Hello all, As you may have seen, the wiki has been down for a little while. Due to the captcha system having reached its end of life, I initiated an upgrade of the wiki platform. Things went great until I ran into some complications. I've been fixing them so far. Things should go back to normal sometime tomorrow. I still have a bit of testing to do regarding some of the issues. I'll keep you updated as soon as this is completed. As you may have seen, the site has also been refreshed: https://www.detectiveconanworld.com (the homepage may still change some more in the near future). The back-end has been upgraded as well to use some of the most recent technologies/versions (such as PHP 7, etc...). Thank you for your patience, Maurice

Hi everyone, As you may have seen already, the site's design was refreshed a bit: - We're now using new fonts throughout the site (besides the forum and wiki). - The main site is now responsive (mobile-friendly). - The homepage was revamped. The banner may change in the near future. - There's a new simple template of the Wiki's mobile version. Besides the design, the forum was upgraded to the latest version as well as the wiki (which required that I reworked some of the custom plugins for DCW, hence why it took more time than expected). The reCaptcha plugin was upgraded as well. I hope you like the changes. I apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience, Maurice

Hello! Thank You for visiting here. After a long time thinking, finally I decided to upload my drawings. So, here they are: Conan Edogawa - It is the still from the movie "The Last Wizard Of The Century". Kaitou Kid - I found the Kid's picture on google and decided to give it a try. DC - I took ideas from the manga covers, posters, movie stills, etc. Hope you like them.

The updates are almost over. There are a few minor issues that I need to address. Since it requires a bit of testing (due to the changes that come with the latest version of the Wiki platform), it might take another day or so. Thank you for your patience.

Hello, It went down by mistake. I wasn't even aware of it when it happened. It was an issue related to the domain name (and not the site itself). This was resolved as fast as we could (but there's always a delay with domain name issues unfortunately...). Sorry about that.

Hello. It's because I've been trying to fix some issues and I'm taking this opportunity to make a new update to the platform. I'll keep you posted. Thank you for your patience.

The topic was deleted by error. I was able to restore a backup. It is one of the oldest and biggest/most famous topic on the forum after all. A trip down memory lane and through DCW's history.

Hey guys I've always liked getting on the wiki and reading the episode synopsis' but lately it's been telling me to sign in...so I created this account (like 5 mins ago) and it's still not letting me in?? is there a time limit? Thank you for your help!

Hello everyone, I've been having a problem lately getting into the anime and wiki sections of this website. Every time I try to get to them from here by clicking on the tabs, it says error page not found, as it does whenever I click some of the other tabs. When I try to get directly to the wiki page through a bookmark I have saved, it tells me I need to sign in (even though im always automatically signed in) and I sign in anyway with what im sure is the correct username and password, even trying multiple options and it still tells me the same thing. This is a problem because I rely on the wiki in order to know which episodes are filler and get info on some things prior to watching them and I've been using this website for at least 2 years and this has never happened to me before. Is anyone else having problems like this or is it just me?

Ladies and gentleman, my procrastination level has reached a new peak. I'm downloading old episodes of DCWs Podcast to listen to \o/ Ayy that's great Machine. Working full time is a blessing after barely making ends meet working in retail... though I shouldn't comment on that, I only worked part time for a year before returning to freelancing

Hello and nice to meet you! You can call me Helvig. I started reading Conan sometime around 2006 and followed the series actively until 2013 or so, when I got too busy with studies and life to keep reading. Now after a pause of almost 10 years I've found myself back in this never-ending time-loop of murders and mysteries. I'm currently rereading the series at around volume 30, so there's still a long way to go. I've actually never read past volume 77 (since the scans were almost non-existent at the time) so I'm eagerly waiting for when I'll reach content that is new for me. Not sure how active I'll be on the forum (is the forum even active in general..?), but I'll see if I can do something to help with the wiki. It's such an amazing resource, well done everyone who has contributed!

To me it seems that the younger brother is planning to use the bombs to kill the three men, most likely because he blames them for his brother's death.
  19. 2 points
I'm don't know if the brother killed the manager of the farm. But I do think that he was the one who put him in the bed. The corpse was lying on the bed under a cover with his eyes closed. But since he was strangle and the bed seems to be placed in a corner, I think it's unlikely that he was strangled while lying down in it. The fact that he was placed in bed after his death suggests that someone showed him some last respect. And that would most likely be the younger brother. It's possible that the manager comitted suicide by hanging and his brother found him, got him down and placed him in the bed.

