Situation
Part 1
Conan unsuccessfully tries to convince Haibara to give him a couple antidotes in order to go to the Kyoto trip with Ran as a high schooler. Suddenly, Haibara finds out she lost the Higo puppet phone strap she bought at the stadium store. It was particularly precious to her because Ryusuke Higo touched it in the bleachers during the football match. She freezes in disbelief and collapses against the wall.
Conan makes a deal with Haibara: he'll go and with the Detective Boys to find her phone strap, in exchange for the antidotes. Conan and the Boys are helped by Amuro and rush to the train stations' lost and found, all while being spied on by a strange man.

Part 2
They successfully locate the the boy and his father at the beach. The two are glad to have the situation resolved and take out the Higo phone strap to give to Conan. Suddenly, the mysterious man appears and swipes it out of his hand.
The man asks Conan who he is, but he simply tells him that he can stop playing dumb. Conan fist explains that the man could change his flat cap and jacket at the beach store, but there was no way of changing out of his pants without going to the changing room. The man tries to explain himself by saying that he's changing so he can go clam digging, but Conan rebuts that it's late in the afternoon; everyone is beginning to leave and it's too late to start. Conan then points out the price tag attached to is hat which, proving that he had just bought and put on the hat. Conan finishes by saying that the strap is sticking out from his bag. The man then checks and smugly replies that it is fully hidden in the bag, ultimately exposing himself. The man tries to escape but Conan knocks him out with his soccer ball. Amuro comments on Conan's Power Enhancing Kick Shoes.

Aftermath
The mysterious man turns out to be innocent. There were two Higo phone straps bought at the stadium, and the man also dropped his on the train, which was picked up by the boy and his father. Haibara's strap had actually been in Genta's hood, until it dropped out in a parking when it started raining. At the end, they are able to return the strap but it was partially destroyed, having been run over by a car. The DBs washed it and drew a replacement eye with a permanent marker. Haibara looks at the strap as her excitement turns into disgust and horror, refusing Conan's pleas to give him the antidote. Professor Agasa treats the Detective Boys for finding the strap, and Subaru asks about the driver of the RX-7 (Amuro) for a confrontation.</spoiler>
Situation
The man asks him who he is and Conan tells him that he can stop playing dumb and that first, he took off his flat cap and jacket and hid them in a bag he bought at the store but he had to change his pants at the changing room which is why Conan waited for him there. The man tries to explain himself by saying that he is going to change so he can go clam digging but Conan tells him that it's late in the afternoon and that people are going to leave which wouldn't leave him enough time to dig for clams. Conan tells him that even if he tries to explain himself, there is the price tag still on the hat which prooves he had put the hat hastily and to trick him, he says that the strap sticks out from his bag to which the man replies that it is well hidden in the bag and takes it out making himself exposed. The man then tries to run but Conan kicks his ball on him and knocks him out while the DBs keeps him from running away by blocking him making Amuro impressed.
Aftermath
At the end, they are able to return the strap but it was all dirty since it was run over by a car so they washed it and they drew an eye with a permanent marker since it was gone making Haibara angry and not wanting to give him any antidote. Professor Agasa then treats the Detective Boys by giving them refreshments and Subaru asks himself where is the driver of the RX-7 (Amuro) so he can confront him.</spoiler>
Situation
The fact that Azusa's doppelganger was playing her in the previous episode is revealed when Azusa says that she didn't go to the concert hall. However, only Conan and Amuro himself knows that the doppelganger was actually Vermouth in disguise. Conan thinks that since Vermouth bothered to investigate, the Black Organization must really be interested in the cipher left by Kōji Haneda seventeen years ago. Azusa also reveals that she saw a strange duo in front of Mōri Detective Agency talking something about "cleaning rags".

Roar
The strange couple was actually Heiji and Kazuha. They were talking about "rags to riches" which has a similar pronunciation. They came because the mayor of Yadori village, from Shimizu-ku in Shizuoka Prefecture, had found an important clue and sent Heiji a letter requesting help to unearth Tokugawa's buried treasure. Kogoro is nonchalant to the idea since the treasure will end up belonging to the government anyway. Scared of the dangers of treasure hunting, Ran initially refuses but consents when Kazuha and Heiji suggest that Shinichi might be invited there too.

