Rikumichi Kusuda is a Black Organization member.

Background
Rikumichi Kusuda was a member of the Black Organization. He was sent by the organization to search for Rena Mizunashi in Haido Central Hospital. He was pretending to be a patient with cervical spine sprain in order to move about the hospital without suspicion. Eisuke told Ran he heard a man dialing Nanatsu no Ko at the hospital and with that information Conan and Akai were able to figure out which patient Eisuke overheard. Later that night, Kusuda sneaked to the nurses' station to photograph the patient list and was cornered by the FBI. In order to escape, he threatened the FBI with fake C4 he had hidden under his neck collar. He drives away, but is unable to warn the organization because Conan had damaged his phone with water. Shuichi chases him in pursuit and after recognizing exactly which FBI agent was tailing him, he commits suicide.

Personality
During his short-lived appearance, it is shown Kusuda was extremely loyal to the organization. In addition, Rikumichi seems to have been an experienced spy and was able to write to the boss directly, yet he was not high enough ranking to get a known codename. Though he was cornered by FBI, he was calm and level-headed. He even recognized the trap of FBI early on.
Plot overview
Fake Patient Case (Manga: 596-598, Anime: 495-496)
Conan found out that Eisuke had heard someone in the Haido Hospital dialling the boss of the Black Organization's e-mail adress, so he assumed that there was someone from the organization infiltrating the hospital in order to look for Kir, who was under the FBI's custody. Conan shared this intelligence with the FBI members, and according to a nurse's testimony, he was able to deduce that the one who infiltrated the hospital had entered between the 18th of December and the 21st. One of these patients was Rikumichi Kusuda, along with Chuugo Nishiya and Choutarou Shinki.

Conan decided to face the three suspects directly so that he wasn't suspected. Rikumichi claimed to have cervical spine sprain, so he pretended to have a pain in the neck when talking to Conan. He had some empty cans of coffee in his room, which were dropped and later picked up by Conan. Rikumichi told him to leave his room.

Along with Akai, Conan was able to deduce that Rikumichi Kusuda was the spy from the organization, due to the fact the other two men were in fact innocent, also adding to the fact that he was faking his supposed disease the whole time.

Rikumichi headed to the nurse station to find out whether Rena Mizunashi was in the hospital or not, and he noticed that Ishida, the nurse who had found him there, was not a real nurse at all. He confronted her, but the FBI appeared there to capture him. Unfortunately, he showed them a bomb he had strapped to his neck, so the only chance they had was to let him escape to prevent him from blowing up the hospital floor. He read into the FBI's plan and fled in his car, so Akai was sent to follow him in his car. He couldn't stop Rikumichi from contacting the organization because he had his cellphone with him, but Conan outran Kusuda's plan and put his mobile phone in water to damage it.

Akai reached Kusuda's car, who tried to shoot him, but failed. He ended up comitting suicide with his gun inside his car. However, the FBI was now fearing that the rest of the organization members were going to the hospital soon, guided by some reports that Kusuda could have been sending them.

Kir Transport Case (Manga: 600-601, Anime: 497)
After the organization lost contact with Kusuda, they sent another spy to investigate the hospital and found out that the FBI was indeed there.

James Black revealed that Kusuda was hiding an infrared thermographer, so they expected the rest of the organization members to use one as well. Later, James received some flowers which were sent via mail by Rikumichi Kusuda. They noticed this was obviously the organization, but apart from the flower, there was a bomb inside the flowerpot. Camel managed to get rid of the bomb in time. However, many hospital patients started receiving gifts from Kusuda as well. Jodie supposed that the organization got the names from the pictures Kusuda was taking when the FBI attempted to capture him at the nurse station. The bombs were just part of a plan which allowed the black organization to get Kir's location though.

Foreign Suspect Case (Manga: 609, Anime: 504)
<spoiler>
Akai's fake death technique
To fake his death and save Kir, Akai switched his place with Kusuda's corpse from when he comitted suicide back then. Kusuda's fingerprints on Conan's phone (from the time he made him pick it up) matched, of course, his own fingerprints from the hand that was found in Akai's car. However, this was thought to be Akai's hand, so Jodie compared it with the fingerprints on the cellphone. Shuichi didn't leave his prints on the phone actually as his fingertips were laced with glue.

