Hello,

Like I mentioned on the forum, it's alright to create User templates, but could you refrain from making user-specific templates such as "Conanshinichi banner" (i.e. templates related to a username) for three reasons:
* Templates should be as generic as possible
* That template will only be used once: on you user page. Thus it is not necessary to make a template out of it and it will not be useful for anyone else or any other article
* It's not part of the best practices of this wiki: we must not create and mix specific (and/or personal) templates with generic and reusable ones (which should be what templates are used for)

::Well, at the bottom of every article, there should be a bar line that says "Category". To the right of this word, all categories about the article are listed. If your article is about an episode, it will says "Episodes". If your article is about a manga volume, it will say "Volumes". For example, go to [[Edogawa Conan]]. If you go to the bottom of the article, you will see that the article falls into 9 different categories: "Characters", "Male characters", "Detectives", "High school detectives", "High school students", "Elementary school students", "Detective Boys", "Mouri family", and "Kudo family". All nine of these categories are clickable, bringing you to a page that shows you every article that has the same category on it. This is used to better organize articles so people can find things easier. When you create a new article, you have to put it into the category or categories that it belongs in. If you were to create a new template listing characters or something, you would have to add '''<nowiki>[[Category:Navbox templates]]</nowiki>''' and '''<nowiki>[[Category:Templates]]</nowiki>''' to the bottom of the article. Hello. I need to stop you there before you start adding the template to all the pages. The Shortcuts template usually has a "behind-the-scenes" purpose where it helps as a navigational tool for non-"main domain" wikispaces. What this means is that they shouldn't be used for normal articles like [[Roller Coaster Murder Case]] but for other domain spaces such as [[Detective Conan Wiki:Manual of Style]] or [[Template:Some template]] or [[:Category:Some category]], etc.. Basically anything outside of the normal domain space. For more information see: [[wikipedia:Wikipedia:Shortcut|Wikipedia:Shortcut]]. Therefore, the template you created would be great for "Detective Conan Wiki" articles (i.e. any article starting with "Detective Conan Wiki:") such as [[Detective Conan Wiki:Projects]], [[Detective Conan Wiki:Guide]], etc... As for normal article, you will not see those "shortcuts boxes" normally on Wikipedia. Normal articles are the real purpose of the site which is to show an "encyclopedic-like" presentation of a topic. Shortcuts should only appear in the form of redirection, and not on the article's page itself (i.e. it would just clutter the page with non-essential information). Hope that makes sense. Actually you don't even need to use a template. ^^ All you have to do is use the <nowiki>{{subst:}}</nowiki> wiki function to include a page (for example: [[User:Conanshinichi/sig]]) directly onto the page you're editing. The great thing about it is that it'll convert the page you're including directly into text. This way, the page (e.g. [[User:Conanshinichi/sig]]) won't be reloaded every time someone sees your signature. Your signature itself will already contain the full code in the page you added it. To give you a concrete example, I'll write right now on your talk page here the following: <nowiki>{{subst:User:Maurice/test}}</nowiki>. == Manga to anime change ==

In the manga version of the story [[Gin]] and [[Vodka]] are the masterminds of the case (rather than Okita), and they end up killing [[Akemi Miyano|Masami Hirota/Akemi Miyano]] who informs Conan of the organization's existence. This would lead to [[Ai Haibara|Ai Haibara's]] appearance in the series.

Furthermore, Ai makes a silhouetted appearance when Akemi is demanding for herself and her sister to be free of the organization.

To repair the storyline, Episode 128 [[The Black Organization: One Billion Yen Robbery Case]] was written with a similar ending to the manga version.

The sniper that Conan saw was '''Koichi Yamabe''', a police officer and former rifle marksman of Japan's Olympic team. He and his girlfriend, Eri, were abducted by the criminals while on vacation. The criminals held Eri hostage so that Koichi Yamabe would work for them.

When Conan and the group did not see the criminals and the victims in Saitama Route 162, they began decoding the numbers in the calculator again. As Mitsuhiko was punching the numbers in his calculator, Conan accidentally saw that when upside down, the numbers can actually be read as "291 Heisei E". The decoded message means the one o'clock train on February 9th of the Heisei Express train. True enough, the shape of the river was similar to the train tracks that Heisei Express would take. The criminals wanted Koichi to shoot someone inside the train and the balloon was just an accuracy test.

Conan sneaked in the helicopter where Inspector Megure was. And before Koichi could assassinate the target, Inspector Megure instructed the pilot to swoop down the criminals. Conan used his [[Power-Enhancing Kick Shoes]] to kick his helmet towards one criminal before he could shoot Koichi. Koichi was able to take down the remaining criminals and save Eri from harm.

