Watched Doukyuusei like a month ago, and I think I enjoyed it for the most part, but aside from it being very pleasant visually/aesthetically, I wouldn't say it's anything more than an o-k way to spend an hour. There's both considerably worse and better things out there to watch instead, it's simply satisfactory imo.

I came for the sci-fi dystopia action flick by Polygon Pictures, stayed for the robo waifus. Also made me binge the manga so that's something.
By 'robo waifus' do you mean robo waifus, or robo waifus?

I couldn't find what I was originally looking for so this'll have to do

I heard about that! A while ago I saw a rumor floating around that the OVA was a 'test' to see if there was any interest in a full series eventually being animated. When I tried looking into it I couldn't find anything, but considering an additional project was announced, maybe there was some truth to it..? Regardless, it's still exciting news c:
And I noticed you were watching LoGH a few weeks ago; did you like it?
does it live up to the hype? -
citypop's pretty neato tbh

@Akazora do you have any thoughts on Ultra Sun and Moon yet?

OMM: I want to learn how to code (Python specifically) as a hobby since it sounds neat,
and unlike some other hobbies, doesn't take up any physical spacebut nearly everything I can find is like "So you want more job opportunities/want to get into app development..." It's considerably more difficult to try and find resources intended for people as directionless as I amAnd unrelated but: is anyone here into tabletop gaming? I've been curious about it for a couple of years now, but I want to hear about other people's experiences with it before I start seriously considering anything

OMM 1:
my summer can be summarized as Dark Souls, Stardew Valley, the first 4 seasons of Rupaul's Drag Race, and podcasts
I'd say it was time well spentOMM 2: tfw Sonic Mania looks really fun but you don't have a Switch, PS4, or XB1

if not already sold out, those glasses were either on the other side of the world or being sold at a ludicrous priceYeah it's surprisingly hard to track down those things. No stores are carrying them where I live, and while one of the local libraries ordered like 2000 pairs, they aren't going to be handing out any of them out since they're not sure if they bought ones that are protective enough. At least it's easy to find tutorials on how to make your own eclipse viewer :/

srry for the double postMy favorite yuri manga got a little 5min OVA-like thing 2-ish months ago! It's called Kase-san and Morning Glories and it's on Youtube (there's no voice acting so you can watch it without subs) It's basically just a collage of certain scenes from several different chapters in the manga, so don't expect anything other than shallow fluff with zero context, but it's very nice fluff nonetheless imo
And the first
commercialepisode of Gundam Twilight Axis came out not too long ago and I;m real salty about it. . . . .. . . .. . -
Started reading Devilman.
I've only read the first volume, so I don't really have an opinion of it yet, but it's hilarious sometimes, even though it's not trying to be.

After beating P5, I wanted to try out some other SMT games, and I decided to start with the first Raidou Kuzunoha game and SMT IV.
RK1's a ps2 game and feels very... clunky, but I'm actually really digging it so far. It's set in 1930s Japan, the music's really unique, and the gameplay is just really interesting. For one, it's not turn based, and your captured demons don't just fight alongside you in combat, you utilize them while doing detective work around town too.And for a game in a spinoff series called Devil Summoner, RK's surprisingly quirky . Some of the demons are just downright adorable too. You capture enemies to have them aid you in battles and the objects you house them in are these almost syringe-like tubes, and when I caught a Mokoi, the little guy exclaimed: "I've been on 6 or 7 diets lately, I should have no problem fitting in there!"
Also Raidou's got some impressively lethal sideburns
Meanwhile SMT IV was really freaking hard and I died an embarrassing number of times. (I somehow ended up really over leveled towards the end though. Apparently most people beat the game between lvl 75-lvl 80, but I beat the game at lvl 91whoops)
There's multiple endings that are based on the morality alignments, and your actions over the course of the game determine whether you get the lawful, chaotic, or neutral ending (with neutral being the hardest ending to achieve). The three main characters are Jonathan (law), Walter (chaos), and Isabeau (neutral), and while they do have some character traits, they're less so meant to be characters of their own, and more so just supposed to be the human manifestations of their morality alignmentsso they're kind of boring
Despite siding with Walter, I still got the law ending, and to put it bluntly, I did not like the law ending. Neither extreme is particularly great, but I find the mentality that comes with the law ending to be the worse of the two/three since it's kind of hypocritical and very literally holier-than-thou, whereas, as far as I know (I haven't played the chaos route yet), the chaos mentality is just grossly over simplified. (Chaos allows for free will, but is very 'every man for himself/survival of the fittest', whereas Law is peaceful, but very controlled and 'kill those who disagree/don't live up to our standards'. And while I don't for sure know what the Neutral ending entails, it's the ending the sequel, SMT IV: Apocalypse, takes place after, so I'm assuming it's the least terrible of the three)Some things I did like about SMT IV though is that the Tokyo reveal is very cool (even if a bit obvious), some of the relic descriptions are hilarious, the boss battle theme is ridiculously hype, demon negotiations are consistently interesting, and the game's got a good variety of demons (there's over 400 different ones).
tl;dr got the law ending, hated it, but it was alright for the most part otherwise

