There's always something else fishy going on in the BO. Up til now, they have not revealed what are the motives of the BO and even shinichi has not found anything that hints what they could be up to. But I'm sure vermouth's youth could be the first main hint to that.

Nope, I went through the thread and looked at people's serious suggestions, then went back over to DCTP and checked there too to come up with options. Someone seriously suggested she was undead at one point. Same goes with the clone and brain transplant.

Don't call me crazy but I chose the "undead" possibility. Though it hasn't been made clear, but the woman with the "cat issue" might be Vermouth. If I'm not mistaken, then she said something like: "We can be both God and The Devil, since we're trying to raise the dead against the stream of time..." Although she might be talking about the BO's goal, I highly think that she was also complaining about her own situation.

If Vermouth really took APTX4869, somehow I got the feeling that her drug was much more "advanced" than the version which Shinichi and Shiho took.

Maybe she was accidentally infected with some form of radiation, which mutated her cells to change and die slower.

Even assuming extreme training (it would have to be, even for a young person), how could someone with a fifty year old woman's body suddenly vault up over a handrail from a dead hanging position while shot in the side? - which is what happened in the NYC arc. A 20 or 30 year old's body I could understand, but 50? Now if Vermouth was age-locked into a 20 to 30 year old's body which means she keeps her youthful strength...

Not to die slower but to regenerate themselves. Stopping the aging process means that the cells are no longer dying. Cellular regeneration.