While Yuji was fiddling with the answering machine to prove he wasn't the killer, with the last of his strength, Denjiro wrote Yuji's name on the drawers for a dying message to prove he was the killer. When Yuji noticed this, he shuffled the drawers then added a few more markings so it couldn't be recognized, and marked the rest of the room so it wouldn't stand out, to erased a dying message from the police's eyes.

Yuji then charged at Kogoro with a sword to kill him, but stopped just when the sword was about to hit deep into Kogoro's head. Yuji claims Kogoro must be very brave to just stay still in the face of death. After Yuji leaves however, Kogoro finally wakes up and notices a tiny cut on his head and freaks out.

Conan knew that something was up for he didn't really know Ryoko. With the clues at hand, Conan pieced things together.

He immediately called Ryoko as Shinichi using the [[Voice-Changing Bowtie]] and the [[Portable Bentou Box Fax]]. He confirmed that '''Mamoru was kidnapped'''. Mamoru was Hideo's older brother whom Hideo has been taking care of since their parents died two years ago. Hideo was ordered by the kidnapper to throw the game. Threatened that Mamoru would be hurt if the police was involved, Ryoko decided to pose as Shinichi's girlfriend.

When Ryoko came over to make breakfast, she found a letter left by the kidnapper and another which the kidnapper apparently made Mamoru wrote. Ryoko faxed Conan a ripped letter with the words: "Brother, resurrect me."

While trying to find more clues in Mamoru's room, Conan thought that it was just too messed up even if the child retaliated. And with further investigation, Conan found an empty game box called Onimaru Quest - a game where the hero has to be 'resurrected'. The main character in that game was named Mamoru. Another character in the game was named Naoki. Uemura Naoki was a soccer player who joined the Tokyo Spirits a year ago. He was also Hideo's good friend who lives nearby.

Conan deduced that Mamoru was with '''Naoki''' and that it was just made to look like it was a case of kidnapping. The note that Mamoru left must have been a part of the whole saying that he was going to Naoki's to have his character revived.

The group rushed to Naoki's place and sure enough, they found Mamoru there unharmed.

Naoki envied Hideo because even though their skills were pretty much the same, Hideo was still more popular than he was. He came close to surpassing Hideo but during one of their practices, Hideo accidentally injured his leg. Naoki thought that it was done on purpose so he wouldn't be able to play.

Naoki didn't plan to hurt Mamoru. He would send Mamoru home after the soccer finals and Naoki would disappear after getting back at Hideo.

Kogoro Mouri received a strange cut-and-paste letter from a client called Asou Keiji asking him investigate something on Tsukikage Island. He then found out that the man requesting for the investigation, Keiji Asou, has been dead for 12 years. He was a world-renowned pianist who suddenly killed his family, set his house on fire, and played Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata as his house burnt around him. Despite thinking the letter is a poor prank, Kogoro decides to investigate anyway and finds the island is holding elections for mayor. Two years ago, a passerby heard the Moonlight Sonata playing from the community center and discovered the body of the mayor slumped over the piano. Although he died from a heart attack, the similarity to the death of Keiji Asou caused the islanders to think the piano has cursed.

The person who knocked out Murasawa in the piano room was Hirata. The bandage on his left hand was the result of smashing the window when he was trying to escape. He was also the one that Kogoro and Conan chased outside the piano room. The piano room was his meeting place with Kawashima when doing business: dealing drugs. He was using the piano's secret compartment as a hiding place of drugs he got from overseas to which he exchanged for large sums of money. The reason why he was always talking about the cursed piano was because he wanted to keep everyone in town away from it. Murasawa saw the drugs that he had left in there earlier so he hit him. Still, he was unrelated to the murders because he wouldn't have related the piano to the crimes.

In the second murder, they found that he had been dead for only a few minutes but when Conan fell on the code of blood, it didn't smear when it takes 25-30 minutes for human blood to dry. It was just a trick that the killer used to manipulate the time of death of the victims. Upon looking at the pictures, there was a button that was lighted near Kuroiwa's neck. But after the body was moved, the light was turned off. This was actually the reverse button. While the police weren't looking, the killer turned off the light. The killer used the reversed side, the blank side that didn't have the song, which played for over 30 min and then it reversed. That was when the 5 minutes and 30 second of gap before the music played.

In the third murder, the killer didn't have the time to put a chair or desk at Nishimoto's feet because he had to escape in time. The killer was probably male because the murders required a lot of physical strength.

The purpose of drowning Kawashima was to send the forensic examiner back to Tokyo because it was impossible to do an autopsy in the island. The tape in the second murder was a setup so the killer could create an alibi.

Conan deduced that the killer was '''Dr. Asai Narumi''' and that she was, in fact, Asou's son, Seiji. Asai was probably the surname of the family that adopted him. After graduation, he came to the island as a female doctor. The pronunciation of his name was not written on his diploma nor the medical license but if they checked his history, they would have found out that he was a man. He stayed all night so that they'd make him last for questioning.

