  1. Oh my god why did I post this here?

I was looking at the soliloquy thread and didn’t understand why the latest one wasn’t posted, when I was sure I did.

Actually when I first saw that I wanted to ask that but no one said anything about it so I didn't either lol.

  2. This is interesting. Since it's artificial, I don't think it's really obvious but at the same time there would be a difference from the normal. In this case, the closing of the eyes while talking. It would also be interesting to see Heiji's father (yes, I want to emphasize it) to be a member of BO. He is influential and a member of the chief of police. If in the next series Heiji and his father would be there, I will definitely insist that he is RUM for 2 reasons. 1. It makes sense. 2. It adds another dimension to the plot

Here are my thoughts about RUM (with the help of the ideas of the posts here too)

    1. Heizo Hattori is Rum.

    2. Kansuke is not RUM because of the reasons stated here.

    3. Kuroda is the "higher" officer of Rei Furuya in the Secret Police because

         a. He is old.

         b. He is introduced after the Scarlet series.

         c. He was in comatose for 10 years. I don't think a second-in-command for BO would be someone coming from a comatose but it is feasible to have a  "higher officer" coming from a comatose.

    4. His mission is to identify (and eliminate) the rats in the organization and it is interesting to see that he is also a "rat" in the Police department. A high-ranked rat in particular

    5. Unlike Kir and Boubon, he is loyal to the BO.

    6. Rum might actually be Kuroda, not an officer in SP. Based on the spoilers I see for the next chapter, Ai is hiding behind Conan when Conan was approached by Kuroda - hinting that she smells the BO aura in him.

ps. Im happy to see that many are also pissed? that there are too many unloyal BO members being introduced. (Almost half of the BO members are/were not really loyal... Bourbon, Kir, Rye, Scotch, Ethan Hondou, Miyano sisters, and even Vermouth)

I don't think Kuroda is RUM for many reasons as I stated in my post, but not only that, according to Gosho, RUM has already appeared, and that was said before chapter 906, which is before Kuroda's introduction, that still doesn't 100% denies him of being RUM though, I also don't think it's Heizo is RUM, because the characteristics of RUM don't appear, he is also too young to be the 2nd in command in my opinion, and he also opens his eye sometimes, so the argument is not really strong, as for Haibara hiding behind Conan, I refuse to believe that it is her BO sense until she says that she feels it from him.

And yeah, having a lot of non-loyal members/rats in the BO makes it seem less dangerous.

  3. 1. She is Masumi's mother

    2. She is a victim of APTX

    3. She is a girl (She!)

That are my answers in the poll. I want to elaborate it

    1. Judging from her face, I think it's pretty obvious that they are relatives. I also know that Akai and Masumi have the same features as their mother (with the 2nd brother to the father). She seems to be the one who is giving pointers to Masumi not the other way around (well, typically the older one should be the one doing it). That also shifts me to the second point that she is a victime of the drug

    2. She is something like 14 y.o. as oppose to Conan's and Haibara's age (6/7 y.o.). It shows that she is much older than the 2 mentioned and it is highly possible that she has indeed the age of a mother (my guess is around 50). Of course it is not really a direct minus 10 years old from your current age but I think you get my point. Shinich is 16 and Miyano is 18 so yeah.

    3. I think Gosho won't be that dumb to put a confusion in that girl's gender. I mean, he is a girl as you can see. That 2nd brother just confuses most of you but it does not make sense to force a girl to be a boy just to make a theory feasible.

Masumi seems to know that Conan is Shinichi. Masumi (and probably Akai) already met Shinichi and Ran before (probably in NY) for unknown reason. Yukiko seems to have a good relationship with Akai (based on the Subaru diguise) so I think that makes sense. However, Yusaku said in Scarlet series that he never met Akai so that's still bothering me. What's outside the picture is the parents of Akai and Sera. I think that's where the mysterious girl comes in.

The mysterious girl still don't trust Conan maybe because she is yet to see Conan in person and she needs to trust him because he shares the same situation as her - drunk aptx. Sera already trusts Conan because 1. She is already with him in many cases 2. His middle brother (probably Haneda) trusts him

The wizard is Conan. I don't know what the wizard means though

ps. What's boggling me is Haneda's (the most possible middle brother of Masumi and Akai) age which is 28 and Akai's age which is 27. That's according to wiki of DC. Though I saw somewhere that Akai is already at his 30s. If that's true, then there is no problem since I think formality is the only thing needed to prove that Haneda is the middle brother.

I just want to point out some few things:

It's highly unlikely if not impossible that Ran and Shinichi met Akai and Sera in NY, Sera said that they moved to America only 3 years ago, Ran had a flashback of a very young Sera, that means they met around 10 years ago, so they had to have met in Japan, I also doubt Akai was with her, since he didn't recognize Ran and neither Ran nor Shinichi recognized him when they each saw him for the first time, I would assume the middle brother(Shuukichi) and the mother(unknown child) were with Sera instead, also, Akai's age is still unknown, 27 is the age he was using as Okiya. As for the Wizard, it's probably because of a case that young Shinichi solved or something like that, a case which was like magic.