The organizer and mayor Takekuma Densuke drive them to a run-down hotel. The hotel prospered at a time when tourists came to see the Kurogane Lake but since the incident when a member of the team unearthing Tokugawa's buried treasure died in an excavation accident. According to the legend, when Ieyasu was nearly captured in the war by Imagawa, an old couple hid in the Kurogane Forest. When the country finally stabilized, he gave the couple and their son a mountain of gold coins to thank them for their kindness. This is clearly mentioned in a nursery poem: "In the morning and evening sun, two thousand jars glitter with a thousand gold coins." The reporter, Hajime Tsurumi flirts with Kazuha and Ran facing Heiji's wrath. A dog appears which seems to like Tsurumi, making him to admit he doesn't like dogs.

Ran wanted to give an answer to Shinichi's confession in London and is sad because it seems the mayor didn't invite him. Meanwhile, Hattori is planning something on his own, probably a confession to Kazuha in a magnificent place and time.

Charles Abel was a foreigner who spoke broken Japanese. He was the one who got in the accident. When the team arrived, he was still alive, his body jammed between the rocks but he couldn't speak as his throat was destroyed. He was handed a piece of paper and pen to write. The team froze seeing what he had written "nue", a monster who has the head of a monkey, body of a tanuki (Japanese Raccoon Dog), legs of a tiger and tail of a snake. It is named after a bird which has the same eerie voice. The mayor actually wants to revitalize the town and gain publicity by making a video of the treasure hunt.

When they go to sleep, Heiji notices fire in front of the hotel. When they rush to the site, the nue appears. It rips the warning sign and takes it away with its mouth. Heiji and Conan take the other way to avoid the fire. When they arrive, there are teeth marks in the signboard though the creature is nowhere to be seen. Conan finds blood spots on the ground. On going a bit further in the forest, they find Someji, the historian dead with long scratches on his back as though he was attacked by a wild beast.
}}

Claw
Someone directed the mayor in a letter to invite the people to revitalize the village. The unknown sender also mentioned who should stay in which room. Ran and Kazuha exchange rooms and their room is taken by Tanzawa Michiki, the archaeologist. The reasons for inviting each of them were also mentioned. Tanzawa once examined the area of Shizuoka in the past. Until a few years ago, he was famous as a commentator in TV programs on ruins. However, he experienced a setback when some pottery he unearthed was suspected of being fake. Masuko Fumie is an author who is knowledgeable about Japanese monsters. She graduated from an art school.

The letters also suggested using the nue to revitalize the town if the buried treasure didn't work. Someji Yasukatsu, the murdered documentary reporter was a historian knowledgeable about Tokugawa's buried treasure. The letter simply suggested that Tsurumi Hajime is a fledgling reporter who travels across the country for monster stories. The members of the excavation team have all disappeared and even their names are unknown. Heiji was invited because the mayor had spent some amount of money for repairing the hotel so he was unable to invite Kogoro and also was unable to contact Shinichi.

While they are talking, fire engulfs the area and they hear the nue's scream. Tanzawa is heard screaming. He is found lying dead in his room with two sting marks on his chin, probably poisoned.

Inspector Yokomizo Sango of Shizuoka Police appears. He seems suspicious of the situation initially but on seeing the evidence, he contacts his superiors to mobilize the self-defence force, a little too much of exaggeration on his part. The mayor mentions a drop of water falling on his cheek and the simultaneous sound of opening of a carbonated beverage. Fumie denies having to do anything with it and Tsurumi was too far away from the site of the incident.

Resolution
<spoiler>
Faking the Nue
The culprit used perspective shift to simulate the enlargement of the size of the nue. The culprit used a screen with a steep drawing of the windows in the hotel and dressed the dog as the nue. The tree in the line of sight of the observer and the darkness of the night combined with the smoke make the nue appear larger in size. The dog was trained to carry the sign on hearing the nue's cry, which was exchanged with the real sign with the giant teeth marks next to Someji's body to make it appear that the nue had killed him. The sound of the nue can be produced by rubbing a moist finger on the lip of a half-filled wine glass.