As for Murasawa, he was an admirer of the late Asou and he was the one who kept the donated piano in tune just like that night.

Seiji then committed suicide by dying like his father did that Conan failed to stop, but he played one last music code message in the burning flames: "Thank you, little detective."

Seiji's motive dated back when his father, the pianist, and his family was murdered. Kawashima, Nishimoto, Kuroiwa, and Kameyama used Asou's international concerts as a front for their international drug trade. But when Asou stated that he wouldn't cooperate any longer, they got scared that their secret might be exposed. This was all written in the sheet music that he left behind in the safe as his confession to his son. Seiji was hospitalized in Tokyo at the time of the murder.

Seiji went back to the island to avenge his family's death. When he told Kameyama that he was Asou's son, the late mayor was terrified and told him everything. He then had a heart attack. Seiji played the Moonlight Sonata that his father loved so much upon seeing the mayor dead.

Conan found out who the criminal was and put Sonoko to sleep. Through Sonoko, Conan explained that the criminal had actually but in the capsule they found floating in the drink and the poison in separately to make it look like the poison was but in 15 minutes before when it actually had been put in more recently. By looking at the video Ran took he showed that Sonoko had put her lemon tea right next the victim's and the criminal had put the poison in Sonoko's instead of the one the victim had been drinking. Proof of this was the fact that Sonoko's fingerprints were all over the can and 2 of the people that had touched the can did have their fingerprints on it. The only 4 people that had been near the can after it was switch was Sonoko, Ran, Conan, and the groom, Toshihiko Takasugi. Sonoko and Ran had never touched the can after the switch and once they exclude Conan, Toshihiko Takasugi and the victim herself are the only people that could of poisoned the lemon tea. Then he explains how it couldn't of been the victim because there was no container to hold it in and drying agent found in the room. Those two things were needed to carry around sodium hydroxide, the poison used, because sodium hydroxide liquefies in a few minutes and because the victim was in the room the whole time there would be no way to dispose of the container and drying agent outside in the hall where it was found. Therefore, the criminal was Toshihiko Takasugi.

The motive was that the superintendent had crashed into a suspect's car 20 years ago and his mom got caught in the crash. Not seeing Takasugi's mom, the superintendent told him to go away when he tried to tell him. 15 min later Takasugi's mom died on the street. When Takasugi found out that the victim was the superintendent's daughter he wanted to kill her to show the superintendent how much it hurt to lose someone you love.

Later they find out that the victim's surgery was a success and that she was going to recover soon.

She also gets married 3 years later to Toshihiko Takasugi.

Sometimes everyone thinks both Conan and Ai have a special relation and friendship that nobody would understand. This is particularly true for members of the Detective Boys who often try to question their relationship.

== Relationship analysis ==

In some episodes and manga chapters, Ai would give hints to Conan about her feelings towards him. But in the end, she would always tell him that she was just joking.

[[Image:Conan_saves_Haibara.JPG‎|thumb|right|220|Conan rescues Haibara from the explosion.]] Conan tries to protect and save Haibara if anything happens to her. For example, during [[The Mysterious Passenger]] episodes, where Haibara stayed in the bus that had a bomb in it (to commit suicide because she was afraid of her future, and having to ever face the Black Organization,) Conan immediately saved her and told her to accept fate and never turn back.

Some fans can make parallels of Conan and Ai's relationship with that of Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adlers. Much like how Conan nor Ai say they actually "love" each other; Sherlock Holmes's "love" for Irene Adler is never directly stated. Sherlock Holmes, according to Watson, "respects" Irene Adler; like how Conan seems to 'respect' Ai (in a way).
There is also the fact that Irene Adler was the only woman ever to have bested Holmes-- in all of the episodes of Detective Conan, it seems there is never a woman (or person, for that matter) to have outwitted Conan/Shinichi-- you could say Ai, has come the closest, with her and Conan being of the same level of intelligence, and during episode 411, Ai and Dr. Agasa come up with a riddle for the Detective Boys, and it seems Conan can't figure it out (for he lacks the motivation), and Ai seems particulary pleased about it. But Conan eventually figures the riddle out; though for a bit, Ai had "bested" Conan. There's also the fact that she fooled him in her very first appearance.

=== (Episode 129) The Girl From the Black Organization and the University Professor Murder Case ===
* Upon Ai's arrival at Teitan Elementary School, Genta eagerly offers the seat next to him for her to sit in. But as Ai walks towards the desks, she brushes right past Genta and takes the empty seat next to Conan, and in monotone says to him: "Nice to meet you." Shocking Conan, the only thing he can manage to say is: "Yeah..."

