As much as I love Case Closed, we've already received official word that they're not going to do any more of the series. So no. No more series. There's no way they could justify it. It's a drama that's tough to market to American audiences and is over 500 episodes long -- that's way too risky. They've already put way more money into the series than they probably should have (even though it's very appreciated).
The only thing we could possibly hope for are the rest of the movies/specials (ie Conan vs Lupin III), but even then..
"We're still open to getting more movies, but nothing is in the works."
Nothing is in the works. Which breaks my heart, but there you go. I have vain hope that they'll release sub-only box sets in the future like they did with Super Gals, but I'm not holding my breath.

having not gotten around to the series yet, I had to ask whether I should be flattered or offended by my assignment... and a reliable source has told me I should be offended, and explained the character to me
as such, I agree with my friend, and am kind of offended... and request to know why that particular choice was made (because it seems you have a distorted view of me)

There are actual plots. This show is very, very different than the old ones. There's a reason why it has SO MANY FANS now.

Probably because they watch the show.
It's all on youtube and very worth checking out. The animation and character designs are gorgeous and the writing is brilliant. They specifically made the show so that adults could enjoy watching it with their kids, so there's something for pretty much anyone if you can get past the pilot.Try watching 'Suited for Success' or 'Dragonshy' - those are both very good episodes!

I loved Reiko and the soundtrack for movie 12, but otherwise HATED it. The first half to 11 was good but the second half? Meh at best.
I think I need to watch the first six in Japanese to really appreciate them, but I have to admit that of all the movies, the one I don't really want to see again is movie 6. I know, BLASPHEMY RIGHT?!? But I have a bias against 'going into video game!11' plots in the first place. Ugh.

OVA 2 without question.
It somehow manages to give the large cast of great characters each their own little moment, despite being so short. Really phenomenal, character-driven storytelling. This is the kind of thing that I could talk about FOREVER and write thesis papers about. ;_; <3

My favorite movie is #1. There was nothing in it that I didn't like. All in all, totally solid. Lots of good little romantic moments, Conan getting hurt, drama and suspense, good mystery... so very cool.
All of the others have really good PARTS, but each had their own level of confusion or ridiculousity that left me shaking my head. Not that I didn't enjoy them; I've seen ALL of them a million times, but... you know what I mean.

I would be someone who'd freak out about threatening letters and call Kogoro to come help solve who is stalking me... and then I would TOTALLY be murdered on their watch.
There'd be a lot of blood, I'm sure, and then everyone would know that my paranoia is COMPLETELY founded.I'd only be in one episode but hey! Maybe if I was lucky, it'd be a two-parter. oOOoo.
