Cute Culprits

Recommended Posts

there's something that really bothers me.

will all those sympathetic murderer cutíes listed below:

chiharu shirakawa

yasuko kawakami

mizuki tachibana

miki kitagawa

juri himuro

miyuki hyuuga

mitsuru higaki

hitomi

mari terehara

noriko imai

natsuki sakai

natsuki koshimizu

and all of the other remorseful cutíes will get a punishment reduced, 5 years for example.

because a crazy friend of mine and my father said that when someone in japan commits a crime, remorseful or not will get executed immediately. ¡¡¡ and that ain't true, and i know it !!!

i'm saying that because i hope in the future those cutíes will be better persons, because i like them.

Please, put the names under spoiler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sympathetic to remorseful murderers too, most of the victims in the series are scumbags, but I don't want to know their identities beforehand, in case I haven't seen the episode. :)

Samuel-Johnson-what-is-this-I-dont-even.

There's more to a person than their looks you know...  And their gender.........  These are all one-case only characters that aren't coming back.  If you're going to get this attached to a "cute" 2D girl, you might as well make sure she's a recurring character.

Also, I think this kind of dedication is cool. To go through all the murderers, find the ones you find kinda cute. . .that's some effort. If there was a clapping emoji I would definitely utilize it right now. It kind of makes me want to go through the list and just understand what 38 is talking about, you know, instead of being a bit narcissistic and (everything beyond this point is passive aggressive so  sorry )

I know in my heart that they're not evil in nature, they're anti-villains, and i love more anti-villains than complete monsters.

because those cutíes will be completely redeemed when their punishment is over, and become completely reformed.

besides i love chiharu shirakawa and juri himuro, because they're victims of a sad misunderstanding, and they're not evil in nature, and they don't WANT to be evil anymore.

so please have pity on them, because they're genuinelly sorry for their crimes!!!

I agree completely, almost all culprits in DC are basically good people who were brought to crime by despair and the impunity of the real villains who later play the role of the "victims". Murder may be wrong, but they kill one evil person, while the victims just spread evil ariund them and ruin many lives, often even kill innocents. In my opinion, there is absolutely no need to be harsh on them like Conan is. They are going to jail and he should be satisfied with that. When he is not and starts crushing them morally with his hypocritical robotic preachings, he doesn't seem like a "good guy" at all. Where was his "justice" when the "victims" wreaked havoc with impunity?

I don't know about you, but these people should have enough common sense to realize that murdering people is never the answer. Never.

Self-defense is a different story, but we're talking about people who do it just to experience the satisfaction of being purged from some petty history they had with the victim.

Yeah, I agree that Conan's "preachings" gets repetitive--even a bit arrogant and distasteful a times--though never hypocritical.

Yeah, I also sympathize with the murderers at times, but these people have lost all self-control and resorted to murder to resolve their problems. They need a step back into reality--what exactly are they accomplishing from killing someone? For their own peace of mind? What about the victim's family and friends? It's plain selfish.

You can't just concoct some elaborate murder plan without having solid intentions. In other words, these people knew exactly what they were doing, these people knew the consequences, and knowing so means that these people were prepared to face whatever punishment awaited them if they were to be found out.

You can't justify murder. It's flat out wrong--no matter how much the murderer has been victimized.

I understand, but I feel too sorry for all of them, I can't help it. And in many cases they have nothing to lose (the family has been killed for example) so they at least take revenge. If Conan at least criticized the crimes of the "victims" too, he wouldn't seem so hypocritical to me. Instead, they get a pass. Why? Just because they're dead?

it's rather repetitive to have Conan state what the victim did wrong since it's assumed that the audience already knows the degree of atrocity of the victim's actions, lol

A lot of male criminals in DC are just like those "cuties", so why should we pity the women exclusively and not the men as well?

Reading this topic reminds me of the moronic facebook posts made by some girls who thought the Boston Bomber brothers were innocent because one of them was cute. Yes, that was a thing. Justice is blind for a good reason.

I find Shinichi and Ran idealistic when it comes to their principles about murder. One way to look at ethics is to measure how much someone values sticking to good principles versus good outcomes. A principle-driven person would not support bad means even if it led to a very good end, while an outcome-driven person would be upset when good principles prevented good ends. Shinichi and Ran are both very principled, and that works well in places like Japan which is attentive to crime.

It is hard to be principled in places that are unfair. For instance, there have been lots of cases in India where repeat rapists and killers who kept getting away because of connections or threats were then killed by mobs. (Akku Yadav was a famous one.) Is it worth standing by your principle not to murder when a rapist will keep attacking the women and children in your community with no hope of justice? That's the sort of decisions some people have to face. Even though I live in a nice country, I can recognize adherence to principles is a luxury rather than universal law that will work well for everyone. That's why I think that Shinichi and Ran are idealistic - they are inexperienced when it comes to struggles others have to face in unfair places.