* After class is over, the Detective Boys try to catch up with Ai in the hallway, wanting to ask her to walk home with them. Ai ignores all of Ayumi's attempts to talk to her until she inquires about her address, to which she replies: "22 Beika Block, Second Street." Conan regards the address as familiar and remarks to himself that her house can't be too far away from where his is. Ai then looks over her shoulder and smirks at him, again shocking Conan and causing a small blush to appear right above his nose. Genta notices and asks him if he "likes that stuck-up woman". Which Conan quickly denies.

* When Ayumi and Mitsuhiko are telling Ai about the Detective Boys, she asks if "Edogawa-kun is in it too?". Shortly after, the Detective Boys come across a case, where a fellow classmate's older brother has been missing and wants to find him.

* After solving said case, and Ai fires a gun through a window, causing her to get a scolding from Megure-keibu, and fake-crying (impressively well) to get out of it, Conan walks Ai back home to her house, where she is still crying. When Conan drops her off nearby her home, Ai immediatley stops crying and then brings about a drug called "APTX 4869". Conan is confused, as Ai continues to ramble about the drug, how he took it, and how she did also. It is apparent that Ai isn't just your average little girl. It is not until Ai tells Conan that she's occupied the Professor's house and that he's "not in this world anymore", that Conan begins to freak out. He tries to call the Professor but does not get an answer, while Ai smirks evily in the background (she's got the upperhand, at the moment). Conan then leaves Ai behind and sprints to the Professor's house, hoping to find him safe.

* Later on, Conan, Ai and the Professor come across another case. One involving the locked-room-murder of a University Professor. After Conan solves the case, the Professor and Conan decide to head back home. When Conan gestures for Ai to come along, we see a tear roll down her face as she asks why he didn't help her sister. To answer a confused Conan's face, Ai explains (still in tears) that Hirota Misami was a fake name her sister took from the now-deceased University Professor, and Conan realizes that the same girl (from the previous episode)who died during the one-billion-yen robbery case. And Ai continues to shout at a stunned Conan, with all his deducing skills, he should've been able to see right through her sister's case. Ai breaks down and falls on her knees in front of Conan and clutches his shirt and continues to cry into it. The unfeeling boy, unlike a normal sympathetic human being, denies the very-teary Ai Haibara clutching onto him like she was his only life line (in a way, he was) the hug she very well deserved. But Conan silently thinks to himself: "This is probably the first true face she's ever showed me."

=== (Episode 130-131) The Indiscriminate Threatening Stadium Case===
Near the end of the second part of this case, Ai stares off into the distance after conan made a joke about her being 86 years old. She tells him "I'm only eighteen, about a year older than you. Maybe someday..." before she stares off into the distance again.

=== (Episode 136-137) The Old Blue Castle Investigation Case ===

Conan Edogawa gets lost in a castle where the Detective Boys are staying at and when every one tries to look for him it starts raining.
Ai tells Ayumi to stop crying and that "Edogawa-kun isn't the type to make you worry. He'll come back himself." then comments on Ayumi's bag and about not letting her tears enter it. Ayumi replies, "Hey how do you know Conan-kun so well..."
Ai replies, "Come on. Why do you ask?"
"Is it because you like him, right?"
Ai, surprised but recovers, asks, "What if I do?"
Ayumi replies, "Then...I'm in trouble..." implying that there will be a love triangle if she does.
Ai sees Ayumi is worried and does not want to mess with her anymore and plainly states she does not have those kinds of feelings for him.

=== (Episode 138-139) The Final Screening Murder Case ===

At the start of the second Gomera movie, Ayumi falls asleep and puts her head on Conan's shoulder. When Conan turns to Ai saying he needs to use the restroom and asks her if she would switch seats, she puts her head on Conan's shoulder too, having fallen asleep as well.

=== (Episode 156) Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 2 (Part 1) ===
*The episodes opens with Ai and Conan in what looks to be an abandonned and empty room. Ai tells him that she (possibly referring to Ran) has found out about his identity, when he asks her why she's telling him all this, she tells him that he can see into the hearts of the wicked, but he couldn't understand a woman's heart, then tells him she's been in love with him since she met him. We see Conan's face, but it doesn't appear to be at all surprised, and Ai continues with: "I guess you didn't even notice.. . Kamen Yaiba-san." After Mitsuhiko yells out "CUT!", it is revealed that both Conan and Ai were merely acting, and practicing lines for Teitan Elementary School's play, with Mitsuhiko as the director.

=== Episode 190 ===

While Conan was lying in a hospital bed after a blood transfusion, Ai snuck into his room and held a gun at him. She told him that the Organization would accept her back if she killed him and everyone else related to him. She then pulled the trigger, but it turned out that it was a fake gun that shot red roses from the barrel. Symbolically, red roses represent love or passion, suggesting that Ai might have romantic feelings towards Conan.