Clues and Evidence
* Faking perspective requires the knowledge and experience of an artist.
* Under the guise of putting out the fire, the culprit scattered metallic sodium to ignite the fire the second time.
* Putting an empty ballpoint pen tube in a cork, securing tape around it, then closing and shaking the soda water bottle, the culprit could shoot water at a distant target.
* Tanzawa was similarly poisoned by attaching a twin-pronged poison dart to the cork instead of a tube. The weapon was retrieved using a string attached to it.
* The culprit probably trained the dog and planted the tree to obstruct the view when she came to the hotel before.

Conclusion
The Culprit was Fumie Masuko. Fumie admits she killed the two victims. Charles Abel was actually her husband. During the accident, Tanzawa and Someji had run away without trying to help Abel. Even after all these years, they had no repercussion of their deeds and shamelessly came to unearth the treasure that had once caused their coworker's death. Charles was actually trying to write "metal" ("tetsuno" in Japanese) as he had found a metallic hairpin. As a foreigner, he had never seen one before and after writing "metal", he was trying to show the team the paper and the hairpin to ask them what it was. But since he wrote with a permanent marker, the ink bled through producing "nue" instead. Heiji also reveals that Hajime is the son of Fumie and Charles. This is why, the dog recognizes him as his former owner. She invited Hajime to have him see her avenge his father. Similarly, according to one legend, the nue was actually the mother of Minamoto Yorimasa, who transformed into the beast so that her son could slay it.

Aftermath
Heiji tries to confess his feelings for Kazuha, but is interrupted by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force landing nearby on the orders of Yokomizo to capture the Nue and secure civilians. Surrounded by soldiers, Heiji decides not to confess. Some time later, the high-school student Momiji Ooka reads about the case on her smartphone and calls Heiji her future husband.</spoiler>
After an unlucky morning at the pachinko salon, Kogoro who walks about sees Conan at a small police office near a train station. He walks in angrily only to find out that Conan was there only to return a found wallet. As they are about to leave the well-known comedian Rokusuke Dodonpa (real name: Rokusuke Tanigaki) walks in and announces to have murdered his chief.
}}

With Kogoro, Conan, Megure, and Takagi at the crime scene, Chiba brings the housekeeper Ueki to the scene. The victim is Hideki Tendou, Dodonpa's manager and president of the production office. The comedian who turned himself in explains to the police that he has entered the office at 11:10 AM, showed off some of his work to his boss to which he replied that it is cheap, to which Dodonpa threatened the president that he would find another agency. This exchange enraged him and he struck Tendou with a bat which was in the room. Journalists try to force their way into the room to gather statements, but they are hastily dismissed by the police. It appears to be a straightforward case, with the murderer coming forth and admitting his crime, but Conan makes a couple remarks regarding the simplicity of the case and the fact that there appears to be no real motive present. Rokusuke tells the police that he had arrived by train at 11AM, came to the house 10 minutes later and by 11:30 AM he had already turned himself in, which Conan and the train's cameras can attest to, the reason for it outrage was the fact that his manager never signed him up to appear in a variety show on television, even after he asked him for it. The bat was sent to forensics and they confirm that it contains traces of blood and hair from Tendou's body.

Conan wanders around the building searching for clues, meeting the housekeeper who shows Conan that the garden door was left open and that an iron bar was left in the garden, which most likely belonged to a nearby construction site. While Conan takes a look at the bar, he sees Takagi pacing towards the building, who reports that the forensics' conclusion is that the bat, which Dodonpa claimed to have used is, in fact, not the murder weapon as it doesn't fit Tendou's cephalic trauma, which must have been inflicted by a cylindrical-shaped object. After further inquiries about how the bat got tainted with blood and hair, Dodonpa still claims to be the culprit. Conan takes a stroll through the building and asks the housekeeper about other guests who have visited the house today. He tells him that not many have as most of them as on vacation, and before Dodonpa's visit, Tendou left the building to buy lunch. The police's investigation yields results as a nearby convenience store proves that he had bought lunch shortly before 8 AM. Megure questions Dodonpa's whereabouts at 9 AM, to which he states to have visited his former teacher, Izumi Suda, now a painter, who lives an hour's drive away. Chiba and Takagi visit her and confirm that he had indeed visited her. He made a quasi-appointment with her and visited at 9 AM sharp (as seen by her analogue clock that hangs next to the door) to return a book he had borrow earlier. Medical forensics have found out that the tempus mortis is 1 hour after he had eaten the purchased food, circa 9 AM which excludes Dodonpa from suspicions. After he is confronted with the evidence, he admits to not being the murderer but also to not know the real culprit. He explains that his real motive was to protect Tendou's honor. He claims that even though Tendou was a shady person, who abused his position and extorted people, he really gave his best for his career and pushed him forward. By admitting guilt for the murder, which he did not do, he would keep Tendou's slate clean. After he found the body, he took the blame and hit him to make it appear real, without thinking of consequences. Even though he's not the culprit, he will still face charges for meddling with the crime scene. With the main suspect now unknown, the investigation is back to step one, as Megure orders Chiba and Takagi to find the people whom he extorted.

