==Anime==
The series, entitled Great Detective Conan (명탐정 코난), debuted on KBS 2TV , January 10th 2000. The show is popular, winning the Toonichoice award 2 times.

===KBS===
The series, following the success in Japan, was dubbed and broadcasted through KBS 2TV starting January 10th, 2000 through November 6th.

Unlike other dubs, the KBS 2TV dubbing team also separately recorded a new song instead of using the opening used in the Japanese versions. These versions also erased/blurred out pictures of knives and guns due to warnings from government. However, because of the continued protest from parents and low ratings due to its rival show of the time, Pokémon on SBS, the show ended in November the same year, in episode 78 (101 in Japanese version).

These episodes were later bought by the animation special cable TV station, Tooniverse, and reruns were often played.

===Tooniverse===

Starting in May 10th, 2004 the series was continued, and was advertised as Season 2. Although many did not, several of the voices changed. Since then, every May or April was greeted by a new season of the series, each ending about 2~4 months later, although each season consisted about 44 episodes.

The series has currently started it's 16th Season (2018), opening in episode 741 (826 in Japanese version), ending in episode 779 (864 in Japanese version). Several episodes were skipped, mostly due to extreme violence (only earlier in the series), or the usage of Japanese tradition in the deduction.

On September 10, 2001, GMA Network aired its very first episode of Detective Conan - broadcasted during 4:00 pm. It continued to air for about two months until it was taken down. It re-aired again in October 2002 until 2003 and 2007 as well as July-December 2008.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://tl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detective_Conan|accessdate=2014-04-03|publisher=Wikimedia Foundation|date=2014-02-14|title=Detective Conan}}</ref>

In July 2010, they re-aired it with the new season starting from episode 128 broadcasted during 9:00 am. This was aired until November 2010.

On July 4, 2011, they anime re-aired again because of the series' 10th year anniversary on Philippine televisions. In some rare cases, the anime was broadcasted beyond weekends due to loss of episode during weekdays or due to demands of fans. If the anime reached the Holy Week, the anime is broadcasted. On January 8, 2012, they aired the first Sunday Detective Conan episode. The 2012 re-run was discontinued on March 11, 2012.

On November 12,2012 they re-aired new episodes, starting episode 174. On March 17, 2014, during its return on-air, new episodes of Detective Conan are announced on the teaser of GMA's "Astig Authority". On April 23, 2018 new episodes returned.

They have aired [[Episode ONE]].

An English adaptation of the series by Animax Asia premiered in the Philippines on January 18, 2006, under the name Detective Conan. Because Animax were unable to obtain further TV broadcast rights, their version comprising of 52 episodes. The series continued with reruns until August 7, 2006, when it was removed from the station.

== Manga ==
The manga of the series was released in Filipino language in January 2013. It was published by J-line Comics & Marketing Corporation. As of March 2014, two volumes has been released.

The Philippines is also in the distribution area of Shogakukan Asia, which publishes an English edition of the Detective Conan manga in Southeast Asia.

'''Unmei no Roulette Mawashite''' is a single by Japanese rock band [[ZARD]]. It is the 4th opening in '''[[Detective Conan]]''', and as a single, was released on September 17, 1998. The song became a big hit for the band, and peaked at #1 on the Oricon sales charts. The B-side of the single, [[Shōjo no Koro ni Modotta Mitai ni]], was used as the ending theme for the second movie, [[The Fourteenth Target]].

A music box version of "Unmei no Roulette Mawashite" appears on the ZARD CD "[http://www.amazon.com/Zard/dp/B0031IH4XY/ref=sr_shvl_album_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1276097945&sr=301-1 ZARD ~Memorial~: Orgel Sound Collection]" released in 2009.

Although the uncut Japanese version appears on their DVDs the song doesn't sync up quite right with the animation. The version used on the FUNi releases is not as up beat as the original version. Over the course of the series, 22 characters have come to know that [[Conan Edogawa]] is actually [[Shinichi Kudo]] (11 of which are not manga [[canon]]). In addition, [[Ran Mouri]] has noticed similarities between the two and [[Kogoro Mouri]], [[Wataru Takagi]] and [[Rei Furuya]] have shown signs of doubting that Conan is just ''"very smart"''. This should not be confused with the [[List of characters who know Conan is Sleeping Kogoro|people who know Conan is the puppeteer behind Sleeping Kogoro]].