=== Episode 231 ===

Ai was petrified because she felt a familiar and scary presence around (from [[Tomoaki Araide]], who is, at the time, actually [[Vermouth]] in disguise). As a result, she wanted to stay on the bus and let go of life as she felt she would always put other people in her surroundings in danger. But Conan came back to save her by grabbing her and jumping out of the bus before it exploded. He wiped his blood onto her so that she can leave the place. He tells her that she shouldn't escape from her destiny. [[Jodie Starling]] said he looked like James Bond.

After the case, Conan and Ai has to run laps for missing the semi-finals. When Conan has three laps to go, Haibara catches up to him and says, "I'll run with you." However, right after that, Ayumi and the rest comes up to them and runs the laps with them

=== (Episodes 335, 336) Secret of the Touto Film Making Centre ===

* In [[Secret of the Touto Film Making Centre|episode 335]], Conan's mother, [[Yukiko Kudo|Yukiko]], tells him that he seems to be popular with girls.<ref>[[Secret of the Touto Film Making Centre|Episode 335-336: Secret of the Touto Film Making Centre]]</ref> Conan automatically assumes his mother is implying [[Ayumi Yoshida|Ayumi]] likes him, and he was already aware of such, but Yukiko replies saying that not only Ayumi but [[Ai Haibara|Ai]] too, saying: "She's looked your way about 10 times already," and continues: "There's only two reasons for a girl to look at a boy like that: he has something on his face or she likes him." Conan is shocked and insists she'd probably only been looking at him to see how the "test subject" for APTX 4869 was doing. Despite this, Conan later tests Haibara, otherwise.

* Before Yukiko left the Detective Boys, Conan and Haibara she's quick to remind Conan to: "never leave her side," before she drives off. To which Conan irritably replies: "I know, I know."

When he is unable to go to sleep because of Genta and Mitsuhiko's loud, audible questions, Haibara calmly reminds him: "it can't be helped; they're just kids, not like us." Conan then takes this opportunity to ask her a question, as the scene grows quiet. Conan solemnly closes his eyes as the fringe on his hair shifts downward his forehead he asks if he can ask her something. She does not reply verbally but turns her head around, as she had her back to him before, to listen. Conan then asks: "Is there something on my face?" with something of an "Oi-Oi" face. Haibara responds with a similar look, but appears to be confused.

===Episode 509 ===

In a scene, Ai wants to know who Conan was talking to on his phone (she thinks it was the FBI). Conan says back, "It's not like a case (jiken) happened or something..." Ayumi eavesdrops and says surprisingly, "It's an affair (jiken)! An affair between Conan-kun and Ai-chan!?" Since jiken could also mean affair. They stared at Ayumi with bewildered and surprised faces.

=== Movie 4 ===

Ai admitted that she wanted to forget about everything and always be with Conan "forever, just like this", shocking him. However, she immediately said she was joking.

=== Movie 11 ===

During the case Ai found a footprints around the back of the shop. Conan than ask her to take a picture of it for him. She reply "Since when did I become your assistant?" he than said "Not assistant, Partner."

There is also the fact that Irene Adler was the only woman ever to have bested Holmes-- in all of the episodes of Detective Conan, it seems there is never a woman (or person, for that matter) to have outwitted Conan/Shinichi-- you could say Ai, has come the closest, with her and Conan being of the same level of intelligence, and during episode 411, Ai and Dr. Agasa come up with a riddle for the Detective Boys, and it seems Conan can't figure it out (for he lacks the motivation), and Ai seems particulary pleased about it. But Conan eventually figures the riddle out; though for a bit, Ai had "bested" Conan.

=== (Episode 129) The Girl From the Black Organization and the University Professor Murder Case ===
* Upon Ai's arrival at Teitan Elementary School, Genta eagerly offers the seat next to him for her to sit in. But as Ai walks towards the desks, she brushes right past Genta and takes the empty seat next to Conan, and in monotone says to him: "Nice to meet you." Shocking Conan, the only thing he can manage to say is: "Yeah..."

* After class is over, the Detective Boys try to catch up with Ai in the hallway, wanting to ask her to walk home with them. Ai ignores all of Ayumi's attempts to talk to her until she inquires about her address, to which she replies: "22 Beika Block, Second Street." Conan regards the address as familiar and remarks to himself that her house can't be too far away from where his is. Ai then looks over her shoulder and smirks at him, again shocking Conan and causing a small blush to appear right above his nose. Genta notices and asks him if he "likes that stuck-up woman". Which Conan quickly denies.

* When Ayumi and Mitsuhiko are telling Ai about the Detective Boys, she asks if "Edogawa-kun is in it too?". Shortly after, the Detective Boys come across a case, where a fellow classmate's older brother has been missing and wants to find him.