In front of the building, journalists try to get a statement from the comedian, who explains the situation and apologizes profoundly. Conan asks a journalist how he found out about the case, since nobody from the outside could've leaked information regarding it, to which he responds that he had received and anonymous tip. Conan worries if there is more to it and if perhaps Dodonpa had tricked them into believing he's innocent.

Part 2
Ran went to a karate tournament, so Conan and Kogoro eat breakfast without her. Rokusuke's apology is publicly broadcasted via television, and when Conan's mentioning about how much of a good person he must be, to take the blame in order to protect his boss' honor, Kogoro says that he'll probably be swarmed with contracts from new agents, making the whole situation look even more fishy.

Conan arrives at the crime scene with his Skateboard where he meets Takagi. He questions him in "Kogoro's stead". He tells him that the culprit has used the backyard's stairs and that the metal rod comes from a construction site in Beika. Chiba enters the scene and reports that no matter whom he asked, everyone spoke highly of the victim and that he had a good reputation. Megure calls Takagi and tells him that the 'culprit' has called the police station from a public phone booth, and told them that he had information regarding Hideki. In a flashback it is shown that the caller used some kind of voice-alteration to make it appear higher than normal, to which the police concludes that it was a woman who called, stating that she knows the culprit but that they will never catch him. Dodonpa returns to the crime scene, having overheard the talk between the three of them, he asks whether they are certain that it is a woman, but Conan tells him that Mouri knows who the culprit is and that he will be able to prove it in the near future. As Rokusuke's about to pull out his cigarettes, the drops a packet of tissues from a pachinko hall, which startles him. Conan again pretends to question in Kogoro's stead when he asks the cashier in the nearby convenience store if Hideki has said anything, to which he tells him that, since Hideki always arrives at the same time, he has prepared his meal for him, to which he replied that he usually eats his meal while watching a morning show at 8 AM where the hostess is very cute.

Conan tries his luck with the artist, Izumi, but to no avail since she doesn't know of the great detective. Having failed this way, he uses his voice altering bowtie and calls Kogoro pretending to be Megure. With the purple-suit detective by his side, they begin questioning Izumi-san about her routine. She tells them that she has neither television, radio or a mobile phone and that the only way to tell the time is the clock on her wall. She also mentions that at that time she usually paints which makes her sleepy afterwards. She confirms, to Mouri's question, that Dodonpa was there yesterday at the given time, after he made and appointment the evening before by telephone. She also mentions that she was more than usually sleepy yesterday when the policemen arrived, thinking it might have something to do with the cake Rokusuke has brought. Conan's last question is answered negatively, regarding whether she looks her door at night, stating that she doesn't have to since the area is pretty safe. As they are leaving the area, they are approached by a man who offers them tissues from a pachinko hall, stating that the entrance is free. Conan asks him if the gave out the same tissues yesterday, to which he replies that he did at around 10 AM. Conan additionally asks if he had given them to anyone famous from television yesterday, which surprises the young man.

With Rokusuke being summoned to the scene and Megure, Chiba, and Takagi already waiting, as they enter the apartment Kogoro's (Conan's) reasoning begins.
Resolution
<spoiler>He reveals that the culprit is not a female, it was a trick to de-route the attention and suspicion to someone else. The culprit is Rokusuke Dodonpa. The fact that he turned himself in, even though he had an apparent alibi, was actually a plot thought out by him to make sure he wouldn't be accused of being the actual murderer. He arrived at 8:30 AM at Beika where he stole an iron rod. He climbed the stairs behind the house to arrive at 9 AM at the apartment of the president, whom the stroke down with it. He hid the rod and drove to the Akebono district where he met up with Suda-san, at 10 AM. The night before the murder, he snuck into the artist's home and dialed the clock 1 hour backwards. The next morning he arrived at the false-9 AM with a cake which was laced with sleeping pills. As she fell asleep, he corrected the clockface and left.

