The killer was '''Juzo Tonoyama''', and Yayoi was "the other woman" in his marriage. She apparently didn't know that Tonoyama was a married man so she angrily started to demand for marriage, and he decided to kill her before his wife found out she was cheated on. In his anger, Tonoyama attacked Eri but she used judo to pin him down, which allows the police to catch him.

After that, Conan uses his child-like looks to try to force Wakaoji to reveal that he wanted to have sex with the girl he was waiting for, thinking said girl was Ran. To his surprise, it wasn't Ran... but it ''was'' someone they knew: Sonoko, who angrily calls him out. Conan is confused, and then Ran and Eri meet up. Eri lectures Ran on her too short miniskirt and she calls her "mom", sending Conan into a shock.

Kogoro is recommended by someone to a wealthy family for a routine assignment; the man wishes to find his first love. With the police roaming around the house, though, Conan begins to wonder if that's really all there is to it. His answer comes when suddenly, the son of the wealthy man supposedly kills his child hood friend. Later they celebrate the chairman's birthday, then Nobuko became very angry at Miyuki and goes out of the room. Later they receive a call from Mitsuaki, that he was attacked by a man wrapped with bandages. Later, they saw Hideomi holding a knife in his mouth, and found Mitsuaki stabbed through the spike fence.

Later that night, Nobuko reveals that one day, there was fire in a lodge where Mitsuaki is stopping Hideomi to go into the fire, where he save a little girl, where she reveals the identity of the girl is Miyuki Hyoga. On the second day, Nobuko spanked Miyuki where her fountain pen (the last present that she recieve from her parents), where they drained the water on the fountain and found Hideomi dead.

The culprit is '''Miyuki Hyoga'''. She found out that the fire that killed her parents years ago was started by Mitsuaki Nagato, with Hideomi Nagato as a reluctant co-conspirator. She tricks Mitsuaki by luring him with a plan to murder Chairman Nagato, since Mitsuaki coveted the Chairman's position, only to push him off the balcony to his death. The Hideomi that appeared to throughout the episode were actually either Mitsuaki or Miyuki in disguise, as the real Hideomi had killed himself the day before and left behind a suicide note revealing the truth of the fire. When everything is revealed, Miyuki tried to commit suicide with a firelighter and gasoline that she had hidden inside a geyser, but fails because Conan, having discovered the gasoline earlier, replaced it. Chairman Nagato talks Miyuki out of suicide by revealing that he knew her mother, mentioning that the pen she always carried with her was actually a gift he gave to her mother when they were children. Conan later reveals to Heiji that Miyuki's mother was actually Chairman Nagato's first crush.

== Background ==

Toichi's first heist was how he first met his wife. It involved him wearing an outfit that was in homage for the great Arsène Lupin for his next magic show. Toichi saved Chikage which is how they fell in love. When people saw it, Toichi automatically knew the outfit was going to be his costume.

Toichi as Kid was the greatest jewel thief in Japan as well as the best stage magician in Japan until he was murdered in a fake magic accident. Toichi seems to have had a friendly rivalry with [[Yusaku Kudo]], as Yusaku successfully stopped one of Toichi's jewelery heists and then ''gave'' Toichi the "Kaitou Kid" name when he purposely misread a "1412" a news reporter had scribbled down. Toichi daringly sent a letter as the Kaitou Kid to Yusaku once with only a question mark on it, questioning whether Yusaku would be able to stop him again. (Yusaku replies with an exclaimation mark, meaning that yes, he will.)

It is subtly implied that Toichi is the very man who taught Yusaku's wife [[Yukiko Kudo|Yukiko]] and [[Sharon Vineyard]] the finer art of disguise. Having died eight years before the start of the Magic Kaito manga, Toichi has not played an active role in the plot. However, he still has a posthumous influence on his son Kaito, whose stated reason for dressing as the Kaitou Kid is to find the men who killed his father. Kaito later unearths that his father was killed by [[Snake]] over a mysterious jewel known as the [[Pandora Gem]].

Toichi appeared in a flashback episode of Detective Conan, where it was revealed that he had instructed [[Yukiko Kudo]] in disguises and that he and [[Yusaku Kudo]] were semi-friendly rivals.

Luckily, the island happen to be where the Hatamoto family have their weddings, and when their were just leaving the island, the passengers of a nearby boat noticed them and picked them up. However, trouble strikes when the clan leader Gozo Hatamoto is found murdered.

** In contrast, the white flower that was found in said crime scene (the main "evidence" against Takeshi, who wore it on his lapel) lacked of any blood stains, therefore Conan deduced that it was "planted" in the scene to make it look like Takeshi was the killer.

His theory: Upon learning that the entire inheritance was to be passed on to Natsue only, and not wanting to be cut off, Tatsuo released Takeshi and offered to help prove his innocence in return for a considerable share of the inheritance, and Takeshi, on the pretence of wanting to negotiate with him further, lured Tatsuo to the boat deck where he attacked him there. This is not depicted in the anime.

The Detective Boys are commissioned by a classmate to find his missing cat, Akira. When they do finally find Akira, the cat has just emerged from a house's window, covered in blood. The Detective Boys immediately investigate, and see a bloody corpse face-down in the house's bathtub.

Between when the kids saw the body and the police arrived, he cleaned the body and set it up in the room as if it were watching TV, then answered the door ''as'' his brother. After establishing the presence of Kazuyoshi, he went into the bedroom with corpse and climbed out into the nearby culvert using the tree, sneaking around to re-enter the house as himself. The TV that Kazuyoshi appeared to turn off at Tomofumi's request was set to turn off by timer, rather than remote, and Kazuyoshi's voice was simulated by Tomofumi's voice on the phone's answering machine, which Tomofumi dialed using the cell phone hidden in his pocket.

Kazuyoshi had been blackmailing Tomofumi to let him freeload there forever and be given more and more money whenever he wanted, or else he would reveal that Tomofumi had been illegally trading stocks. The culprit is '''Hitomi Sasaki'''. She has marks on her hands and the marks were made when she tried to force the fishing line off the star, she must have panicked. After the murder, Kogoro Mouri ordered everyone to stay put, and the fishing line used in the murder should be still in her pocket. Hitomi confesses that Yuuichi broke up with her to be with Shoko, but she already accepted his decision. However, Shoko broke up with Yuuichi and says that Yuuichi is boring and airheaded, that she will give him back to Hitomi and laughed in a haughty manner. That is why Hitomi killed Shoko because she couldn't forgive her for the fact that she wasn't serious about the relationship and that Shoko just wanted to take Yuuichi from her.

'''Teruhiko Kasuga''' is the culprit of the attempted murder. He only married Shinobu under orders from his father to marry a girl from a rich family or face being cut off. Wanting to return to his playboy lifestyle, he decided to kill his fiancee and make it look like an accident by leaving her unconscious in the cave so that she would drown by the rising tide. Conan and the detective kids find her and they escape by traveling deeper into the cave where the water tides carry them out of another hole into a tide pool, where Kogoro and Kasuga are there fishing.

Kasuga immediately takes Ayumi hostage and threatens to kill everyone present, but Ran and an old guard arrive in time to save them. Kasuga is immediately subdued and arrested, while Kogoro recieves a stern lecture from the old guard for fishing in the tide pool, which is off-limits.