In their respective categories, characters are listed by the order they came to discover, or become suspicious of, Conan's identity.

== Canon ==
So far eleven people have learned Conan's true identity is Shinichi in the manga canon. Four were told the truth, six discovered it for themselves. However the remaining one became aware of this is unconfirmed.

Shortly after Shinichi had been shrunk, he went back to his home, but was unable to enter his house due to his shrunken state. Professor Agasa had soon appeared and Shinichi revealed his identity, although he didn't believe Shinichi even after he displayed knowledge that only Shinichi would know. During their second encounter in the [[Holmes Freak Murder Case]], he started to realize the similiarites between Conan and Shinchi as well as the fact that neither of them were in the same room together during their first meeting. Due to this, Heiji came to realize that the young child Conan Edogawa was in fact the famous high school detective Shinichi Kudo. However, he lacked proof until he secretly witnessed Conan speaking in Heiji's voice after Heiji was knocked unconsciousness by the Stun-Gun Wristwatch. He secretly regained consciousness and witnessed Conan solving the case in his voice and confronted him shortly thereafter. He realised that Kogoro's skills as a detective were different before he began "Sleeping Kogoro" and noticed that Conan was always by his side whenever he was solving a case as well as the fact that Shinichi had taken a leave of absence from school around the exact same time.

Upon these discoveries, Eisuke discovered Conan Edogawa was really Shinichi Kudo, but still didn't know how he became small. This reveals that even before they first met, Eisuke knew all along who Conan really was. When he first met Conan, Eisuke purposely fell into him, knocking off his glasses. Then acting as if he couldn't see, he called Conan, Detective Mouri. Later after finding his sister and learning the circumstances, Eisuke revealed his desire to go to America to join the CIA to follow in the footsteps of his father and sister. Eisuke also confesses to Conan that he is in love with Ran and desires to bring her with him to America, but wants to ask for Shinichi's permission after learning that Shinichi and Ran are in love. Due to this, Conan reveals himself as Shinichi Kudo, refusing Eisuke's request and Eisuke then revealed this truly confirms his suspicions and confesses to knowing Conan's true identity all along.

Whether or not Kid's assistant Konosuke Jii is also aware of Conan's identity is unclear but most likely if Kid truly knows. Though, Conan instantly asked Kid to disguise as himself, Shinichi Kudo, to get help from the police quarter, when Conan was thrown from the ship in the sky and Kid jumped to help him (movie 14). When she heard that her husband had plunged himself into debt, she suffered a breakdown which contributed to her death soon afterwards. Then, Nagai murders Oshiro for revenge.

Upon that revelation, Nagai remembers Conan, or rather Shinichi, from an incident ten years ago, when one of a group of children visiting his toy shop had dropped a toy engine to the floor, breaking it. Shinichi found out which child had done it, but Nagai kindly refused to punish the offender for this accident. The startlement from this realization convinces Nagai to turn himself over to the police, and Inspector Megure orders a thorough investigation of Kuromaru's dubious business practices. When Megure asks Nagai why he has decided to surrender himself, Nagai replies that a "mysterious boy who has [[APTX-4869|remained unchanged]] for ten years" has influenced him into doing so, as a sort of messenger from his late wife.

Unfortunately, when Kogoro woke up, he began to question Conan about Yoko's whereabouts. He was also suspicious about the fact that whenever Conan tried to pull him outside, he always fell asleep right after. Kogoro angrily grabbed the boy's suit jacket and wanted to "clear things up". Much to Conan's luck, Yoko Okino appeared for real and Kogoro completely lost his suspicions.

The Detective Conan manga is published in Spain by Planeta Cómic (until 2014, under the name Planeta DeAgostini) in 1998 and the Anime was broadcasted firstly on [[Wikipedia:Cartoon Network|Cartoon Network]] in 2001.