When Jodie heard from Takagi that the fingerprints from the phone matched the explosion victim's ones, she was lured into Akai and Conan's plan.</spoiler>

A Shrine to Remember (Manga: 851, Anime: 734)
While the police investigates the case, Jodie remembers the time when Conan tested the three suspects by making them pick up his cellphone during the preview events. She says that Kusuda was actually the spy from the organization, and the second man to be confronted by Conan out of the three suspects. Then she remembers when Shuichi touched the phone, but Conan lures her out of her thoughts.

Most of Jodie's conversation with Conan was eavesdropped by Bourbon, and all concerning Rikumichi Kusada, the Black Organization Spy, .

Tea Poisoning Murder Case (Manga: 888-890, Anime: 770-771)
When Kogoro goes to the Haido Hospital to check on his wife's condition, Bourbon appears and tells Kogoro he is looking for a friend of his who happened to be in the hospital. He says that the friend's name is Rikumichi Kusuda. Conan hears this and gets surprised and a bit scared, as he remembers how Kusuda died. Bourbon asks Conan if he knows Kusuda, though Conan says he has no idea who it is. Bourbon demonstrates that Conan might be lying about not knowing him. Nevertheless, Kogoro says Conan is just a child and he might not be lying.

After a murder case is solved there, Bourbon asks Takagi about Rikumichi Kusuda. Takagi says that some months ago a car which belonged to a certain Rikumichi Kusuda was found on a side of the road. The windshield had blood splatters which were less than one milimeter wide. Bourbon noticed these were high velocity blood splatters and a gun shot.

Elementary Teacher Assault (Manga: 891-893, Anime: 779-780)
Conan asks Jodie to tell her FBI colleagues that they can't leak any information about Rikumichi Kusuda, due to the fact that Bourbon is investigating the matter. Camel is indeed confronted by Bourbon later, who asks him about Kusuda. Camel doesn't tell him anything, but he ends up spilling everything when he says it to Vermouth who was disguised as Jodie.

Scarlet Showdown (Manga: 894-897, Anime: 781-783)
<spoiler>
Akai's fake death technique
Bourbon has now all the pieces to realise what the truth is. He explains to Vermouth the trick behind Kusuda and Akai's body switch and how he could have faked his death with help from Kir. He later explains the same to Subaru Okiya, as he is really convinced that Subaru is just a disguise under which Akai is hiding, albeit he starts seeming to be completely wrong about his theories.

Akai manages to fool Bourbon, despite he was right about Akai's fake death, with a plan which Conan came up with. He also hands the gun Kusuda used to kill himself with over to the secret police for further investigation.</spoiler>
Crimson School Trip Case
File 1004 - The Light Crimson Answer
The police ask the three remaining suspects to stay in their rooms, guarded by police agents. Keiko, Agata and Mayama think about Dekuri's dream of seeing his name in the movie's credits, and his tears when realising it wasn't the case. They suddenly all receive a text message and Mayama leaves his room, supposedly to go to the washroom near the reception desk as his room's is out of service. Mayama actually escapes the hotel and goes to Kiyomizu. He expects to meet Agata there, and phones him, but Agata says he's not the one who sent that mail reading "I'm the murderer, I want to surrender, let's meet one last time at Kiyomizu". Agata says the sender's mail address is Dekuri's, and Mayama gets panic-stricken as he sees blood-red footprints walking in his direction, and Dekuri's voice telling him he's indeed the one who sent the mail, he came back from the dead to accomplish his revenge.

<spoiler>
Mayama clings to the railing in fear, and suddenly the serial killer shows up and pushes him over the balustrade. Hopefully, Mayama lands on an air mattress, settled by the police. Shinichi, Heiji and Masumi tell the killer his plan failed, and reveal him to be Riki Agata. The three teenagers say they solved the code : Dekuri's symbol was actually to be considered as a compass, and according to it, and to the code's kanji characters' position, and to the fact that these characters were extracted from some of Kyoto's streets' and districts' names corresponding to the position, the code can be understood as a succession of kanji characters who correspond to the first or second syllables of the streets' or districts' names they originate, for instance "kon" for "kontaka", etc., from left to right. The first lines of each code then read "koro sunoha", which means "I'm about to kill". Heiji says the reversed "saki" kanji means its corresponding character, "pon", is to be reversed to "npo", then "n". The first code accordingly means "I'm going to kill three people, the first one being the screenwriter". The second reads "I'm going to kill two more people, the next one being the leading role". And the third is "I'm going to kill one more person, then I'll jump off the balcony". In fact, Agata wanted to kill Mayama and pretend he was the murderer and committed suicide after he failed to kill Agata.

