Because Professor Agasa's bath is broken, [[Conan Edogawa|Conan]], [[Ran Mouri|Ran]], and [[Ai Haibara|Haibara]] headed for a bath house. In the bath house , Conan notices a suspicious man opening a locker. Conan catches a glimpse of what is inside, and the man closes it quickly.

While thinking about the man, Conan slips and hits his head on the ground. Before he could stand up, the suspicious man walked over to him and covered his mouth with a towel. Conan slowly fell unconscious. Then, the suspicious man and his partner say they're going to take Conan to a hospital and put him in their car.

Just as Conan thought, the suspicious man was a legendary hit man with his accomplice. Hearing that Conan has been taken to the hospital, Ran and Haibara search the nearby hospital but he's no where to be found. Suddenly, a mail saying "My injury wasn't so bad. I'm going to go eat dinner with a man I know." reaches Ran. That email was from [[Shinichi Kudo|Shinichi]].

The hit man and his accomplice who kidnapped Conan because they thought he noticed their plan, notices that Conan has amnesia due to the shock of the fall he had before. They use that amnesiac child for their next plan. First, they feed him another sleeping pill. Then, a woman enters and shoots two of the men dead, leaving the third, who she calls Kondo, the legendary hitman.

The second part of the plan is then unveiled. The woman notes that Conan has a ticket in his pocket to the Yaiba festival and asks Kondo to take him there. Conan is given a backpack full of explosives to wear. The explosives can be remotely detonated...

Conan actually only pretended to lose his memory. At the bath house, Conan noticed three people who were behaving suspiciously. When he looked into the locker, he saw tin cans, and remembered how on TV, there were criminals who stored bombs in tin cans. He was thinking of reporting this to the police, but as he entered the shower room, he saw one of the suspicious men closing in on him, and pretended to slip and fall. The suspicious man then slipped him a drug that knocked him out. When Conan awoke, he pretended to lose his memory. When being offered the sleeping pill, he pretended to ingest it, but instead hid it somewhere. Kondo notices this when he picks Conan up, but instead of mentioning it, picks it up and later that evening, feeds it to the woman.
With the woman asleep, Kondo goes to the room where Conan is sleeping and urges him to run. Conan advises against this course of action, saying it would put Kondo's life in danger. Conan explains the mastermind behind the plan: Tatsu. He faked his death by having his wife shoot him, probably while he was wearing a bulletproof vest. The bombs in Conan's backpack are put into Kondo's appartment.

Meanwhile, Tatsu, who has taken Kondo's wife hostage, calls Kondo about the plan: to crash a truck full of explosives into the car containing the Nihorika First Minister's children. However, as they are in the middle of this, Tatsu's wife comes bursting in, telling him that Kondo had left his cellphone with Conan and that she had lent her phone to Kondo so that he would be able to receive instructions. Suddenly, the police burst into the apartment and arrest Tatsu. As it turns out, Kondo had stuck the tracker onto Tatsu's wife, and Conan, noticing that the tracker was moving, deduced this and called the police. Meanwhile, Kondo had called the police, who then disposed of the bombs.

One afternoon, Shigemi Terakado and Ryuji Matsuo was planning to rid Motoko Kawaguchi from existence. They were planning to murder her and bury her in the mountains.

After that, Haruki Toriumi hired Mouri Kogorou to investigate her missing fiancé, Motoko. Toriumi feels that she must have gotten in an incident. Kogoro and Conan investigated. Three nights ago, Motoko said that she suddenly decided to move. She had movers to pick up her stuff. On the same night, she also suddenly decided to quit her job. Motoko suddenly disappeared from her home and workplace. Suda Kumi appeared and asked where is Motoko. She said that they ran into each other in the city at that evening. Motoko was in her usual self and said that she was going to Shigemi Terakado. Kogoro and Conan went and asked Terakado about Motoko. Terakado owed Motoko much for looking after her. But she haven't seen Motoko for a month.

But her neighbor, Mitsue Uno, said that Terakado met Motoko three days ago. She also said that Motoko was causing trouble to Terakado for extorting her money. This made Kogoro and Conan believe that Terakado was lying and killed Motoko Kawaguchi with the help of Ryuji Matsuo, who moved her stuff.

