=== Situation ===
A woman, Fumie Ozawa, is found dead in her bathroom around 9 am, having appeared to have committed suicide by hanging her self with a thin wire, by her friend Etsuko Aikawa who claims it was murder.

The medical examiner puts the time of death between 6 and 8 pm the previous night. Mouri investigates the scene and sees that she schedules a dentist appointment for the same day of her "suicide". Conan finds a powdered substance, sneaks away with a sample, and when asking a store clerk of it, she says it is katakuri starch- a thickner with sugar properties. When looking in to Ozawa's company financials, the police find a 30 million yen deficit that they believed she embezzled and her superior/boyfriend, Ryota Shimizu, who was off the same day she died and received an e-mail from Ozawa at 5:45 pm yesterday, may have a connection. Aikawa claims she treated Fumie like a surrogate daughter all her life and would do nothing to harm her when the police question her as a suspect. Later, Aikawa's alibi is in question when a delivery man saw her earlier than she stated. She states that she found the body earlier than she did, but after she left money for Ozawa before finding her, and was going to notify the police afterwords.
Shimizu used ice which melted over the course of the day to slowly hang Fumie Ozawa, and that he used her cell phone on vibrate when he called it to send an e-mail to give him an alibi by shaking off a book self above to land on the mouse. His hair is also found on the wire used to kill her. He confesses, revealing that he did it because he didn't want to see her remain in jail for the rest of her life for her embezzling.
The antidote to the APTX 4869 begins to wear off and Shinichi is about to change back to Conan. Ran holds onto him and refuses to let him go but is tranquilized by Haibara and Shinichi is able to become Conan again without anyone noticing. The Detective Boys are on a camping trip when Professor Agasa's car runs out of gas, stranding them in the middle of the mountain. A man named Goki Sudo drives by and refuses to help their situation. Soon after, Sudo drives to his home atop the mountain and an explosion occurs.
As the police interrogates Sudo's fiancé, Ena Ginbayashi, Conan reveals Sudo was not smoking a cigarette and that something else caused the explosion. Due to Ena's inconsistency with her story, Conan deduces the explosion was a planned murder by Ena.
The police ask Ena to come with the station with them so they may ask more questions. She is escorted by Agasa's car where they stop by Agasa's garage to refuel on gas. Agasa trips, spilling the gasoline, and asks Haibara to use the key and open the trunk to his car. She is however stopped by Ena who proclaims an explosion will occur due to a static shock. The garage door opens and the police reveal it was a setup in order to gain a confession from Ena. Conan reveals that the reason Ena was asking Sudou to wear his wool and fleece combination was to build up static electricity. He reveals that since Sudo's classic car did not use a remote keyless system, when Sudo attempted to lock his car with his keys, the static electricity he built up transferred from the key to the car-door's lock resulting in a spark which ignited the vaporized gasoline. Ena reveals that her motive was revenge. In the past her father had a heart attack and her mother, who was unable to drive, could not drive him to the hospital. Sudo, passing by the couple, refuses to drive them to the hospital and instead, laughs at their predicament. Her mother then passed away shortly after due to shock of the incident and Ena swore revenge against Sudo ever since.
===Part 1===
The Detective Boys arrive to find Sudo dead. The police investigate and declare the death as an accident caused by a lit cigarette and spilled gasoline which vaporized in the garage. As the police interrogates Sudo's fiancé, Ena Ginbayashi, Conan reveals Sudo was not smoking a cigarette and that something else caused the explosion. Due to Ena's inconsistency with her story, Conan deduces the explosion was a planned murder by Ena.