* After solving said case, and Ai fires a gun through a window, causing her to get a scolding from Megure-keibu, and fake-crying (impressively well) to get out of it, Conan walks Ai back home to her house, where she is still crying. When Conan drops her off nearby her home, Ai immediatley stops crying and then brings about a drug called "APTX 4869". Conan is confused, as Ai continues to ramble about the drug, how he took it, and how she did also. It is apparent that Ai isn't just your average little girl. It is not until Ai tells Conan that she's occupied the Professor's house and that he's "not in this world anymore", that Conan begins to freak out. He tries to call the Professor but does not get an answer, while Ai smirks evily in the background (she's got the upperhand, at the moment). Conan then leaves Ai behind and sprints to the Professor's house, hoping to find him safe.

* Later on, Conan, Ai and the Professor come across another case. One involving the locked-room-murder of a University Professor. After Conan solves the case, the Professor and Conan decide to head back home. When Conan gestures for Ai to come along, we see a tear roll down her face as she asks why he didn't help her sister. To answer a confused Conan's face, Ai explains (still in tears) that Hirota Misami was a fake name her sister took from the now-deceased University Professor, and Conan realizes that the same girl (from the previous episode)who died during the one-billion-yen robbery case. And Ai continues to shout at a stunned Conan, with all his deducing skills, he should've been able to see right through her sister's case. Ai breaks down and falls on her knees in front of Conan and clutches his shirt and continues to cry into it. The unfeeling boy, unlike a normal sympathetic human being, denies the very-teary Ai Haibara clutching onto him like she was his only life line (in a way, he was) the hug she very well deserved. But Conan silently thinks to himself: "This is probably the first true face she's ever showed me."

Near the end of the second part of this case, Ai stares off into the distance after conan made a joke about her being 86 years old. She tells him "I'm only eighteen, about a year older than you. Maybe someday..." before she stares off into the distance again.

Conan Edogawa gets lost in a castle where the Detective Boys are staying at and when every one tries to look for him it starts raining.
Ai tells Ayumi to stop crying and that "Edogawa-kun isn't the type to make you worry. He'll come back himself." then comments on Ayumi's bag and about not letting her tears enter it. Ayumi replies, "Hey how do you know Conan-kun so well..."
Ai replies, "Come on. Why do you ask?"
"Is it because you like him, right?"
Ai, surprised but recovers, asks, "What if I do?"
Ayumi replies, "Then...I'm in trouble..." implying that there will be a love triangle if she does.
Ai sees Ayumi is worried and does not want to mess with her anymore and plainly states she does not have those kinds of feelings for him.

*The episodes opens with Ai and Conan in what looks to be an abandonned and empty room. Ai tells him that she (possibly referring to Ran) has found out about his identity, when he asks her why she's telling him all this, she tells him that he can see into the hearts of the wicked, but he couldn't understand a woman's heart, then tells him she's been in love with him since she met him. We see Conan's face, but it doesn't appear to be at all surprised, and Ai continues with: "I guess you didn't even notice.. . Kamen Yaiba-san." After Mitsuhiko yells out "CUT!", it is revealed that both Conan and Ai were merely acting, and practicing lines for Teitan Elementary School's play, with Mitsuhiko as the director.

While Conan was lying in a hospital bed after a blood transfusion, Ai snuck into his room and held a gun at him. She told him that the Organization would accept her back if she killed him and everyone else related to him. She then pulled the trigger, but it turned out that it was a fake gun that shot red roses from the barrel. Symbolically, red roses represent love or passion, suggesting that Ai might have romantic feelings towards Conan.

Ai was petrified because she felt a familiar and scary presence around (most likely attributed to undercover [[Jodie Starling]] who is at the time that teacher). As a result, she wanted to stay on the bus and let go of life as she felt she would always put other people in her surroundings in danger. But Conan came back to save her by grabbing her and jumping out of the bus before it exploded. He wiped his blood onto her so that she can leave the place. He tells her that she shouldn't escape from her destiny. [[Jodie Starling]] said he looked like James Bond.

Conan then takes this opportunity to ask her a question, as the scene grows quiet. She does not reply verbally but turns her head around, as she had her back to him before, to listen. Conan then asks: "Is there something on my face?" with something of an "Oi-Oi" face. Haibara responds with a similar look, but appears to be confused.

In a scene, Ai wants to know who Conan was talking to on his phone (she thinks it was the FBI). Conan says back, "It's not like a case (jiken) happened or something..." Ayumi eavesdrops and says surprisingly, "It's an affair (jiken)! An affair between Conan-kun and Ai-chan!?" Since jiken could also mean affair. They stared at Ayumi with bewildered and surprised faces.

Ai admitted that she wanted to forget about everything and always be with Conan "forever, just like this", shocking him. However, she immediately said she was joking.