  4. For me, I think it will be like this: RUM's identity will be discovered halfway through the arc, but he will still remain, just like with Bourbon, but at the end of the arc, he would be captured or something like that, either leading Conan and the FBI to get massive information about the BO or RUM will die without talking, Gin will probably become the 2nd in command in the BO after RUM.

  5. But Uchiha, it looks like you forget that right after that Sera looked up and said "Who's there?" while looking up and out through the small right side gap of the door because she thought she saw someone through that gap. After brushing it off, we see Vermouth in the Scar Akai disguise just a few feet away from the room. That means that Sera had spotted Vermouth in disguise through the gap at the same time Sera was staring down Ai. Which also means that's what was triggering Ai's BO sense. It was Vermouth in disguise behind the door.

But wouldn't Haibara look behind to see where the BO sense came from? I believe she knows where the BO sense comes from since she looked behind when she sensed Amuro, I don't see why she would just stay focused on Sera while she senses something from behind.

  6. She wasn't just scared of Sera when they met for the first time, that was her B.O. sense kicking in (it was probably because of Vermouth spying on them, but it was still the B.O. sense)

I don't know about that, it looked to me like she was just scared, because of what she thought: "This person....... could it be...." she said that while Sera was staring closely at her, it didn't seem like some other thing caused that, well at least that's just what it looks to me, anyway that doesn't even seem to be her BO sense with Kuroda.

  7. yeah it's too soon to make theories without any solid clues, let's wait for Gosho to reveal more about the Akai family.I hope it won't be disappointing.

However I'm surprised Conan doesn't seem to care about the Mystery girl anymore, while he was curious about her when he saw her.I wonder if he talked to Shuichi,or something like that.

Well, I still think Conan doesn't know for certain that Sera is Akai's sister, he probably thinks about it but I don't think he's sure about it yet, so he probably won't ask Akai about it, but to answer your question I guess there are 2 possibilities:

    1) Maybe it's because of RUM, I mean RUM is way more important than the unknown child, so he's probably focusing on that for now.

    2) Typical Conan, he already knows about it all and is waiting for the chance to reveal it.

  8. Are you certain what you read was the interview translation itself and not someone's speculation (which can also be found here and there in the interview thread)? Because I haven't found a source where Gosho claimed that Masumi's mother is the sister either.

For reference, the interview where Gosho denied Yukiko being the sister comes from SDB70+, question no. 67 specifically. Here's the translation of it. You can see the Raw version of said Q&A here. There is no mention of Masumi's mother in either of the answers, so it can neither confirm nor deny the possibility of her being one of the sisters.

Well honestly, it was sometime ago and it's been a while since I read the interviews, so I don't really remember. So it's not far-fetched that I thought it was an interview, but I still think I read it somewhere, maybe the interview isn't on this site?

I really dislike the theory of Elena and Akai's mom being sisters...Nothing in the story implied that Elena had a sister,so it would just come out of nowhere.

If Elena had a sister, she would have had some photos of her,and probably Akemi would know that, and maybe Elena would have told that to Shiho in her tapes.Same thing for Akai's mom,I doubt she would hide she has a sister to Shuichi (considering Shuichi was close to Akemi and Shiho,he probably saw Elena in a photo or something like that, and he would make the connection quickly,).

Concerning Sera having British habits,it could be because of James' influence on her(he's british too),assuming he's the friend who helps her.

I really don't want to make theories about the two sisters thing, mostly because we have no real clues, evidences to make a good theory. But i agree about the theory of Mystery girl being Sera's mom and Shukichi the middle Brother.

I won't argue about the 2 sisters thing, but Sera being British is more likely than her having British habits from James, because Sera didn't live with James, she came to Japan not too long ago, before that she was in America for the past 3 years, so it's very unlikely she'd get British habits from James in that small period of time, besides, Sera says 'football' instead of 'soccer', football is British, while soccer is American.

  9. I totally agree with you on the unknown child and I will even ad an argument for you. If you look at the unknown child's clothes you can see that she's wearing a kind of a striking turtleneck (I'm not sure about the file). It's pure English style maybe old but still it's english.

And to get back to Amuro (I won't let go on this one XD), in the mystery train's file and even in Scarlet Showdown he's wearing an English coat from Victorian. Only in big confrontations between Conan and the Organization. All those families have a connection with England. Slights arguments to but I think it's Gosho style.

And I just forgot something about Kuroda. He's only drinking black tea. Tea is part of English traditions. It could be a false trail intentionally set by Gosho but I have my doubts.