Evidence which supports Conan's theory is the pachinko hall promoter who recognized Dodonpa as he offered him tissues. He asked him for an autograph and as their exchange became physical, Rokusuke dropped the art books which he returned to the artist, which the promoter recalls. Kogoro says that it will become clear once they check the fingerprints on the books, not of the culprit, but those of the promoter, that he indeed was there at the given time. After he had perfected his alibi, he returned to the crime scene and struck the president with the bat, then turned himself in.

After he had carried out the deed, the gave the tip to the media about the crime and by fake admitting the crime he had given himself a strong base to stand on for future work once his alibi would be confirmed.

The mentally ill driven Dodonpa, who admits the crime, claiming that the victim was a bad person and that by committing murder he had hit two birds with one stone, sees nothing bad in what he had which aggravates the policemen. Megure snaps and starts yelling at him, demanding to know if he doesn't understand that he had erased a human life. After the short exchange, he breaks down crying, saying that he knows what he did and that he regrets what he has done.

After the case was solved, Kogoro and Conan leave the scene when they are again approached by the promoter. Kogoro bursts into a short moment of anger and hunts him down, with Conan joking that for a great detective he is easily being lied to.</spoiler>
Steam
Conan, Ran, Sonoko and Masumi are walking through the woods as Masumi explains the reason for their excursion, that she has been asked by her brother to visit his former classmates in order to solve a case, as well as the fact that herself, and both her older brothers have different surnames.
Sonoko and Ran spot a red woman lurking in the woods and describe her to the group, which is interrupted by Conan falling and discovering a swamp.

The group reaches the villa which looks normal except for the fact that its door is painted red. As they stand outside they are soon greated by the other guests, Tamami Minegishi, Sumika Kawana and Masaie Hakuya and Jinsuke Ninda who arrive together. Conan asks Jinsuke about his bag to which he replies that he carries a Baseball bat with him for self-defense purposes.
Inside the villa, the group is enjoying a delicious meal prepared by Tamami, however the mood of the discussion swiftly changes after Ran mentions the person they spotted earlier in the woods. The guests then tell the story of the murder case involving the Red Woman, from 15 years ago and the disappearance of Satoko from 3 years after the incident, in which they have found her dead body in a bog.

The guests further tell the group that since 2 years ago, strange things have started to happen, such as a broken window and a lot of apples in a room, a water tank filled with red blossoms and red paint on the front door which is the reason for it to be painted completely red since the color wasn't removable.

After dessert, the group divided itself into a few smaller ones; Masumi and Conan went outside to find hints about the red woman, Jinsuke went shopping, Tamami cleaned the dishes, Masaie the bathroom and toilet and Sumika the upper floor, Sonoko and Ran are helping out as well - while cleaning they hear Sumika's vacuum cleaner through the roof as it appears to be a powerful one and have a short conversation with Tamami, who is behind closed kitchen doors, regarding the dinner. Shortly afterwards, Sumika joins them and asks for their help to clean the other rooms, on their way through the house they discover that Masaie has apparently cleaned the bath already and filled the tub with water which is just right for taking a bath. Sonoko comments on the water's color, which is green, to which Sumika replies that it's a special bath salt, then the three of them decide to take a bath together.

Jinsuke returns from his trip, together with Masumi and Conan, whom he picked up on the way. After a short exchange they hear a scream from the bathroom where the bath tub has been filled with tomatoes. As Jinsuke mentions that Masaie cleaned the bath and toilet, Masumi rushes to the bath tub only to find Hakuya's lifeless body drowned in it.
}}

Conan takes a look around the room and sees female underwear, Ran's towel drops and as he sees her naked before his eyes it is implied that blood gushes out of his nose and Conan can be heard and seen falling and fainting.