Agata had beforehand booked all of the hotel's smoking rooms and checked one out for Nishiki just as the latter was phoning the hotel. In this room, Agata had previously painted the ceiling red with fake blood splatters and footprints. He then stuck magnetic post-its (similar to Nishiki's ones) over the whole ceiling in order to conceal it, the post-its being of the same color as the ceiling. After killing Nishiki, Agata unstuck all post-its and threw them away on the floor, mixing them up with Nishiki's own ones. He then opened the window and sprayed some of Nishiki's blood with a syringe on the fake blood traces, to pretend he had indeed been murdered on the ceiling by a tengu. Agata, a plastic art expert, also made a fake tengu out of guncotton and used alcohol-ink marker pens to draw on it. He then pasted the very light piece of artwork on his room's ceiling, screamed, pretending to be assaulted by a monster, and threw the ashtray with his lit cigarette in it to the tengu's face to have it explode, burn and vanish into thin air, as this is how guncotton reacts to fire. He had lit his cigarette not long ago to do so, explaining the only 3-centimeter burn patterns left by his cigarette on the floor, that should have been longer if he'd been smoking for a longer period of time.

Agata had also prepared the restaurant's inuyarai by previously painting it red with the usual traces, but covering it with another inuyarai. After he killed Ihaya, he removed the cover inuyarai, threw his bloody glove, dagger and coat into it and put it over another restaurant's inuyarai. He hadn't left any fingerprints on the bloody things for the police still to believe Mayama was the murderer. Shinichi had noticed the dust gap around the first inuyarai, implying it had been covered by something that protected it from dust. Lastly, to frighten Mayama into pinning himself against the railing, Agata used a directional loudspeaker only Mayama could hear, with Dekuri's voice, and had previously painted transparent sheets with red footprints and stuck them on the balcony's floor, covering each of them with another sheet of the same color as the floor, to conceal them. He would then tie fishing lines to each of these same-color sheets and pull them away one after the other in order to fool Mayama into believing Dekuri was walking in his direction, and speaking to him. Agata left his fingerprints on the sheets as he was certain Mayama would die and everybody would rush to the railing, leaving him time and space enough to retrieve all sheets and discarding them later.

Agata tries to run away but gets surrounded by the police who were disguised as visitors. Agata finally confesses to being the serial killer, giving two bumps to his victims just like the tengu does to Kobutori Tale's evil old man who tries to imitate the good Kobutori, just like Nishiki, Ihaya and Mayama stole Dekuri's work and pretended his name would feature in the movie's credits while it was eventually not the case. Agata asked them for an explanation, saying Dekuri cried unceasingly, and the three men replied they were so happy their plan had worked perfectly, thus implying they wanted to humiliate their depressed friend and never had the intention to put his name in the movie. But Keiko and Mayama turn up and say that the producers had modified some very important typology spaces in the credits, preventing the name "Michio Dekuri" from appearing. As actually the name was supposed to appear across the five people's vertical names, which is why everyone changed names and spaces. Dekuri's name was supposed to appear at the same time, and it didn't beacuse of the producers, who didn't want to clear up the mistake afterwards for financial reasons. Agata wasn't told about it as their friends wanted Dekuri and him to discover the surprise while watching the movie together, as they were really close friends. Agata howls in regrets for what he did to his friends.

After the case is solved, Ran talks about a nice place that Okita had told her about and as Sonoko and Masumi start going ahead, Shinichi holds Ran back and asks her how she feels about him. Shinichi mentions Ran's meeting with Okita the previous and wonders if she has forgotten about his confession in London. In response, Ran pulls him closer by grabbing his tie and kisses him on the cheek.

File 1005 - The Dark Crimson Omen
<spoiler>
Shinichi moves to kiss Ran on the lips, but the antidote begins to wear off, and he flees.

Masumi gives chase, only to run into Heiji. She realizes that the rucksack Heiji is wearing has the shrunken Shinichi inside it, but doesn't directly confront the two about it. Shinichi and Heiji therefore understand that Masumi knows about Shinichi being Conan.

