by capturing the murderer post haste. Gin and Vodka watch the pep rally from behind a column on the Nagoya platform. Gin receives an text from Vermouth that [[Sherry]] is indeed boarded the train.

=== File 821 - Mystery Train (Junction) ===

Conan is receives another unknown message. When Sera asks about and tries to look at the message, Conan quickly hides it and says he is just looking up the article on the past case that involves the victim and the passengers. Haibara also receives a message from an unknown address who claim to be Vermouth, asking, "Are you ready?" Haibara makes an excuse to go out. Ran notices her strange behavior and tries but fails to follow her.

Alone, Haibara recalls the [[Elena_Miyano#Tapes_left_for_Shiho|tape left by her mother]], [[Elena Miyano]], which talks about Haibara's parents starting a drug project that will require them to leave Shiho and Akemi behind, a project they call "[[APTX 4869|Silver Bullet]]". Haibara then regrets that she misunderstood and that the drug was something that shouldn't have been made. She looks at the antidote to APTX 4869 that she is holding and decides to take it so that she can avoid involving those with her in the Black Organization's plot to capture or kill her. Before she can take it, Okiya confronts Haibara, commenting that he can predict the "[[Akemi Miyano|sisters]]" without fail, and invites her to "enter our area". Haibara runs away from him instead, thinking she can't be killed while in a shrunken state.

Conan is still investigating the case. He asks the suspects to be filmed while running. Sera leaves the group, intending to take the recordings to the Detective Boys to ask them which looks most like the masked suspect they chased earlier. On the way, Amuro notices her from a room and contacts someone with his cellphone. Scar Akai then walks pass the mysterious woman who had come with Okiya. The woman says something to Scar Akai as he passes which startles him. But before he can follow her, Sera confronts him and asks, "Who are you?" Scar Akai smiles and tells Sera, "you haven't changed a bit." and he reveals his face to her. Sera, surprised and confused, responds with "Shuu-nii". (nii is Japanese suffix to call an older brother).

=== File 822 - Mystery Train (Interception) ===
She questions Scar Akai, stating that she heard that Akai had died. Sera and Scar Akai's confrontation ends abruptly when Scar Akai knocks Sera unconscious with a taser. Scar Akai then replies that Sera's response was the one he wanted to hear. Elsewhere, Conan tranquilizes Kogoro to begin his deduction show. He accuses Satoru Andou of being the culprit. Amuro meanwhile appears by the suspects and helps explain his "sensei's" deductions. Ran receives a message from Haibara's address, saying she is fine and not to worry. Ran looks suspiciously at the message and still wants to keep looking for her but Agasa stops her.

Scar Akai goes to look at the passengers list left at the seat of one of the attendants. He leaves when the conductor stops him. Then it is revealed that under conductor's chair is a mysterious canister. Scar Akai then listens to Ran's conversation in 6B with a bugging device.

While the deduction show still continues, Scar Akai enters the room belonging to the mysterious lady and throws her luggage out of the train window. The mysterious woman appears at the door and tells Scar Akai that the dress in the luggage was her favorite. The mysterious woman reveals herself to be [[Yukiko Kudo]] by naming Scar Akai as her old friend, "[[Sharon Vineyard|Sharon]]". Scar Akai rips his mask off and confirms Yukiko's deduction that he is none other than Vermouth.

=== File 823 - Mystery Train (Releasing Smoke) ===

After revealing themselve to one another, Vermouth shows surprise that Yukiko is on the train too. Yukiko brings up the fact that Vermouth doesn't age. Vermouth asks about the words Yukiko said in the corridor when Vermouth past her as Scar Akai, which Yukiko implies that "Shin-chan's"' team is one step ahead of Vermouth. Namely, an unconciousness Sera has been taken back to her own room (by Okiya). Vermouth wonders how they could manage that, because Conan is occupied by deduction show and Yukiko is talking to her. (She doesn't know the present of Okiya) Yukiko replies by say they have a "special guest" on board. Meanwhile, in the deduction scene, Andou admits his crime and explain his motive. His wife was kill in the fire. Etsuto Murobashi is responsible for setting it up so he can steals a valueable picture in the mansion unnoticed.