==Manga==
The manga was first published in 1998, with 13 volumes released as of 2000 before its cancellation. With the success of the Spanish dub of the series, the manga continued being released, in a bigger format and under the title Volume 2. Issues 1 to 32 of the second volume were only half of a Japanese volume (meaning the 32 Spanish issues were 16 Japanese issues). From 33 onward, they're the same length as the Japanese release. For the sake of continuity (apart from the fact that the first 13 volumes were hard to find) Volume 1 was re-released in the new format on 2004.

Also, 31 volumes of ''Detective Conan Special'' have been released between November 2006 and October 2009, albeit with less success than the mainstream series.

The first 2 novels have been released by Timun Mas (a label from Grupo Planeta) on October 2008.

The ''Magic Kaito'' manga has been also published. The first 3 volumes we're released on 2004, and volume 4 on November 2008. All four were republished on March 2016 and Volume 5 will be in stores on May 2020. The special ''Magic Kaito vs. Detective Conan'' was also available on April 2008, with a 2nd edition on July 2017.

In 2011, a new edition has been released, called ''Detective Conan: Nueva Edición'' (New Edition) which has two Japanese volumes in one Spanish volume. As of March 2020, 29 volumes have been released.

The anime-comic of the 14th movie was published on January 2020.

A Catalan version was also created, based on the Spanish translation. The first 4 volumes were released between November 2004 and May 2005. This version was cancel due to weak sales, but the Published decided to give a second chance on 2008 with 4 more volumes, but it didn't reach the sales expectations and was cancel again. Two new volumes have been announced for 2020, being Volume 9 the first available on April 7th.

Curiously, all Spanish manga releases are inverted so they can be read as a Western comic. This leads to changing some dialogue in order to fit the pictures (for example, all instances of mentioning someone is left-handed are changed to right-handed, and vice versa or some explanation if not like "the direction of reading has been inverted").

==Trivia==
* The logo used is the same as the standard international logo.
* Nearly all of the characters have the same name. An exception would be [[Ai Haibara|Sherry]] was once named Jerez in Spanish dub, which is just the spanish word for sherry.
* In Spanish Manga Films dub, the currency is American Dollar.
* During around 30 episodes of Spanish Dub, Professor Agasa is called Hakase Agasa. This is a translation mistake because Hakase means Professor in Japanese. After these episodes the mistake is fixed.
* Kaito Kid was called "Kid el Ladrón" (Kid the Thief) in the Spanish dub. In the Catalan dub, he was called "Kid Cat el Lladre" in his debut, but then changed to "Kaito Kid" and "Kid el Lladre" interchangeably. In the Galician dub his name was "Caco Kid" and in the Basque dub "Katalapur Gazterean".
* The TV airing of Spanish dub and Balear Dub is slightly censored. Blood is digitally erased or reduced, but there are no cuts. However, the dub itself is uncut, so there are references to the censored blood (for example, Conan may say "there's blood in the floor" even though the blood is erased). A possible explanation could be that the censors were made after the series was dubbed. In Catalan, Galician, Valencian and Basque the censorship doesn't exist.
* In the Catalan dub Conan's voice changes depending on the situation. When he's pretending to be a kid, he has his child voice, but when he's talking to someone who knows his real identity, his voice changes to Shinichi's, as if his voice hadn't changed at all. This causes a severe plothole when he needs his bowtie to speak as Shinichi, which it may look like he wouldn't need at all. But it just may be "the tone" he uses while he do not pretend to be a kid and speak his real self, while actually his voice obviously cannot sound like his adult self.
* In the Catalan dub, in Kaito Kid's first official appearance as Kaito Kuroba his name was miswritten as Kaiti Kuroha.
* In the Catalan dub, when Conan says Haibara's real name for first time he omits the second H as in some Latin languages the H is muted.
* In the Catalan dub Sato and Takagi are miscalled "Inspectors" instead of detectives. Although in few episodes are called "Investigadors" (investigators), a more related word to the detective rank. The same happened with Chiba, although it has been referred more often as "agent" (officer).
* In the Spanish dub, Kazuha was spelled "Kazuya". In Catalan it was pronounced "Kazua" (with a silent H) until episode 515, when it changed to the more accurate "Kazuha" (pronouncing the H).