A teacher of Teitan High School tells students Shinichi has to leave due to an emergency, and tells them not to say a word about Shinichi's coming and presence to Kyoto, as specially asked for by Shinichi himself.

Ran tells Sonoko she actually took Okita aside to give him back his talisman he had dropped during the "Kendo Case" (Vol. 94). She apologised to Okita because she and her father unwittingly opened the talisman, and found a piece of wood and a picture showing Moroha Kurogane, Okita's secret love and a skilled high school kendo practitioner as well. Okita says Moroha is actually his rival Yaiba Kurogane's little sister, and he will date Moroha as soon as he defeats Yaiba at kendo. Okita accepts Ran's excuse but just asks her not to tell a word of this to Momiji, probably because he loves her as well.

As Shinichi and Ran exchange texts about what the kiss means for their relationship, both of them being mutually satisfied with each other's declaration, Masumi speaks with Mary. Mary orders her to obtain the "medicine" that will return her to her true age, so that they can stop running, and counter-attack.

Heiji gives Conan a motorbike ride back to Tokyo, and Ran texts Shinichi to ask him if they're officially dating each other now. Conan thinks about the last antidote Haibara gave him but which he couldn't take as the timing made it impossible : the class was leaving Kyoto and Shinichi still needed to wait for another 8 hours before taking it... Heiji secretly envies Shinichi who not only "stole" his second favourite place in Japan to confess his love to Kazuha, but also as Shinichi is his rival, he now sets the bar high and Heiji has from here on to go further in his relationship with Kazuha as well.

Yukiko and Yusaku are watching the Kyoto Case on TV, in Los Angeles, and are puzzled over the case being so much broadcasted, even worldwide, and hitting the headlines. Yusaku replies it has to do with the victims' and culprit's fame. As Yukiko feels moved to hear the crime motive was Kyoko's boyfriend's death, Yusaku explains he knew about Michio Dekuri's full name as he had seen the movie's poster online and noticed the rearrangement of names and spaces, exactly the same as for the movie's credits, showing the boyfriend's name across his other friends' names, which is why Kyoko/Keiko changed her name. He then comments on the fact Dekuri would have probably not killed himself if he had seen the poster earlier. He also talks about a more burning issue : has Shinichi been spotted by media or else while he was solving the case ? Shinichi is considered dead for most people, including the Black Organisation.

His fears prove to be right as the case indeed attracts global attention, and someone claims that the apparently dead Shinichi Kudo helped to solve the case — Hyoue Kuroda, Kanenori Wakita, and Rumi Wakasa (who is revealed to have access to the APTX victim list) all take notice of this.
Missing Maria Higashio Case
File 1006 - Stay Put!
Maria Higashio hasn't come to school today and Kobayashi sends Haibara, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko and Genta to her home to see how she's going and if everything's all right. Meanwhile, Conan, bed-ridden with a cold, enjoys Ran's agreement to hook up. He goes to see Agasa and reads in the news that someone saw Shinichi Kudo at Kyoto and on TV. He starts being very nervous and asks Haibara and Heiji about it while Ran, Sonoko and Masumi read it as well. The media overrun Heiji's and Shinichi' high schools, and Shinichi's house, though Okiya can't let them in. The Detective Boys believe Maria went to her late grandparents' house and took part to the scavenger hunt they organised for her. Haibara helps the Detective Boys to follow the arrows and understand the messages. Suddenly, they arrive in a room where a bookshelf was knocked over, and fear Maria might be stuck under it. But it's not the case and there is instead another code to decipher.

File 1007 - That's Just How Nervous I Am
The Detective Boys understand Maria went downstairs and they try to find out the other arrows. Shinichi has still trouble finding who is the "Kudo Family Freak" blog owner and how to stop all that mess. Ran tries to figure out what happens and why is Shinichi considered like a ghost. Heiji tells Conan he'll try to settle things on his side. The Detective Boys finally arrive to a bathroom but the only arrow points to the shower, and there's nothing inside. They convince Haibara to ask Conan's help, and the latter tells them to give some water to the drinking bird next to the arrow.

File 1008 - See? ♡
The Detective Boys give the drinking bird a glass of water and the bird starts bending and unbending. They then notice the glass's water has reversed the arrow's direction, which now points towards the opposite direction of the bathroom, another room the kids fail to open. Kanenori Wakita rings at Agasa's door and asks what's is the hustle and bustle in front of their neighbours' house all about, he can't do his deliveries.