Sometimes everyone thinks both Conan and Ai have a special relation and friendship that nobody would understand. This is particularly true for members of the Detective Boys who often try to question their relationship.

== Relationship analysis ==

In some episodes and manga chapters, Ai would give hints to Conan about her feelings towards him. But in the end, she would always tell him that she was just joking.

Conan tries to protect and save Haibara if anything happens to her. For example, during [[The Mysterious Passenger]] episodes, where Haibara stayed in the bus that had a bomb in it (to commit suicide because she was afraid of her future, and having to ever face the Black Organization,) Conan immediately saved her and told her to accept fate and never turn back.

Some fans can make parallels of Conan and Ai's relationship with that of Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adlers. Much like how Conan nor Ai say they actually "love" each other; Sherlock Holmes's "love" for Irene Adler is never directly stated. Sherlock Holmes, according to Watson, "respects" Irene Adler; like how Conan seems to 'respect' Ai (in a way).
There is also the fact that Irene Adler was the only woman ever to have bested Holmes-- in all of the episodes of Detective Conan, it seems there is never a woman (or person, for that matter) to have outwitted Conan/Shinichi-- you could say Ai, has come the closest, with her and Conan being of the same level of intelligence, and during episode 411, Ai and Dr. Agasa come up with a riddle for the Detective Boys, and it seems Conan can't figure it out (for he lacks the motivation), and Ai seems particulary pleased about it. But Conan eventually figures the riddle out; though for a bit, Ai had "bested" Conan.

=== (Episode 129) The Girl From the Black Organization and the University Professor Murder Case ===
* Upon Ai's arrival at Teitan Elementary School, Genta eagerly offers the seat next to him for her to sit in. But as Ai walks towards the desks, she brushes right past Genta and takes the empty seat next to Conan, and in monotone says to him: "Nice to meet you." Shocking Conan, the only thing he can manage to say is: "Yeah..."

* After class is over, the Detective Boys try to catch up with Ai in the hallway, wanting to ask her to walk home with them. Ai ignores all of Ayumi's attempts to talk to her until she inquires about her address, to which she replies: "22 Beika Block, Second Street." Conan regards the address as familiar and remarks to himself that her house can't be too far away from where his is. Ai then looks over her shoulder and smirks at him, again shocking Conan and causing a small blush to appear right above his nose. Genta notices and asks him if he "likes that stuck-up woman". Which Conan quickly denies.

* When Ayumi and Mitsuhiko are telling Ai about the Detective Boys, she asks if "Edogawa-kun is in it too?". Shortly after, the Detective Boys come across a case, where a fellow classmate's older brother has been missing and wants to find him.

* After solving said case, and Ai fires a gun through a window, causing her to get a scolding from Megure-keibu, and fake-crying (impressively well) to get out of it, Conan walks Ai back home to her house, where she is still crying. When Conan drops her off nearby her home, Ai immediatley stops crying and then brings about a drug called "APTX 4869". Conan is confused, as Ai continues to ramble about the drug, how he took it, and how she did also. It is apparent that Ai isn't just your average little girl. It is not until Ai tells Conan that she's occupied the Professor's house and that he's "not in this world anymore", that Conan begins to freak out. He tries to call the Professor but does not get an answer, while Ai smirks evily in the background (she's got the upperhand, at the moment). Conan then leaves Ai behind and sprints to the Professor's house, hoping to find him safe.

* Later on, Conan, Ai and the Professor come across another case. One involving the locked-room-murder of a University Professor. After Conan solves the case, the Professor and Conan decide to head back home. When Conan gestures for Ai to come along, we see a tear roll down her face as she asks why he didn't help her sister. To answer a confused Conan's face, Ai explains (still in tears) that Hirota Misami was a fake name her sister took from the now-deceased University Professor, and Conan realizes that the same girl (from the previous episode)who died during the one-billion-yen robbery case. And Ai continues to shout at a stunned Conan, with all his deducing skills, he should've been able to see right through her sister's case. Ai breaks down and falls on her knees in front of Conan and clutches his shirt and continues to cry into it. The unfeeling boy, unlike a normal sympathetic human being, denies the very-teary Ai Haibara clutching onto him like she was his only life line (in a way, he was) the hug she very well deserved. But Conan silently thinks to himself: "This is probably the first true face she's ever showed me."

Near the end of the second part of this case, Ai stares off into the distance after conan made a joke about her being 86 years old. She tells him "I'm only eighteen, about a year older than you. Maybe someday..." before she stares off into the distance again.

