The culprit is '''Saya Kitami''', and she is actually 29 years old. She used a recording of Sakurako to lure Kyona into opening the door for her. The murder weapon was Kyona Shono's selfie stick, which Saya took to her own apartment. To close Kyona's apartment door and leave the card inside, she used her toy helicopter. Her motive was that she thought Kyona knew she had accidentally killed an old man in a car accident and fled the crime scene, but in fact the only secret Kyona knew was that Saya was actually 5 years older than she claimed to be.

Afterwards, [[Police Organization#Superintendent (Rank 5)|Superintendent]] [[Hyoue Kuroda]] arrives on the crime scene, announces that Superintendent [[Kiyonaga Matsumoto]] has been promoted as [[Police Organization#Senior Superintendent (Rank 4)|Senior Superintendent]], and that he will be taking his place. Conan looks on in shock and Haibara grips his shoulder in fear, as Kuroda asks for Conan's assistance even in his new position.

[[Ran Mouri|Ran]] and [[Conan Edogawa|Conan]] accompany [[Jirokichi Suzuki]] to Narita Airport to wait for the arrival of [[Wikipedia:Edvard_Munch|Edward Munch]]'s ''[[Wikipedia:Anxiety|Anxiety]]'' and ''[[Wikipedia:Despair|Despair]]''. These two paintings were checked to have no defects, so they were packed and transferred to Suzuki Art Museum by a truck. The three of them get in a car and follow the truck.

Meanwhile, Munch's ''[[Wikipedia:Scream|Scream]]'' arrived at Haneda Airport, and after it was checked to have no problems, it was sent to the museum by another truck. However, Hiroshi Numajiri tells Jirokichi that the truck carrying ''Scream'' drove off course and disappeared without leaving traces.

At the museum there are also [[Sonoko Suzuki|Sonoko]], [[Ai Haibara|Ai]], and the [[Detective Boys]]. Ran can't contact [[Shinichi Kudo|Shinichi]] to solve this case, because the boy is reflecting on the situation with Ai and can't hear his phone vibrates in his jacket pocket, so she does to intervene his father. Before they contacted the police for theft, it turns out that the painting was only transported in very late for traffic problems, but Conan is not entirely convinced and continues to investigate.

When Conan discovers the truth, he calls Ran's cellphone with Shinichi's voice and solves the case in first person, even if he ends its with [[Kogoro Mouri|Kogoro]]'s voice for not arouse too much suspicion.

After the Bell Tree Express incident, Sonoko invites Ran, Kogoro, and Conan to a camp site where she is learning tennis, because she got a text from Makoto holding a racquet. Conan, glad to be leaving the Mouri Detective Agency for a spell after learning Amuro is Bourbon (being near him would be awkward now,) finds out he is Sonoko's tennis teacher. Amuro tries to warn Conan that a racquet is about to hit him, but it impacts his head resulting in a concussion. Amuro applies immediate first aid, and Conan recuperates at the cabin of Machi Umejima and her friend Kotone Momozono, the girl whose racquet went flying and hit Conan. As Machi and Kotone treats Conan's party, there is an obvious animosity between Noboru Takanashi and Saburou Ishiguri, two other friends and classmates. It stems from the untimely death of their friend Uriu. When Conan wakes up, he finds the room overwhelmingly hot and Saburou dead from blunt force trauma to his head.

As Conan was about to tranquilize Kogoro, Amuro looked through his lens and asked what was he doing. Conan, not wanting Bourbon to realize who he really is, instead manipulated everyone's attention to the culprit: '''Kotone Momozono'''. Kotone hid a spare key to the room in a bottle of a frozen sports drink, had it thaw a bit, then used it to commit the murder. She used the still melting ice of the hard bottle to move his body in front of the door. She did it because Uriu, who was an easily emotional guy, would've been afraid to go in the snow. But Saburou made a joke about the snow Uriu took seriously, and died. At first, Kotone thought Saburou's frantic digging in the snow was from disbelief a friend died. But he was retrieving the scarf Uriu worn, as it was evidence he was forced over and didn't simply jump.

