== Plot overview ==
In the second murder, they found that he had been dead for only a few minutes but when [[Conan Edogawa|Conan]] fell on the code of blood, it didn't smear when it takes 25-30 minutes for human blood to dry. It was just a trick that the killer used to manipulate the time of death of the victim. Upon looking at the pictures, there was a button that was lighted near Kuroiwa's neck. But after the body was moved, the light was turned off. This was actually the reverse button. While the police weren't looking, the killer turned off the light. The killer used the reverse side (the blank side that didn't have the song), which played for over 30 min and then it reversed. That was when the 5 minutes and 30 seconds of gap played before the music started.

In the third murder, the killer didn't have the time to put a chair or desk at Nishimoto's feet because he had to escape in time. The killer was probably male because the murders required a lot of physical strength.

The purpose of drowning Kawashima was to send the forensic examiner back to Tokyo, because it was impossible to do an autopsy on the island. The tape in the second murder was a setup so the killer could create an alibi.

Conan deduced that the killer was Narumi Asai and that she was, in fact, Asoh's aforementioned son, Seiji Asoh. Asai was probably the surname of the family that adopted him. After graduation, he came to the island as a female doctor. The pronunciation of his name was not written on his diploma, nor the medical license, because if they checked his history, they would have found out that he was a man: the kanji forming Asoh's name could be read as either "Seiji" (a male-only name) or "Narumi" (a female-only name): coupled with Asoh's feminine features and rather girlish voice, it let him masquerade as a female doctor rather well, plus falsifying the times of death and manipulating the crime scenes. When Seiji was done, Conan insisted that he should escape and live; Seiji refused, however, saying that he was already too bloodstained. When Asoh stated that he wouldn't cooperate any longer, they got scared that their secret might be exposed, so they locked the family in their home and set it on fire. This was all written in the sheet music that he left behind in the safe as his confession to his remaining son. Seiji was hospitalized in Tokyo at the time of the murder, and later was adopted by a friend of the Asoh family.

Seiji went back to the island, under his "Narumi" disguise, because he never believed that "Keiji Asoh killed his family and himself" version and wanted to find out the truth. As said above, when he told Kameyama that he was Asoh's son, the late mayor was terrified and told him everything an then had a fatal heart attack. Seiji played the Moonlight Sonata that his father loved so much upon seeing the mayor dead, and ultimately that gave him the idea of taking justice in his own hands.

After Seiji's death and the end of the case, Conan and [[Ran Mouri|Ran]] talked about him. They wondered why did Seiji summon Kogoro when he knew how risky that would be for his plan, and Conan speculated that it wasn't just a challenge - that deep down, Seiji wanted Kogoro to stop him.

Seiji's death left an impression on Conan, who might feel that he is no more different than a murderer for driving Seiji to suicide with his deduction and didn't manage save him.

As Kanenori Wakita, he has a short black hair, a toothbrush mustache, prominent buck teeth, and soft medical dressing over his left eye. He is right-handed. There are conflicting accounts of his overall appearance and build among the Black Organization members, but he fabricated them to keep his identity a secret. Some think Rum is a strongly-built man, some say he looks feminine, and some say he is an old man.

Without the disguise of the buckteeth, wig and medical gauze, Rum is an older bald man with a strong build, a fairly tall, fair skin tone, black eyes and white facial hair. Although disappointed he won't get to see Kogoro in action, he is also first to propose a solution, which is very nearly close to correct, although he might have made his error in order to test Sleeping Kogoro in action. However, since he was mistaken, Conan darts Kogoro to put the case to rest decisively. He is impressed and asks to be Kogoro's disciple in exchange for discounts on sushi. Kogoro accepts, but it isn't clear if the response was serious.

It is soon revealed that someone has assembled all of them together keeping their identity secret. Next they are trapped inside the church and two of the people were killed. They team up with pairs to investigate the case and he pairs with Kogoro. He realize Conan and Amuro are working well as a pair along the case. He is also looking forward for Conan's future when he grow up. After they are rescue from the church, he introduce himself as Kogoro's apprentice along with Amuro to Nagano prefecture police inspector, [[Taka'aki Morofushi]].

In this case, he seems has relatively good deductive ability by solving the mysterious coding with the murder case. After the case, he asks Conan whether he is concern of something which is missing like a shogi piece, which Conan denies.

After several FBI members were killed as the Black Organization was able to decode their communication, the FBI planted a fake code. However, Rum was able to detect such fake code due to the difference in romaji writing, then his subordinates were able to counter trap and attacked the FBI members instead. Although the collaborative efforts of Akai and Conan managed to keep Camel hidden for a while, Rum figured out their strategy and instructed Gin to burn the Umizarujima, successfully luring out him into the open. However, they were fooled into thinking to have successfully eliminated the FBI agent. After the case, Rum was scolded by the boss, stating that their actions at Umizarujima stood out a bit than they should have been. Despite receiving an earful, the boss is pleased with the recent turn of events, commending Rum and the others for successfully killing the man that the FBI desperately protected. Rum then puts on his disguise and drops off at Iroha Sushi, and is revealed to be Kanenori Wakita.