Kogoro and Conan found out that it was just a planned '''fake murder''' by Terakado, Matsuo, Kumi and Mitsue to save Motoko from her fiancé Toriumi.
Motoko couldn't handle the way Toriumi believed that everything would go as he wanted. Motoko asked to break the engagement but Toriumi refused to save his reputation from embarassment. There was no escape so they worked together to create the fake murder and save Motoko. But '''Haruki Toriumi''' knew about the plan.

After Terakado sent off Motoko, Toriumi confronted Motoko and confessed everything. Motoko thought he would understand her desperation but he didn't. Instead, he dragged her into his car and strangled her. The cuff-links that fell off Toriumi (with his and Motoko's fingerprints) was evidence that they met at that evening.

Kogoro Mouri heads home carrying a ton of prizes from playing pachinko, only to pick up a note from Ran stating that Eri Kisaki is undergoing surgery in Haido Central Hospital. Kogoro charges towards the hospital but sees that Eri had just woken up from her surgery. She kicks him out of her room, and Conan, who had been watching Eri with Ran, follows him.

Upon getting kicked out, Kogoro coincidentally meets up with Tooru Amuro, who is in the hospital to re-investigate the truth behind Shuichi Akai's death. Tooru asks Conan if he knew someone named Rikumichi Kusuda, a deceased Black Organization member; unfortunately, Conan makes up a bad lie, so Tooru finds out that Conan does know Rikumichi.

Meanwhile, Reina Suto, Katsuki Beppu, Tokie Happo, and Juri Kosaka (a hospital patient) are having a tea party, and a case happens...

The culprit is '''Juri Kosaka'''. Prior to event, Juri invited Reina and suggested her to have a tea party among friends. After Reina chose the Hibiscus Tea, Juri switched the tea with Butterfly Pea Tea and put a lemon on it, turning it slightly pinkish-red in order to trick Reina that the tea is Hibiscus Tea. During the time that the three friends were looking at Reina's cellphone, Juri switched her own Butterfly Pea Tea disguised as Hibiscus Tea with lemon that she applied poison on the rim in advance with Reina's cup, Afterward, she removes the lemon from the cup and adds baking soda inside to complete the trick. The evidence is a stain of lipstick on her finger, and that her tea contains high amount of baking soda.

Juri's motive however, is not because her son failed an exam due to that he caught a cold from Reina's son (who Reina forced to come study at the Kosaka House to spread cold to reduce opponent in the exam), but because that she was pregnant at the time. Juri had a miscarriage due to the cold and after hearing a confession from Tsuneo, decided to take revenge for Reina's selfishness.

As Conan, Ran, Kogoro, Tooru Amuro, and Detective Takagi leave the hospital, Takagi states that Haido Central Hospital is cursed; previously, Rena Mizunashi was a patient of that hospital, an injured man forced his way into the hospital, and there was a bombing threat in that hospital. Fearing that information regarding Rikumichi Kusuda would be leaked to Tooru, Conan tries to send Takagi away from the others by reminding him that he should head back to the Tokyo police headquarters, since it was getting late. Unfortunately, Tooru was able to ask Takagi about Rikumichi at the last second, and Takagi says that in Rikumichi's car, there were bloodstains less than 1 mm across. Tooru deduced that Rikumichi was shot by a gun.

And the girls were happy when they took the picture and video. After taking a photo of the alien, someone screamed "It's an alien, help!!!!". After that, he fell down from the stairs and then took his last breath. The two girls, together with the man dressed as an alien, witnessed and captured the scene of the falling man.

After that they started to investigate if that was accident or foul play so they questioned who knows the victim freely. Well, neither of them are unemployed. And that man is Tsuneyuki Tamai. Last 6 months, Yazuo Hanzaki was laid off at his job where he worked at. Tamai said that he was blackmailing someone, and went out last night to get money from them. Conan asked who are blackmailing them, and he doesn't know, and he never locked his front door, and inside is not worth stealing.

After they questioned Takedera, Conan was wondering where he got the idea to become an alien, and he said that was Omi Akira. He said that he suggested the place and time where coincidentally the fall happened. Then, the Detective Boys investigated about Omi Akira. Is it really an accident or a murder? Conan and the Detective Boys investigated and found out the truth. What is it?