=== Episode 136-137 ===

Conan Edogawa gets lost in a castle where the Detective Boys are staying at and when every one tries to look for him it starts raining.
Ai tells Ayumi to stop crying and that "Edogawa-kun isn't the type to make you worry. He'll come back himself." then comments on Ayumi's bag and about not letting her tears enter it. Ayumi replies, "Hey how do you know Conan-kun so well..."
Ai replies, "Come on. Why do you ask?"
"Is it because you like him, right?"
Ai, surprised but recovers, asks, "What if I do?"
Ayumi replies, "Then...I'm in trouble..." implying that there will be a love triangle if she does.
Ai sees Ayumi is worried and does not want to mess with her anymore and plainly states she does not have those kinds of feelings for him.

=== Episode 138-139 ===

At the start of the second Gomera movie, Ayumi falls asleep and puts her head on Conan's shoulder. When Conan turns to Ai saying he needs to use the restroom and asks her if she would switch seats, she puts her head on Conan's shoulder too, having fallen asleep as well.

=== (Episode 156) Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 2 (Part 1) ===
*The episodes opens with Ai and Conan in what looks to be an abandonned and empty room. Ai tells him that she (possibly referring to Ran) has found out about his identity, when he asks her why she's telling him all this, she tells him that he can see into the hearts of the wicked, but he couldn't understand a woman's heart, then tells him she's been in love with him since she met him. We see Conan's face, but it doesn't appear to be at all surprised, and Ai continues with: "I guess you didn't even notice.. . Kamen Yaiba-san." After Mitsuhiko yells out "CUT!", it is revealed that both Conan and Ai were merely acting, and practicing lines for Teitan Elementary School's play, with Mitsuhiko as the director.

=== Episode 190 ===

While Conan was lying in a hospital bed after a blood transfusion, Ai snuck into his room and held a gun at him. She told him that the Organization would accept her back if she killed him and everyone else related to him. She then pulled the trigger, but it turned out that it was a fake gun that shot red roses from the barrel. Symbolically, red roses represent love or passion, suggesting that Ai might have romantic feelings towards Conan.

=== Episode 231 ===

Ai was petrified because she felt a familiar and scary presence around (most likely attributed to undercover [[Jodie Starling]] who is at the time that teacher). As a result, she wanted to stay on the bus and let go of life as she felt she would always put other people in her surroundings in danger. But Conan came back to save her by grabbing her and jumping out of the bus before it exploded. He wiped his blood onto her so that she can leave the place. He tells her that she shouldn't escape from her destiny. [[Jodie Starling]] said he looked like James Bond.

* In [[Secret of the Touto Film Making Centre|episode 335]], Conan's mother, [[Yukiko Kudo|Yukiko]], tells him that he seems to be popular with girls.<ref>[[Secret of the Touto Film Making Centre|Episode 335-336: Secret of the Touto Film Making Centre]]</ref> Conan automatically assumes his mother is implying [[Ayumi Yoshida|Ayumi]] likes him, and he was already aware of such, but Yukiko replies saying that not only Ayumi but [[Ai Haibara|Ai]] too, saying: "She's looked your way about 10 times already," and continues: "There's only two reasons for a girl to look at a boy like that: he has something on his face or she likes him." Conan is shocked and insists she'd probably only been looking at him to see how we "test subject" for APTX 4869 was doing. Despite this, Conan later tests Haibara, otherwise.

* Before Yukiko left the Detective Boys, Conan and Haibara she's quick to remind Conan to: "never leave her side," before she drives off. To which Conan irritably replies: "I know, I know."

* Later that night, the Detective Boys, Conan and Haibara share a bed for sleeping. Conan and Haibara are sleeping side-by-side. When he is unable to go to sleep because of Genta and Mitsuhiko's loud, audible questions, Haibara calmly reminds him: "it can't be helped; they're just kids, not like us." Conan then takes this opportunity to ask her a question, and the scene grows quiet. Conan solemnly closes his eyes as the fringe on his hair shifts downward his forehead he asks if he can ask her something. She does not reply verbally but turns her head around, as she had her back to him before, to listen. Conan then asks: "Is there something on my face?" with something of an "Oi-Oi" face. Haibara responds with a similar look, but appears to be confused.

===Episode 509 ===

In a scene, Ai wants to know who Conan was talking to on his phone (she thinks it was the FBI). Conan says back, "It's not like a case (jiken) happened or something..." Ayumi eavesdrops and says surprisingly, "It's a affair (jiken)! A affair between Conan-kun and Ai-chan!?" Since jiken could also mean affair. They stared at Ayumi with bewildered and surprised faces.

=== Movie 4 ===

Ai admitted that she wanted to forget about everything and always be with Conan "forever, just like this", shocking him. However, she immediately said she was joking.

=== OVA 9 ===

After Conan swallowed the antidote of [[APTX 4869]], he ran over to Teitan High School, and found that everyone had grown ten years older. When he saw Haibara, he grabbed her hand, dragged her outside and pinned her down on a tree for questions.