Both of the other suspects, Hyoue Kuroda and [[Rumi Wakasa]], apparently have their right eye blind/prosthetic, which is why he stands out among them.
* He has an interest in Sleeping Kogoro, just like Gin, while Wakasa and Kuroda personally have more interest in Conan. On top of that, since it was Sleeping Kogoro that solved the murder behind the occult detective who try to solve Kohji Haneda's [[Case from 17 years ago|murder case]], it is only natural Rum's main focus and interest would be on Kogoro, because he wants to stop him from investigating the truth behind that murder at all cost. He took an interest in reports of Shinichi's return and even tried to visit his house.
* Rum in text messages has twice used the English phrase "Time is money", which can be translated into Japanese as "時は金なり", whose Romanization "Toki wa kane nari" is an anagram of "Wakita Kanenori".

Even if there is no customers that ordered sushi for delivery, he can easily fake an order to his own shop, thus allowing him to leave it either way, just like when he can investigate Shinichi.
* When Amuro, Conan, Kogoro, and Wakita were on the train to Nagano mountain, he said that he hated betrayal, which seemingly meant he sensed that Bourbon betrayed him by sending him fake information about Shinichi's death. He completely snapped when the suspects started badmouthing Kogoro's actions after checking the victim's condition, something that Bourbon hinted afterwards that Rum is an impatient person. What's more interesting, after the whole case had been solved, Taka'aki Morofushi came to them and pretended he didn't know Amuro by shaking hands with Kogoro, asking him who these two men were, although Taka'aki had met him before when [[Hiromitsu Morofushi|Scotch]] was still alive. Presumably, Kuroda ordered Taka'aki calling him to help Amuro by acting as a stranger in front of Wakita, so that his true identity as an undercover agent working for the NPA could be hidden. Before leaving, Taka'aki didn't forget to mention a saying which was similar to "Time is money".

Although disappointed he won't get to see Kogoro in action, he is also first to propose a solution, which is very nearly close to correct, although he might have made his error in order to test Sleeping Kogoro in action. However, since he was mistaken, Conan darts Kogoro to put the case to rest decisively. He is impressed and asks to be Kogoro's disciple in exchange for discounts on sushi. Kogoro accepts, but it isn't clear if the response was serious.

It is soon revealed that someone has assembled all of them together keeping their identity secret. Next they are trapped inside the church and two of the people were killed. They team up with pairs to investigate the case and he pairs with Kogoro. He realize Conan and Amuro are working well as a pair along the case. He is also looking forward for Conan's future when he grow up. After they are rescue from the church, he introduce himself as Kogoro's apprentice along with Amuro to Nagano prefecture police inspector, [[Taka'aki Morofushi]].

After several FBI members were killed as the Black Organization was able to decode their communication, the FBI planted a fake code. However, Rum was able to detect such fake code due to the difference in romaji writing, then his subordinates were able to counter trap and attacked the FBI members instead. Although the collaborative efforts of Akai and Conan managed to keep Camel hidden for a while, Rum figured out their strategy and instructed Gin to burn the Umizarujima, successfully luring out him into the open. However, they were fooled into thinking to have successfully eliminated the FBI agent. After the case, Rum was scolded by the boss, stating that their actions at Umizarujima stood out a bit than they should have been. Despite receiving an earful, the boss is pleased with the recent turn of events, commending Rum and the others for successfully killing the man that the FBI desperately protected. Rum then puts on his disguise and drops off at Iroha Sushi, and is revealed to be Kanenori Wakita.

He wears a patch over his left eye, which may conceal a prosthetic, and has still it despite saying that it will heal. Both of the other suspects, Hyoue Kuroda and [[Rumi Wakasa]], apparently have their right eye blind/prosthetic, which is why he stands out among them.
* He has an interest in Sleeping Kogoro, just like Gin, while Wakasa and Kuroda personally have more interest in Conan. On top of that, since it was Sleeping Kogoro that solved the murder behind the occult detective who try to solve Kohji Haneda's [[Case from 17 years ago|murder case]], it is only natural Rum's main focus and interest would be on Kogoro, because he wants to stop him from investigating the truth behind that murder at all cost. He took an interest in reports of Shinichi's return and even tried to visit his house.
* Rum in text messages has twice used the English phrase "Time is money", which can be translated into Japanese as "時は金なり", whose Romanization "Toki wa kane nari" is an anagram of "Wakita Kanenori".
* He can be deceptive. As of now, he has yet to meet Haibara and communicate with her directly in any cases, making him the primary suspect to have a different response compared to Kuroda and Wakasa when seeing her later.

