Movie 16, "The Eleventh Striker"

Recommended Posts

The DCTP translation of the the trailer came out, and it seems my rough translation was quite rough. Apparently Kogoro said, "If we don't solve the code, another victim will surface!" Judging from this and this only, probably a person dies every 30 minutes or so until the code is solved/the bombs blow. But another less likely option is the culprit leaves an impossible riddle for Kogoro (and Conan, but the culprit doesn't know that) to solve, and offers hints and clue to solve it. The twist is, for every hint the culprit reveals, someone dies. If this is the case, I think this will be the first time ever Conan/Shinichi sacrifices the life of anyone, culprit or victim, intentionally. Unfortunately, I doubt Gosho would do that so I'm leaning toward my first theory. But unless something along the lines of my second theory happens, this movie will probably be a disappointment.

thanks for the info :D

Because I have nothing better to do, I'm going to interpret each scene from the trailer one by one.

(note: these are scenes from the long 50 second trailer, not the short 33 second trailer)

Scene 1: Shows large building with parked cars. It is late at night.

Analysis: Pretty simple, just the soccer stadium. None of the cars seem to be of any importance and the yellow leaves on the trees suggest a fall time event. Perfect, just in time for DCTP subs next year!

Scene 2: Quick flash of stadium lights, then a quick diagonal downward left pan.

Analysis: None needed. The players are just walking around (time out maybe?) and the score is 0-0.

Scene 3: Player kicks ball, slow-mo effect.

Analysis: None needed.

Scene 4: Higo dribbles the ball with some fancy footwork.

Analysis: None needed.

Scene 5: Akagi and Higo fight for control of the ball.

Analysis: None needed.

Scene 6: Bird's eye view of the match.

Analysis: None needed.

Scene 7: Higo trips up Tokyo Spirits player.

Analysis: None needed.

Scene 8: Quick scene of fans and crowd.

Analysis: None needed. The night sky can be seen.

Scene 9: Conan says, "Nice play!" and jumps up excited. Haibara gives him her narrow-eyed amused look.

Analysis: Hiabara has on a Tokyo Spirits cap. Might be noteworthy.

Scene 10: Detective Boys excited about the game. Genta is eating (couldn't help but point that out).

Analysis: None needed.

Scene 11: Conan boots up skateboard, goes up a ramp, flips it in the air, and starts defying gravity going up a pole.

Analysis: ... Woah... Well, other than the impossible skateboard stunt, it is noteworthy to mention this takes place during the day, when all other scenes were clearly at night.

Scene 12: Kogoro, Sato, Megure, and Takagi are at the detective agency.

Analysis: Nothing much, other than the fact that this also appears to take place during the day.

Scene 13: Conan gasps as he notices something with his telescopic glasses.

Analysis: Simple enough, takes place during the day.

Scene 14: With the telescopic glasses POV, there is a quick zoom in on a bomb.

Analysis: When paused or slowed down, the bomb can be clearly seen attached to the bottom corner of the the back of the score board.

Scene 15: Blurry scene of dark shadow person standing in tunnel with his body silhouetted against the bright lights of the stadium.

Analysis: None needed.

Scene 16: Shadow person says, "Time's up."

Analysis: None needed.

Scene 17: With slow-mo effect, Akagi kicks the ball high toward the goal.

Analysis: It may be noteworthy to mention the score is still 0-0.

Scene 18: Conan says, "What?!"

Analysis: No one else is in the stands. Definitely an outtake.

Scene 19: Camera zooms in to the Big Osaka goal.

Analysis: Camera appears to take the place of the soccer ball in this scene.

Scene 20: "Detective Conan: The Eleventh Striker"

Analysis: Just the title screen.

Scene 21: Really really quick scene of crowd before fading into a scene of Sonoko excitedly talking to Ran. Ran then smiles. Conan says, "Run away... Ran!"

Analysis: Just to make it apparent that Ran will be in danger again (though that's usually assumed anyway).

And that's all folks!

Wow. Incredible analysis!