Yukiko boasts to Vermouth that they got a hold of Vermouth's weak point, which is Vermouth doesn't want anyone, including her partner on the train, to know about Conan and Haibara's regress in age. And Vermouth's software order from CG programmer, [[Suguru Itakura]] that probably involves the de-ageness. Yukiko also show her surprise that Vermouth had a fight with Itakura on film set even though Sharon is known for her consideration for staffs. Vermouth responses to Yukiko's boast by say she is the one who saw through Yukiko team's plan. Vermouth deducts that they will try to fake Shiho Miyano's death so the Black Organization will let go of her for goods. Vermouth explain that that Haibara can't be show dead in her child body because it will causes the Detective Boys to panic and cry, which would bring the Black Organization attention to them as Sherry's acquaintances. But if Haibara dies in her original body (plays by Yukiko with makeup) and those who know her secret keep quite about that, then the Detective Boys will not cause chaos. This scene will also result in heavily check of passengers belonging upon disembarkment and the Black Organization won't be able to take "Sherry's" body away for double check. Vermouth tells Yukiko that's not only Yukiko's lugguage that she disposed off, but the bullet-proof vest with blood contraption that she hidden in basin closet as well. Yukiko say they're even because even Vermouth see though her plan but doesn't found Haibara. Vermouth reveals her trick to smoke Haibara out by detonates mutilple smoke bombs she placed earlier. (The bombs can be seen under attendent seat and also in the murder scene)

At the deduction scene, Amuro is the first to notices the smoke, concludes the train is on fire and tells everyone to evacuate to the front of the train. The suspects, who are pyrophobics after survive the mansion fire incident become panic and run. But Conan has to wakes Kogoro up and urges Komino and Sumitomo of room D to hurry up and leave. Next, Vermouth correctly deducts that Haibara won't escape the fire to the front like everyone else, but went on to the opposit direction. then we are shown of Haibara, now in her original body, run through the smoke passes the victim room (7B). A voice from behind states that Shiho is "as expect of Hell's Angel's daughter" that she is "very much alike". The voice belongs to Amuro, who introduces himself to Shiho with his code name, [[Bourbon]].

=== File 824 - Mystery Train (Final Destination) ===

Ran met Kogoro and ask him where're Haibara and Sera (She assume he'd know because they should pass his deduction site at some point.) But Kogoro doesn't know. The train conductor tries to calms the passengers down from panic about the fire, say the staffs yet to know the detail of the situation but will try to make sure as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Vermouth continues to predict Sherry's movement that she will head to the back of train, rather be killed by the Organization than involve her friend. Conan then phones Yukiko to informs her he can't find Haibara anywhere. Vermouth grabs Yukiko's phone away and impersonates her on the phone, tell Conan that Haibara probably escaped to the front like everybody else. Vermouth then got message from Bourbon, confirms that Sherry is indeed in carriage 8, tell Yukiko that's it's Vermouth's team win.

At carriage 8, Bourbon tells Sherry he has met her parents and sister. Sherry said she have heard about him and knows he is rival to Moroboshi Dai, [[Akemi]]'s lover. Bourbon says Dai is an FBI mole, as he suspected. When he heard that Dai/Akai is dead, he don't believe it at first and enlists Vermouth's help to disguises himself as Akai and wandering around people who know Akai to observes their reactions. Except this time, he has Vermouth disguises in place of him. His conclusion is Akai is really dead.

At Nagoya station. Gin comments that Jirokichi and Aichi police head presence only make the explosion seem like an attempt on their lives, cover black orgainzation's intention. He then becomes surprise when Vodka informs him Vermouth was asking for more explosive for the plan, without tells him the purpose.