Later that night, Bourbon gives Vermouth a call, saying the case was solved but will stay around little longer. When she asks him why, he says the Sleeping Kogoro has caught his interest (while thinking of Conan, hinting he knows Conan is behind the Sleeping Kogoro persona.)

After the Bell Tree Express incident, Sonoko invites Ran, Kogoro, and Conan to a camp site where she is learning tennis, because she got a text from Makoto holding a racquet. Conan, glad to be leaving the Mouri Detective Agency for a spell after learning Amuro is Bourbon (being near him would be awkward now,) finds out he is Sonoko's tennis teacher. Amuro tries to warn Conan that a racquet is about to hit him, but it impacts his head resulting in a concussion. Amuro applies immediate first aid, and Conan recuperates at the cabin of Machi Umejima and her friend Kotone Momozono, the girl whose racquet went flying and hit Conan. As Machi and Kotone treats Conan's party, there is an obvious animosity between Noboru Takanashi and Saburou Ishiguri, two other friends and classmates. It stems from the untimely death of their friend Uriu. When Conan wakes up, he finds the room overwhelmingly hot and Saburou dead from blunt force trauma to his head.

As Conan was about to tranquilize Kogoro, Amuro looked through his lens and asked what was he doing. Conan, not wanting Bourbon to realize who he really is, instead manipulated everyone's attention to the culprit: '''Kotone Momozono'''. Kotone hid a spare key to the room in a bottle of a frozen sports drink, had it thaw a bit, then used it to commit the murder. She used the still melting ice of the hard bottle to move his body in front of the door. She did it because Uriu, who was an easily emotional guy, would've been afraid to go in the snow. But Saburou made a joke about the snow Uriu took seriously, and died. At first, Kotone thought Saburou's frantic digging in the snow was from disbelief a friend died. But he was retrieving the scarf Uriu worn, as it was evidence he was forced over and didn't simply jump.

Later that night, Bourbon gives Vermouth a call, saying the case was solved but is staying around little longer. When she asks him why, he says the Sleeping Kogoro has caught his interest (while thinking of Conan, hinting he knows Conan is behind the Sleeping Kogoro persona.)

=== Situation ===
Mysterious assassinations have been happening around the world. The suspect is a spy accessing classified files. In Japan, a spy breaks into police headquarters and accesses secret files on spies planted in the [[Black Organization]] by many intelligence agencies: the English [[Wikipedia:Secret_Intelligence_Service|MI6]], the German [[Wikipedia:Federal_Intelligence_Service_(Germany)|BND]], the Canadian [[Wikipedia:Canadian_Security_Intelligence_Service|CSIS]], and the American [[Central_Intelligence_Agency|CIA]] and [[Federal_Bureau_of_Investigation|FBI]]. Before this spy can steal the files, [[Rei Furuya]] arrives with a cadre of his [[Public Security Bureau|secret police officers]]. The spy makes a getaway in a stolen car, but Rei soon catches up in his [[Cars#Rei.27s_Mazda_RX-7|Mazda FD RX-7]]. The two jockey for position on the highway and are about to cause a huge wreck. Before they can crash, [[Shuichi Akai]] snipes the spy's car from the hood of [[Cars#Akai.27s_Ford_Mustang|his red and white striped Ford Mustang]]. The spy's car tumbles off the highway and explodes.

The next day, [[Conan Edogawa|Conan]], [[Hiroshi Agasa|Professor Agasa]], [[Ai Haibara|Haibara]], and the [[Detective Boys]] meet up at the newly renovated "Tohto Aquarium". Under the centerpiece of the park, a massive ferris wheel, they find an injured woman with "odd eyes" ([[Wikipedia:heterochromia_iridum|heterochromia]]). The woman is suffering memory loss, she doesn't know her own name and even her phone is broken. Conan and his friends decide to stay together with her and help her to recover her memory. == Modus operandi==

The Black Organization has a long history of biochemistry research. Thirty years before Conan was shrunk, they recruited [[Atsushi Miyano]] and [[Elena Miyano]] to work on research for them. Eventually, the two scientists developed a project they called [[APTX 4869#Silver_Bullet|Silver Bullet]]. Not long after the two died in what some members of the Organization called an accident and their daughter, [[Shiho Miyano]], took over research on the [[APTX 4869]] project. Although APTX 4869 was being developed for another, still secret, purpose, the Organization is using the incomplete prototype as an untraceable, lethal poison.

