Kogoro, Conan, and Ran are invited by Yuzan Morikawa to a remote island where Morikawa mansion is located. Yuzan, whose body has been consumed by late-stage cancer, asks Kogoro to help him and his lawyer, Hiroki Oi, rewriting the will, and to select one person that is worthy of inheriting his legacy.

Later, the group have a small tour around the mansion, lead by chief butler Yuka Shito. While they are looking at the tank room, they meet the first son Yuichiro, who is researching a new flavor for the soft serve. After that, they go to reception room, where they meet the second son Yujiro, and the third son Yuzaburo. However, it seems that the siblings always having a fight over the inheritance.

When it is dinner time, Yujiro doesn't show up. At fisrt, nothing feels wrong. After dinner, Oi reminds the whole group that the will shall be rewritten tomorrow afternoon. However, both Yujiro and Yuzaburo doesn't show up during breakfast. The others decide to check their rooms. Yujiro is not found in his room. Meanwhile, they found Yuzaburo lying dead in his room.

Oi stops Kogoro from calling the police, as it will be considered a breach of contract. However, he allows Kogoro to investigate the case. Conan also investigate, and even ask Yuzan some questions. He later return to their room, where Ran is thinking to have another soft serve. However, the machine is not working. Fortunately, Yuka come in and fix the machine. Suddenly, along with the soft serve, there is also some red-color stuff coming out from the machine. Conan then realized there is "something" in the soft serve tank.

Oi then reveals that he secretly call the police as he predicted that the police will arrive after the will has been rewritten. Yuichiro express his fear as his brothers had been killed and he is clearly the next. He then decides to return to his room.

Kogoro, Conan, and Ran return to their room and discuss the identity of the culprit. Meanwhile, Yuichiro successfully make a new flavor of the soft serve. He goes to the roof and enjoy the soft serve. He is very happy with the flavor, and with him being the only one alive, he will get all the inheritance. However, a loud sound is heard, and Yuichiro fall into the backyard. He got one shot through the heart from behind and died instantly.

Conan deduces the postion of the shooter, and later finds a rifle lying inside the tool room. He also smell something familiar. Conan then ask Yuka to show him Yuichiro's room. After investigating the room, Conan knows what happened.

It turns out that all three brothers tried to kill each other. After finding out '''Yuzaburo''' tried to kill him, '''Yuichiro Morikawa''' kills him off by freezing him in his room using the soft serve machine, where he directed the vent outwards. In order to prevent Yuzaburo leaving the room, Yuichiro "locked" the room using the soft serve, inserted it into the keyhole, and make it freeze when the soft serve machine temperature reached minumum temperature. The timer was set to heat the room after Yuzaburo died, which made the soft serve melted away, creating a locked room.

Conan deduces that Yujiro was killed when he asked Yuichiro to meet him at the tank room. The evidence is the bamboo charcoal Yuichiro used to make the new soft serve flavor, which was found at the tank room and Yuzaburo's room. '''Yuzan''', who oversaw all of this using the cameras installed in every room, grabbed the last bit of his strength and killed Yuichiro. The evidence is that there was the smell of the gunpowder, medicine, and Yuzan's inside the tool room.

Yuzan clarified that '''Yujiro''' is the one who tried to kill Yuichiro. Yuzan shows the camera footage where Yujiro and Yuichiro had a fight at the tank room, where Yuichiro ended up getting the upper hand and killed him accidentally. Yuzan confesses that the reason he planned to rewrite the will is that he wanted his sons to remember what he have taught since they were boys, which is the willingness to share with each other. In the end, he asks Conan to tell the police what happened, and to make sure Yuichiro's recipe sees the light of day. After saying that, Yuzan died peacefully.

Later, Oi arrives at the room and informs that Yuzan has entrusted whoever solved the case with the distribution of his legacy, which means Conan is the one who will do it. Conan decides to leave the entire inheritance to Yuka Shito, in whom he saw actual interest in the soft serve over the money. Through Oi, he hands over Yuichiro's recipe and asks her to make it public.

==== Aftermath ====
The case ends with Conan, Ran and Kogoro leaving on the boat and Ran showing two huge stacks of soft serve she made thanks to the skills she learned from Yuka. Ran then gives Conan one of the soft serve.</spoiler>