Bourbon, meanwhile, reveals his plan to take Sherry back to the Black Organization alive. He'd have her steps inside the storage hold, knocks her out, bombs the carriage link to seperate the storage hold form the rest of the train, and then has helicopter on his side take her away. Sherry refuses the plan, states that storage hold is full of explosive, cause Bourbon to realize that Vermouth has altered the plan, and want to kill Sherry from the start. Sherrys steps away behind the door, while another figure appears behide Bourbon, obscured by smoke. Bourbon asks if the figure's Vermouth but he throw a hand grenade at him. Bourbon then astonishingly ask who he was. The figure is reveal to the readers (seem not to Bourbon) that he has Shuichi Akai's face, without scar, and dresses in an outfit like those of Okiya Subaru's, seemingly wearing Sera's hat. The grenade explodes, interruping their (one-side) conversation. The storage hold is seperate from the train, seconds later, the storage hold itself explode, triggered by Vermouth's cellphone.

Vermouth explains to Yukiko she purposefully detonates the second bomb after heard of the first, makes sure the explosion won't cause the train to derails. Vermouth leaves the room while Yukiko screaming for Haibara, but she stop immediately after Vermouth's out of sight. Bourbon is left wondering who's the figure was, but he seem to has an idea.

The train stops, passengers disembark. Vermouth phones Gin about the situation, that Bourbon saw Sherry dies in the explosion, which Gin stills shows doubt about Sherry's survival. Gin points out that Vermouth want an explosion on the train so the train can't reach its destination at Nagoya (where Gin wait). Vermouth say they have to be questioned, along with other passenger and say Gin should be satisfied enough for hearing that Sherry is dead. Vermouth hangs up and hear the Detective Boys talk to Agasa (who has Haibara sleeping on his back) about how they find Haibara in room 7B. The story is Haibara got dizzy after taking the drug for her cold, decided to rest there. The room is empty due to being the crime scene. Vermouth realizes Yukiko team figured that the room is where haibara will go to, waited for her there to take her to safty. Conan's phone call to Yukiko is just an acting to keep Vermouth in Yukiko's room. But Vermouth can't figured out who the woman who supposedly killed in front of Bourbon.

Vermouth then figured out Kaitou Kid' involvement after overheard Sonoko voices her frustration to Ran that Kaitou Kid won't be able to board the train after the explosion. Vermouth also overheard Conan, on the phone with Kaitou Kid, apologizes him for drags him into situation with guns, bombs and "bad guys of your". Kaitou Kid is shown leaving the exploding train on his hang-glider, the gadget Conan deduced Kid would hides in the storage room in the first place. It is reveal in flashback that Conan has deduced Kid's identity. He disguised as Hiroka Sumitomo (the maid) and has his accomplice disguised as Natsue Komino (The wheelchair lady). His accomplice, heavily hint to be [[Konosuke Jii]], can't mimics the voice of the lady, relies on Kid to voices both of them. He'll just mouthing the words (similar to when Conan solves case as Agasa). So when Conan has Sumitomo run in the corridor, Komino can't speak. Conan has the advantage of being short (looking from below) and saw through Jii's act easily. As well as their reaction about the fire that didn't macth pyrophobics act.

Conan use the point that he purposefully overlook Kid's action to aviod being involve with the case, to ask Kid for help. Conan show video of Shiho Miyano and has Kid disguise as her. He say he's to has the real one informs Kid on conversation with "the bad guy" (Bourbon) via an earphone. Conan also tells him to be careful because guns and explosives are involved. Conan finished his conversation by asks Kid to return his cellphone to the detective agency. Kid annoyedly comments that rather considered himself out of Conan debt by helping him. Conan should be in his debt instead.

Sera tries to figured out what's going on as Ran return her hat that Ran found in the corridor. Bourbon watchs them silently and then ask Vermouth to give him the files before and after Akai death one more time. Vermouth agrees and Bourbon think he must reopen his investigation from "square one". Konosuke Jii, now without disguise, leave the train along with the other. Lastly, Subaru Okiya watching Vermouth and Bourbon from behind. He opens one of his eyes for the first time to reveal his Shuichi Akai's like eyes.

The culprit is '''Tokuko Shigei'''. She persisted in those crimes for the sake of her son who died due to an accident. The cause of accident was inadequate caution. Due to all swim tubes, rubber rafts and things, the field of vision for the rearview mirror was obstructed. Unluckily, the driver did'nt see you pushing your stroller behind their car. That why she targeted every single car that was imprudent enough to have their rear window obstructed. And that's why she etched the word "Die" as punishment.