Even if there is no customers that ordered sushi for delivery, he can easily fake an order to his own shop, thus allowing him to leave it either way, just like when he can investigate Shinichi.
* When Amuro, Conan, Kogoro, and Wakita were on the train to Nagano mountain, he said that he hated betrayal, which seemingly meant he sensed that Bourbon betrayed him by sending him fake information about Shinichi's death. He completely snapped when the suspects started badmouthing Kogoro's actions after checking the victim's condition, something that Bourbon hinted afterwards that Rum is an impatient person. What's more interesting, after the whole case had been solved, Taka'aki Morofushi came to them and pretended he didn't know Amuro by shaking hands with Kogoro, asking him who these two men were, although Taka'aki had met him before when [[Hiromitsu Morofushi|Scotch]] was still alive. Presumably, Kuroda ordered Taka'aki calling him to help Amuro by acting as a stranger in front of Wakita, so that his true identity as an undercover agent working for the NPA could be hidden. Before leaving, Taka'aki didn't forget to mention a saying which was similar to "Time is money".

Conan, worried about Rum, wants to know what happened to Wakita's eye. He turns out to be a fan of Sleeping Kogoro's and wants to know about Kogoro's cases. Kogoro tells him about the recent [[A Cottage Surrounded by Zombies|zombie murder]], leaving out certain embarrassing details. A pickpocketing case then coincidentally falls into their laps. He challenges Kogoro to a deduction contest: a race to figure out which customer stole the lady's million yen winning ticket first. He cleverly and decisively comes up with excuses to keep all the suspects from leaving the sushi bar when they try to leave to avoid being accused. Although disappointed he won't get to see Kogoro in action, he is also first to propose a solution, which is very nearly close to correct, although he might have made his error in order to test Sleeping Kogoro in action. However, since he was mistaken, Conan darts Kogoro to put the case to rest decisively. He is impressed and asks to be Kogoro's disciple in exchange for discounts on sushi. Kogoro accepts, but it isn't clear if the response was serious.

They team up with pairs to investigate the case and he pairs with Kogoro. He realize Conan and Amuro are working well as a pair along the case. He is also looking forward for Conan's future when he grow up. After they are rescue from the church, he introduce himself as Kogoro's apprentice along with Amuro to Nagano prefecture police inspector, [[Taka'aki Morofushi]].

Although the collaborative efforts of Akai and Conan managed to keep Camel hidden for a while, Rum figured out their strategy and instructed Gin to burn the Umizarujima, successfully luring out him into the open. However, they were fooled into thinking to have successfully eliminated the FBI agent. After the case, Rum was scolded by the boss, stating that their actions at Umizarujima stood out a bit than they should have been. Despite receiving an earful, the boss is pleased with the recent turn of events, commending Rum and the others for successfully killing the man that the FBI desperately protected. Rum then puts on his disguise and drops off at Iroha Sushi, and is revealed to be Kanenori Wakita.

He wears a patch over his left eye, which may conceal a prosthetic, and has still it despite saying that it will heal. Both of the other suspects, Hyoue Kuroda and [[Rumi Wakasa]], apparently have their right eye blind/prosthetic, which is why he stands out among them.
* He has an interest in Sleeping Kogoro, just like Gin, while Wakasa and Kuroda personally have more interest in Conan. On top of that, since it was Sleeping Kogoro that solved the murder behind the occult detective who try to solve Kohji Haneda's [[Case from 17 years ago|murder case]], it is only natural Rum's main focus and interest would be on Kogoro, because he wants to stop him from investigating the truth behind that murder at all cost. He took an interest in reports of Shinichi's return and even tried to visit his house.

Even if there is no customers that ordered sushi for delivery, he can easily fake an order to his own shop, thus allowing him to leave it either way, just like when he can investigate Shinichi.
* When Amuro, Conan, Kogoro, and Wakita were on the train to Nagano mountain, he said that he hated betrayal, which seemingly meant he sensed that Bourbon betrayed him by sending him fake information about Shinichi's death. He completely snapped when the suspects started badmouthing Kogoro's actions after checking the victim's condition, something that Bourbon hinted afterwards that Rum is an impatient person. What's more interesting, after the whole case had been solved, Taka'aki Morofushi came to them and pretended he didn't know Amuro by shaking hands with Kogoro, asking him who these two men were, although Taka'aki had met him before when [[Hiromitsu Morofushi|Scotch]] was still alive. Presumably, Kuroda ordered Taka'aki calling him to help Amuro by acting as a stranger in front of Wakita, so that his true identity as an undercover agent working for the NPA could be hidden. Before leaving, Taka'aki didn't forget to mention a saying which was similar to "Time is money".