Lol, I still don't know about Amuro being blood-related to the Akai family and the Miyanos, but he's clearly related to Elena in some way, and yeah I know about the small hints of him being British, Kuroda drinking black tea sure doesn't sound like something big now, but later on when we progress through the arc, I have a feeling it will be important when added to other things.

  10. I don;t remember him specifically stating that Masumi's mother was one of the two women. Can you site your source for this? I only remember him saying that Yukiko was not one of them (to debunk the idea that Yukiko and Chikage were sisters to explain why Shinichi and Kaito look similar). At the time the original "Sisters" interview took place, we would have only had like 1 or 2 appearances of the Mystery Girl and there would have been no way to definitively say that she was Masumi's mother. Technically there is still not 100% proof that the Mystery Girl is Masumi's mother, we only have strong evidence that they are biologically related and that it is highly likely that the Mystery Girl could have shrank. As for Haibara, the only thing connecting her to the Mystery Girl is something from Sherry's Soliquies, which are not part of the manga cannon. As far as I can remember, this similarity between them has not been mentioned in the series itself.

Plus, at this point, the sisters thing is really hard to place since there has really been no reason in series to say that any two characters are sisters. We only know about this because he said something in an interview. Had he not said that, a lot of the conversations about sisters would have never taken place and would be considered "crack theories".

I'm pretty sure I read the fact that Masumi's mother was one of the 2 sisters in the translating interviews topic, you should search for it there, but I disagree with you here, there is good evidence that the unknown child is Masumi's mother:

    1) She has Masumi's eyes, the mother passed her looks to Masumi and Shuichi.

    2) She was very happy when Shukichi won the Shogi titles. Shukichi is most likely the middle brother so she would be happy since he's her son.

    3) Ran said that she met with the unknown child somewhere, since she met Masumi in the past, it's safe to assume she met them together, we can see that Masumi was very young, around 7 years old, that means that it took place around 10 years ago, the unknown child would've been too young to be recognized by Ran, which suggests she was shrunken, that means she was an adult when she met Ran, and the only one who makes perfect sense of being with Masumi when she met Ran 10 years ago is her mother.

    4) Masumi talks about her mother in a past tense, she says her mother had big breasts, which suggests she doesn't have them anymore, that mean she shrunk, furthermore, Masumi talks to Ran about her mother like Ran knows her, which means she thinks Ran knows her mother, all the pieces fit together now.

I don't know about you but for me it's clear as day that the unknown child is Masumi's mother.

Now we get to her being Haibara's aunt, there is more than one hint, it's not just the interview, these hints are:

    1) There are multiple hints that Masumi is British, there also hints that the unknown child is British, assuming she's the mother, that means the mother is British, Elena is also British, so it fits, for the hints for them being British, there is a whole topic about it on DCTP.

    2) The fact that we never saw Elena's eyes, maybe the look like Shuichi's eyes, although that is just a small speculation.

    3) Haibara said that the child resembles her in Sherry's Soliloquy, Gosho said that he talks through Haibara, so that means it's Gosho's words.

I know they are slight hints, but they should serve as a good argument all together.

  11. Seriously? I'm so surprised no one mentioned Berserk, out of the ones I've read it's my favorite, and it's probably the best since I just can't see anything surpassing that level, everyone should read it, it's the best thing that happened to manga.

It has amazing art, heck amazing can't describe it, each panel gives a different feeling, it has the most badass character ever: Guts, it's also very very dark though, it has a story that words cannot describe how good it is, and when you read volume 13, your mind would be blown to pieces, it's my favorite manga because of it, the character development is just mind blowing, even side characters that only appear in one arc get more development than most other main characters in other manga, Guts is also probably the most complicated character I've ever seen. If you haven't read Berserk, your missing a lot.

Anyway besides Berserk I'd say Hunter X Hunter, but the art is not that good when it comes to scans online.

  12. One problem with this theory. Dont forget that Haibara's sister and Akai were romantically involved. If they were cousins it would be a bit creepy from Gosho I think.

In my opinion Amuro could be related with Akai's family but it just my opinion. What's sure it is that the Miyano, Amuro and Akai's family are connected. How I don't exactly know yet but there is something to investigate here certainly implicating Rum also. It's just what I think.

In some countries(like mine) it's normal for cousins to get married, the only problem I see in it is the fact that they didn't know about it, which could possibly be explained by the fact that the 2 families got separated before Akemi was born, since the Miyanos started working for the BO 30 years ago, that's before Akemi's birth, so they might've never known about being cousins.

  13. I first watched Detective Conan on TV, I watched it there until episode 332(it was dubbed until that episode at that time, now I think they're in the 370s), but after a while I forgot about it and began watching other anime, then last year, I saw a video that talks about top 5 mystery anime, one of them was Detective Conan, it was episode 538 so I got interested again and I thought it's about time I catch up, so I started watching it then continued to read the manga.