^For better or worse, I've been lurking sort of regularly for the past few months and just never said anything. Nice to know other users still check in on the place c:
OMM 1:
I beat Persona 5
back in April, but I'm still excited about it! Out of P3, P4, and now P5, P4's still my favorite, but P5 was really enjoyable nonetheless and hands down has the most fun gameplay of the three. And that's not even to mention how great the OST is (The Whims of Fate (6th Palace spoilers) and Price (possible 3rd Palace spoilers) are my probably my favorites, but most of the OST is pretty gr8) or how nice and stylized the game looks in generalI'm just about done with my new game+/2nd playthrough and have things mostly wrapped up. All I have left is the last free week in December and then the final dungeon.
I abused the flu day Reaper trick, so I'm incredibly overleveled, and what I have left should only take maybe 3hrs.
I'm going to have to do a new game++ run to get all the trophies though. I don't really mind since P5's protagonist has yet to grow on me in the way that P3's and P4's protags did, and I've been meaning to try out merciless difficulty too so.......... I might as well play it a 3rd time. . . . . .. .. . not immediately, but maybe in like a month or two.OMM 2: I know I'm the only person who cares, but I got into gunpla a few weeks and it's actually really enjoyable! The two HG 1/144s that I've done so far were just straight out of box builds, but I bought a cheap kit to practice panel lining and maybe basic weathering on and I'm very much looking forward
to fully realizing just how unsteady my hands are when I go to panel lineto having another non-video game thing to sink time intoi'm finaly a reel gandum fan hooorayyyOn 4/29/2017 at 1:51 PM, The Banana Paladin said:Had to unfollow someone because of too many persona spoilers. :3

13 minutes ago, Detective Magic said:Hey, I guess it's not really the best place to ask this, but I don't know where else could I do so. How does the post counter work? I've been browsing the forum and it got me intrested. If it really is a bad place to ask it, then could you tell me where is a right thread?
You're not incorrect in assuming that this probably isn't the most fitting thread to ask this in, but since we don't have a subforum set aside solely for asking question, I'm not really sure where the best place would've been either, so asking this here is probably fine.
The post counter doesn't count posts made in the forum games subforum, but counts posts made anywhere else. I'm not sure if you use other forums, but I've noticed some other anime forums do this as well. It's usually done to deter people from trying to make their post counts bigger by spamming in forum games threads.

happy halloweenhappy last day before the holiday season unofficially begins------------------
OMM: I'm so excited for Animal Crossing Pocket Camp! Though unlikely, I hope they'll allow QR code clothing at some since it was one of my favorite parts of New Leaf. I wonder just how much variety it'll have (Specifically how many of the villagers and how many furniture items will be included in the game). I kinda doubt the game will have much longevity though, since it looks similar to Happy Home Designer in the sense that it's mainly placing furniture around, and no one really cares about HHD anymore...
but nonetheless

A complete beginner pretty much. I've actually already gone a bookmarked a couple video guides, tutorials, and getting started tips that looked helpful, but I had some stuff suddenly come up a couple weeks ago, so haven't properly gone through all of them yet. Though I have some vague ideas of what I want to try to do, I don't really have a goal in mind, so thanks for the tips of stuff to potentially look into. And also thanks for the heads up about competitive programming, I'd not heard of that before and it seems interesting!
Sorry this is short in comparison to what you wrote!
Truth be told, I haven't been keeping up with the USUM news all that much
so I appreciate your response also serving as an infodump.I still don't really have much of an opinion of it though tbh. What's been revealed thus far has been mostly uninteresting/underwhelming imo, but some aspects have been intriguing. Ultra Megalopolis and Team Skull's 'replacement' (not sure if they've been given an official name yet) stood out to me in particular. Po Town's change in weather is interesting too. IIRC, Po Town was really dilapidated in SM, so assuming Team Skull will be entirely cut out, I wonder if Po Town will be an actual settlement in USUM and not just be (mostly) abandoned ruins again.Though not exactly surprisingly since looking back, it appears to be the standard for sequels, I am a bit disappointed the starters appear to be exactly the same. The lack of promotional material featuring the Trial Captains is relatively disappointing as well. Hau, Lillie, Gladion, and Kukui admittedly didn't grow on me very much, so (excluding Kahili) the characters I enjoyed the most were Trial Captains. Maybe they'll make cameos or something though....? And has it been confirmed only some of the empty land will be utilized? The absence of stuff being there seemed very deliberate and it seems like a very obvious waste of potential to just leave them as is.
There's been some new trailers (at least 2 right?) since you replied to my initial post, did those alter your opinion in any way, or are you still just as hyped? Also, are you preordering it? Regardless, which version do you plan on getting? I'm assuming which version of the sequel you get is entirely separate from OG Sun & Moon, but I'm curious if most people will stick to the same version they went with the first time. And to backtrack slightly, what do you think of the Ultra Beasts themselves? (both from SM and USUM) I don't particularly like them as a whole, but due to not keeping up with Pokemon news, have no idea what other people think of them.
ikr irl nerds are liitterrallyy the worst. hanging out with or even just associating with them in public would be social suicide (^:--Joining a college-based tabletop group was actually my plan, but going in entirely blind seems a bit naive. Like I just wanna know what kind of atmosphere to expect, to what extent the 'socially awkward tabletop player' stereotype rings true (I lurk /r/DnD every once in a while, and the last time I did I saw like a PSA post about someone reminding people that if they join a new group, they should ask the group to go over boundaries at the beginning of the game since the OP joined a new group without being told that some of the members used their DnD sessions as a way to RP sexual fantasies, and subsequently had a really negative experience. It didn't even occur to me some people might be drawn to tabletop games for that reason, so I'm curious just how typical that is, and if most people who do play that way at least have the tact/courtesy to be upfront about it.), how beginner-friendly players tend to be, how common non-medieval settings are, and if there's any sort of unspoken, but generally well-understood etiquette I should be aware of