Evil Spirit
With the arrival of the Nagano police, the murder case and details, such as the fact that no blood traces where found in the bathroom is explained to Yui Uehara, who remembers Conan from earlier cases. As the other guests are in distraught over Masaie's death, their whereabouts are told to Yui, Tamami was preparing dinner, Sumika was cleaning rooms and Jinsuke went shopping.
It is mentioned that the water was coloured green-ish due to the bath salts, Masaie lost conscious due to a head injury caused by dumbbells, which also kept his body under water, which wasn't visible due to the floating tomatoes in the bathtub. Jinsuke accuses Masaie's murder to be the work of the Red haired woman, to which Yui explains that there was a second body found in the lake murder case, Takeno's body, which was identified by using DNA from her navel cord which her mother kept. That means that the red woman is alibied out by being dead. After Jinsuke's baseball bat is inspected and made clear that it is not the murder weapon, it is confirmed that it indeed was the dumbbell which was used. The group also mentions how odd it appears to be, for a fan to be in the room. Masumi and Conan experiment with a tomato, realizing who the murderer is. While Sonoko is joking around with Ran, a power failure happens and Sumika is attacked by the Red haired woman.

}}

With the whole group together in the living room, under candle light is Uehara-san tending to Sumika's wounds, as she tells others that for the past ten years there were strange occurences in the woods. Holiday villas have been vandalised, not only have pranks happened, such as where the group is staying, but rather as if somebody had broken into the houses and lived there.
With lightning striking outside, and the candle light perishing, a silhouette of a woman is seen again in the woods. Members of the group panic, afraid of getting murdered by the rampaging woman, Masumi takes control of the situation, lighting the candle and telling them that there is no such thing as a witch or monster, except in fantasy worlds, that it has to be a human being, which she, with her Jeet kune do and Ran, with her karate, can handle. She is introduced to Yui, and states that she lived in the United States for three years, but missed Japan, and returned to "meet the magician once again", only for that reason.

Revenge
Yui Uehara, Masumi and Conan conduct a search in the rooms of the guests, to no avail, since they don't fine knife-like objects or wigs. While they consider Sumika faking the attack on her, the duo clears up the possibility due to the nature of her cut, which was horizontal. A woman is seen lurking outside again, which, although not connected, startles Uehara after her being mentioned.The group checks some pictures which point to the red hints of all the previous 'pranks'. In one the pictures, Satoko is seen wearing a cardigan, to which Yui points out that on the day she was found she was wearing a red coat. She points out that the ones who found the knife 3 years ago were Kansuke Yamato and Taka'aki Morofushi, while they were still attending police academy. Morofushi was sure that the bones which were found belonged to the red woman, while Yamato was opposed to the idea, even after it had been proven, he refused to accept it.

At the moment, the two of them are questioning the retired policeman who was on duty during the past case, who is now working at a Pachinko salon. It turns out, the now retired policeman was afraid of the red haired woman and couldn't follow her deeper into the woods, he had given a false report to the police, in which he hid the fact that she threw her knife at him, which traumatized him, forcing him to retire. After Yui explains the mistake from 15 years ago to Conan and Masumi, they both are sure about the identity of the murderer.
Shortly after the trio joins the group again, Masami takes the leading role and begins her reasoning, revealing the culprit. The explains that Masaie's body was hid in the water even before the checking of the temperature took place and further explains the method the culprit used to create an alibi for himself/herself. Together with Conan's help, the trick how tomatoes have been hid under the bath water is revealed, as well as the culprit.
Resolution
<spoiler>Conan and Masumi affirm their deductions and prove Sumika Kawana was the one who killed Masaie by bludgeoning him and hiding him in the tub. She used a bat and a fan to create the sounds of a vacuum to sound like Masaie was upstairs when he was already dead. Conan also shows that tomatoes don't float unless there is salt mixed in with the water. By adding more salt, she exposed the tomatoes and the body creating an alibi. Masumi also points out that she was the woman in red they saw on the way to the cabin as she handed Masumi the photos from earlier to investigate without hesitation while the other thought she was a boy. She killed Masaie because he had Satoko play the Red Woman for a prank, and she fell into the bog and died. But since she killed Masaie, who attacked her? The real Red Woman appears, but Yamato and Morofushi arrive and take her away. The woman who attacked Sumika was Shinobu Kagawa, the mistress of the man killed by the Red Woman, because Sumika was dressed as her. The mistress picked up the knife from the crime scene 15 years ago and had been searching the forest for the red woman, not knowing that she was dead. Conan also suggest that maybe Satoko ended in the bog, because she was attacked by the mistress who mistook her, as she was wearing red clothes, for the red woman, so the girl tried to escape but drowned instead. Conan later finds Masumi's phone and sees a photo of Masumi and a young girl with Akai eyes.