The Organization's project data for APTX 4869 contains important secrets. One possibility is that the Black Organization's research, especially [[APTX 4869]] development, is trying to create a therapy which will cause immortality, stall or reverse the effects of aging, or extend a human's lifespan. Shiho Miyano said that, in developing APTX 4869, she didn't intend to create a poison,<ref>Manga Volume 18, File 9, page 9</ref> which suggests that APTX 4869 was originally developed with a different goal in mind. It probably was just a useful side effect that the current prototype kills while leaving no trace in the victim’s body, and was thus employed as a poison - a usage which Haibara detests.<ref>Manga Volume 18, File 9, pg 9</ref> Additionally, APTX 4869 is nicknamed the "''incomplete'' detective" by the Black Organization, which means its true purpose has not yet been achieved.

The de-aging effect that occurred when Shinichi and Haibara took APTX 4869 probably indicates the main intent of the drug's development. After [[Pisco]] saw Haibara shrink back to her child form, he commented that he was impressed she had developed the drug to that point, implying that de-aging is in the right direction.<ref>Manga Volume 24, File 11, pg 9</ref> Supporting this is Haibara’s line, "Kudo-kun? According to Haibara’s description about APTX 4869<ref>Manga Volume 24, File 10</ref>, the drug activates [[wikipedia:telomerase|telomerase]], an enzyme which can increase the number of times a cell can divide, and therefore affect a cell's lifespan and “reproductive potential”. The goal of this might be to revert all non-neural cells to a "youthful", high reproductive potential state.

Besides APTX 4869, [[Vermouth#Non-aging|Vermouth's unnatural youth]] is another indicator that the Black Organization may be involved in research towards extending lifespan, halting aging, or rejuvenating the body. In addition, Shiho Miyano’s name was on the raffle list for the immortality arrows in the mermaid case in Fukui.<ref>Chapters 279-283</ref>

====Raising the dead====
There is a possibility that the Black Organization may be trying to develop a method to revive the dead. Suguru Itakura's diary contained a quote by one of the Black Organization's agents, most likely Vermouth: "We can be both God and Devil since we are trying to raise the dead against the stream of time" <ref name=380p13/> The original purpose of APTX 4869 might be to raise the dead. [[Hiroshi Agasa|Agasa]] and Conan later wondered if the line meant that the Black Organization was trying to create zombies.<ref name=380p16>Manga Volume 37, File 8, pg 16: "White Snow, Black Shadow"</ref> Once when Conan asked Haibara directly what APTX 4869 was meant to do she replied, "It's a nostrum to raise the dead. I wonder if that answer is satisfactory?"<ref name=384p8>Manga Volume 32, File 8, page 8: "The Old Picture"</ref> It may be her comment was a bluff intended to provoke Conan into revealing what he had been up to rather than a serious statement of the purpose of the drug.

It is questionable if the Detective Conan's Black Organization and [[Magic Kaito]]'s [[Magic_Kaito_Organization|unnamed organization]] are the same organization. The member of the magic Kaito organization that claimed responsibility for killing [[Toichi]] eight years ago is referred to as "[[Snake]]"<ref>{{cite book |last=Aoyama |first=Gosho |title=Magic Kaito |volume=3 |publisher=Shogakukan |date=1994-10-15 |isbn=4-09-122093-5 |chapter=Blue Birthday |language=Japanese |location=Tokyo |page=140 }}</ref>, a nickname that doesn't fit in with the codenames of the Black Organization, suggesting they are two separate groups. This though may not be the case if Snake refers to [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snake_wine Snake Wine], but because [[Kaitou Kid]]'s origins have yet to be reexplained within the Detective Conan story, this is only speculation.

Additionally the members of the Magic Kaito Organization are looking for a magical gem called [[Pandora]]. The magical nature of Magic Kaito and its organization's search does not mesh with the non-magical setting of Detective Conan.