Conan tells the Detective Boys that the door isn't locked but the difference in temperatures between the cold corridor and the warm room where Maria is, creates a pressure gradient that can be dispelled by pushing the door strongly and opening a vent. Maria is indeed inside, asleep. She had come to watch some videos of her grandparents but was then unable to open the door to leave the room, and thought she had to watch every video for the door to open.

<spoiler>

Heiji tells the press outside his school that it was Okita that was caught on film and not Shinichi. At the same time, the owner of the blog suddenly retracts her claim that she saw Shinichi.

As Wakita, Wakasa, and Kuroda look at the retraction, Rum sends an email to Rei, demanding that he gather information about Shinichi Kudo.

Yukiko and Yusaku have returned to Japan and reveal to Conan that they convinced the blog owner to retract her claim in exchange for their autographs. They decide to remain in the country for the foreseeable future, in light of Yusaku's interpretation of Koji Haneda's dying message, which leads them and Conan to believe that Renya Karasuma is connected to the Black Organization. Yusaku goes as far to declare that, in light of this revelation, Conan has made an enemy of the most powerful man in all of Japan, even though Karasuma should be long dead.
File 1009 - At Black Bunny's Club
Kogoro is invited to a club by his client. Amuro mentions Shinichi's involvement in the previous case to Ran, who says that they were instructed not to talk about the case by their teacher. To avoid any further discussion on Shinichi, Conan invites Amuro to the club. Kogoro agrees.

At the club, the client Gunzou Morooka explains and produces a threatening letter that reads he will be killed if he enters the Black Bunny Club. He also enters the club with his bodyguard waiting outside since their stern faces would spoil the environment. Everyone is amused that the bravado of Morooka. He seems overly friendly with a particular worker, Yuri Asakura and offers free food to her and drinks to every worker of the Black Bunny Club. Kogoro, Amuro and Conan do not notice any suspicious figures. However, there is a club worker, Sana Murakami, who seems to be angry with her colleague Yuri. She intentionally spills drink on Yuri's cuffs and tells her to get spares from the changing room. Morooka accidentally steps on his butler's spectacles and goes outside with Kogoro to fetch a replacement from the car. When they try to leave, Yuri collapses after drinking a certain beverage.

Nine hours later, after leaving for the Black Bunny's Club and encountering a murder there, Amuro and Akai come face to face, their guns pointed at each-other.
Ran notices her wallet is gone and Murakami gives it back to her. She says Amuro gave it to her, claiming to have found it in front of the bathroom. Conan seemingly doesn't notice this exchange.

Amuro has a sudden flashback to Elena Miyano treating his wounds and telling him goodbye—he wonders why he suddenly remembered her.

File 1011 - Memories of That Woman
<spoiler>
In a flashback with a young Amuro being treated by Elena, it is revealed that Amuro is half-japanese. Bullies used to make fun of his hair and that was the reason he got into fights with them. He was badly injured and Akemi brought him to her parents' clinic. Elena Miyano, who was never too frank with any patient, seemed to be very friendly with Amuro. On asking why, she replied to her husband Atsushi that she's half-japanese too. Furthermore, the true name of the Black Organization is revealed to be "Karasuma Group". They offered to sponsor Atsushi Miyano's research but he was reluctant to accept their offer considering strange rumors surrounding the organization among his colleagues about being a shady group. However, he agreed to think about it after Elena announced that she was pregnant with another child.
File 1012 - You've Messed Up
<spoiler>
The culprit is Atsufumi Fukamachi. The real reason Amuro had remembered Elena was because the truth of the case resembled his behavior when he'd injure himself intentionally so he could go to the hospital Elena worked in.

In the next scene, Amuro is seen knocking at the door of the Kudos' residence. The next moment, Amuro and Akai are holding guns at each-other when Yusaku and Yukiko appear making Amuro flustered. Yusaku introduces himself as the owner of the house and invites Amuro for tea since, unlike the previous time, his comrades are not surrounding the house.

<spoiler>

</spoiler>

File 1005 - The Dark Crimson Omen
<spoiler>

File 1011 - Memories of That Woman
<spoiler>
File 1012 - You've Messed Up
<spoiler>