}}

}}

Conan later finds Masumi's phone and sees a photo of Masumi and an young girl with Akai eyes.
The world's greatest blue sapphire, the "blue lapis fist", said to have sunk in a pirate ship in the late 19th century, on the coasts of Singapore. A local millionaire plots to retrieve it, and when it's exhibited in an exhibition at the Singaporean Marina Sands hotel, a murder takes place. A bloody Kaitou Kid announcement card is found in the crime scene.
In the meantime, Kogoro, Ran, and Sonoko have come to Singapore to see a karate tournament held there. Conan, who doesn't have a passport and can't travel overseas, was supposed to stay at home. But Kid, who wants to make use of him, uses a magical trick to forcibly drag him to Singapore. Conan must obey Kid if he wants to get back to Japan, gets his glasses, wristwatch and clothes, amongst others, all stolen from him and he has to disguise himself.

Ran, who doesn't realize who he is, asks him his name and he improvises the name Arthur Hirai. Disguised as Shinichi, Kid eventually gets a hold of information about the fist being stored in a manor's underground vault. Just when he was thinking that he'd made it inside very easily, he finds a dangerous trap awaiting him. Facing him is the strongest karateka with a streak of 400 consecutive victories: Makoto Kyogoku.

Leon Low, the Singapore detective and criminal behavior psychologist, aims for the legendary secret treasure buried in the seabed for a purpose, and hinders both Conan and Kid. They must confront Leon and his excellent secretary, the beautiful Rachel Cheongu.
Situation
Kogoro is hired by Misaki Yanai, an old friend of Ran and Sonoko from middle school, to re-investigate the suicide of her older sister, Nagisa. Misaki believes that her sister didn't commit suicide but was murdered instead. Kogoro phones Inspector Megure and is told that the case was indeed a suicide due to the credible witness testimonies and forensic confirmation, causing Misaki to burst into tears. With Conan's suggestion, Kogoro allows her to retell what actually occurred.

| description = Five days ago around 6:00 pm. While Misaki was talking with Ms.Kodama in the courtyard, Nagisa tied a rope to a beam on the ceiling in the club room and hung herself. As the front door was locked, they called Mrs.Yanai, the principal, for help. Unfortunately, they were too late to save her.
}}

As Nagisa had planned to marry Shibagaki after she finished high school, she has no reason to commit suicide. They later arrange for Takagi to share them the crime scene's photo while Kogoro brings up an interesting topic about the case: none of the three suspects possess a motive to murder Nagisa nor benefit from her death. The group also learns that Shibagaki was two-timing Nagisa and Kodama, causing the latter to broke up with him when she learned the truth. Still not satisfied, Conan, Ran, Sonoko, and Misaki head to Yanai High School to recreate the crime scene with Sonoko acting as the victim. They discovers that the stool Nagisa supposedly used to hang herself contradicts the height and position where Misaki saw her from the courtyard.
Resolution
<spoiler>This case is murder. The culprit is Toichiro Shibagaki. Originally, the suicide was in fact an acting by Nagisa as a surprise for Ms. Kodama due to it being her idea for the school play. As there was a huge model of the school in the middle of the room, Nagisa had to use an item other than the stool in order for Ms. Kodama and her sister to see her clearly: Shibagaki's model tank, which was modified to hide the antenna inside it. Once Nagisa began her "suicide" at 6pm, Shibagaki pressed the controller while he was conversing with the principal in her office, moving the tank and causes the girl to hang herself. In addition, he ordered all the benches other than the one that Misaki and Kodama sat to be painted that day, as well as locking the front door to prevent any intervention to his plan. The motive is that Shibagaki embezzled huge amount of money from the school. He murdered Nagisa to force the school to shut down and conceal his crime.</spoiler>