Mostly I hate it when Gosho tries to say one side of the ethics measure I mentioned above is the right one. There was a moment of really strong  values dissonance in the fandom when Sera tried to get that hostage taker shot in Mouri agency hostage case but Ran stopped her because she didn't want him to be killed. Gosho made it seem like Sera was worse than Ran for trying to put a good outcome ahead of good principles. I don't like that sort of simplistic thinking about ethics. Both sides have their merits.

That's a great post, but I would like to disagree on 2 things:

1) The Boston bombers aren't like the culprits in DC, they killed innocents and the DC culprits kill really, really evil and dangerous people in most cases (whether it's justified or not is a different question)

2) Even though Japan has a low rate of "normal" crime, they allow the Yakuza to be legal and we all know the Yakuza deal in child pornography among other things. Not even Chapo Guzman in Mexico or Sergei Mikhailov in Russia can form a political party or a company openly called "Sinaloa cartel" or "Solntsevskaya bratva", while the Yakuza openly write the names of their syndicates like "Yamaguchi-gumi" on their office doors. There is no law like RICO, and it's not even considered a social disgrace to be a member of the Yakuza.

i really hope they don't murder anyone again, because the tears they're sheeding are TEARS OF REMORSE.

just like tv tropes said they feel the MY GOD, WHAT HAVE I DONE?

because i think japan has a very low crime rate because almost all the criminals are in middle of redemption in jail during their punishment.

and i hope when they're released they will be different persons to regain respect and sympathy.

because one day i stoled 50 € from my brother to buy a videogame, but when they noticed that the person who stoled this bill was me, i felled in sorrow and regret and i never did it again, and i vowed to never ever steal things from other persons, my dad was so angry that he punished me without playing at the computer for one week.

so that's the reason why i feel sorry for those remorseful cutíes, because i know in my heart that they'll never ever murder anyone again.

The Yakuza have gone downhill in Japan the last decade+. They are much less accepted now than they were.

... Your thinking seems out of whack. Your sureness they will repent just because they are beautiful makes no sense because beauty has nothing to do with goodness. The world isn't a Disney movie where ugly people are bad and pretty ones are good.

I think you are thinking too much with the "lower brain" instead of the one in your head.

I re-read 38cutie's post several times, it doesn't state they won't kill just because they are beautiful. He/she only says they have repented and he/she is sure they won't kill again because they shed tears of remorse. The only thing pertaining to their physical appearance is that 38cutie defines them as "cuties" but he/she doesn't state that's the reason that guarantees they won't kill again.

I got that much, but I am objecting to the focus on only the cute women (and not specific ones) rather than all the culprits who cried tears of remorse generally. Specific cute women might be genuinely remorseful and unlikely to commit crimes again, but there are a few like the one who framed Shiratori who were completely unrepentant despite the tears.

Maybe chiharu shirakawa, juri himuro, hitomi and miki kitagawa are murderers, but they're not complete monsters, if they were, they should never have my sympathy.

that's the reason why i love them, because in the future when they'll be released from prison, they will be completely redeemed.

please have sympathy on them! ¡¡PLEASE!!

BECAUSE I DO!!

because i have printed screenshots of them and i put them on my night table every night, and i wanted to give them a hug to light'em up.

and i cried tears and snot every time i watch the episodes they appear.

after all they're anti-villains and i love anti-villains even if i don't aprove their methods to get their goals.

and i have a heart of gold.

there's no need to be harsh on them because those maidens are victims of a sad misunderstanding, ¡AND THEY'RE NOT EVIL IN NATURE! i'm closed to be like belle (the protagonist of The Beauty And The Beast) because i know they where in the wrong way, but they're not completely evil. and inside them there's a Little sparkle of light, a light called remorse and regret.

and they deserve a punishment of 5 years in prison or 7 depending the number of murders they commited in their episode, because acording to Wikipedia japan has a pretty lenient way in sentencing and remorse is seen as a mitigating factor wich tends to bring reduced sentences.

i hope you can understand it.

those cutíes i mentioned are anti-villains not heartless monsters.

don't be too harsh with them, i know they commited a murder or two, but they're is no need to be so idiot, they were just misguided. And what's wrong of light'em up?!!

i think in the japanese prisons a psychologist should be hired, to make the sympathetic murderers to be better persons in the future.

and death penalty or life inprisonment would be too harsh and unfair for them.

¡¡¡AND THAT'S NOT BEING FREAAAAK!!!!

IF THEY WERE COMPLETE MONSTERS I WOULD HATE THEM INSTEAD OF LOVE THEM!!!!

just like agasa said in the 8th movie to the culprit "you're still Young, and you have a lot of future to go"

they maybe criminals, but they're not dangerous freaks and fucking assholes.

¡¡¡HAVE A LITTLE RESPECT ON THOSE FOUR CUTIES: CHIHARU, HITOMI, MIKI AND JURI, THEY WERE MISUNDERSTOOD!!!

all those remorseful cutíes are in the gray and grey morality trope

some consider them as evil persons, while others consider them as some kind of scapegoats or fighting for the right thing (even if we don't aprove their methods)

and i think they'll be redeemed murderers.

i hope you can understand this.

'cause i love them.

and... ¿who knows, they'll be changed persons?