Here's a general guide. Movie 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 all have an "OVA" labeled as "Magic Files" to go before or after each movie. After Magic File 6, Episode 694, 735, and 774 were aired as preludes to the movies that year. They aren't really overly connected, but usually just had a bit of dialogue for the movie at the end of each episode. If the pattern follows, we should see the episode for M20 on April 16th.You could watch almost all the movies regardless of where they "fit in", but if you wanted to watch the movies in relation to their air-dates... You could follow the list below. After Episode 54 - Movie 1 After Episode 97 - Movie 2 After Episode 140 - Movie 3 After Episode 186 - Movie 4 After Episode 231 - Movie 5 After Episode 275 - Movie 6 After Episode 315 - Movie 7 After Episode 356 - Movie 8 After Episode 393 - Movie 9 After Episode 434 - Movie 10 After Episode 470 - Movie 11 After Episode 504 - Movie 12 (Watch Magic File 2 before this movie) After Episode 535 - Movie 13 (Watch Magic File 3 before this movie) After Episode 570 - Movie 14 (Watch Magic File 4 after this movie) After Episode 613 - Movie 15 (Watch Magic File 5 after this movie) After Episode 655 - Movie 16 (Watch Magic File 6 before this movie) After Episode 694 - Movie 17 After Episode 735 - Movie 18 After Episode 774 - Movie 19

Hello, This is my first post here on the forum so I apologize if I make any formatting mistakes. With 101 released volumes, there are now 101 characters featured on the back cover of Detective Conan volumes. Practically every single character that had at least some form of an impact on the story has their own keyhole, and then some. Several one-off characters get there own keyholes too: Haga Kyosuke (46), Bartender Lady (81), Vampire Maid Lady (79), etc. It's important to note that those were all "memorable" one-off characters. Aoyama is so desperate to find new keyhole characters that Vermouth appears four times: Chris Vineyard (26), Sharon Vineyard (35), Scar Akai (78), and Enomoto Azusa (90). Do you think that this scarcity of untouched characters will eventually reach a point where the course of the whole story shifts so that Aoyama can feature a new character? After all, every single keyhole character appears in the volume they are on (Even Okino Yoko in volume 17 (she's in one panel in the background of a thought)). Also, who do you think is next in line to get their keyhole? My bet is Hagiwara Chihaya. Finally, who do you think should get their keyhole ASAP? My choice is Itakura Suguru Here's a list of notable characters who haven't gotten keyholes yet: Hagiwara Chihaya Miyano Elena Haneda Kouji Korn Iori Muga Sonoko's Father Itakura Suguru Tsuburaya Asami Futoshi Ejiri Iwao Ida Nakamichi Inspector Momose Lupin (Suzuki Jirokichi's Dog) Kenzaki Osamu Sanada Takahiro Rum (without disguise) Karasuma Renya Miyano Shiho Tequila Pisco Numabuchi Kiichiro Phantom Lady Nakamori Aoko ... Alright, now that I listed them there might be quite a few left. But some of these characters like Futoshi Ejiri and Iwao Ida don't have a reason to return. What do you all think?

A little topic to tell why we all love Detective Conan (Case Closed) and what is SO great about this series. Personally, when I first discovered Detective Conan, it was by curiosity. I had finished watching another anime called City Hunter, which is great, and I wanted to find another series which was as thrilling as it. I knew Detective Conan by its reputation, but I thought it was the story of a little boy who outsmarts professional detective. How wrong I was ! I was litteraly captivated by the story and the strong characters of the series. The first investigations were a little too easy, but it became much more interesting and complex quickly. I love the idea of a detective story where the truth comes from a child's mouth, and the fact that tricks that deceived adults aren't able to fool "the little eyes of justice". Conan is much more than a character, he is a metaphore about guilt and judgement. In fact, the whole series is a metaphore of the fight between good and evil inside the society and inside each of us. Much of the murderers of the series aren't really bad people, they are much more victims of the merciless society who turns people into vultures and the innocents into killers. Their reasons to kill are understandable and we often feel sympathy toward them. They are just good people who take a wrong turn in life because of this crual world. In the way this world work, Conan represents the true justice, impartial and sometimes harsh. He has the most difficult role in each murder story because he is the one who can't sympathize with the culprits. He must confront them to their crime, no matter what their reasons are, and sometimes we can see clearly that he doesn't always like to do so, harboring some sympathy towards some criminals even though he can't close his eyes or substitute himself for justice. And, while most of the culprits don't regret what they did and think their actions by the "an eye for an eye" moto (while forgetting the "makes the whole world blind" part), when they are confronted by the look of a "pure" child, they truly realize what they have just commit and they express some remorse, ashamed to be seen as killers in the eyes of this child. So, while Conan is a kind of fighter of true justice, I also see him as a kind of angel guardian. While he comes to late to prevent the souls to be dirty, he is still able to make them redeem themselves, even though it might be already too late. He makes them realize that, even though bad things happened to them, they had still what was the most important: their souls. And that they lost it by themselves and can't take it back once lost. Regardless of their reasons, they are just the wrong kind of people. And I think this is an important part of Shinichi's evolution: it shows him another side of the culprits that the high-school detective couldn't have seen. Maybe that's why he feels some kind of sympathy for some of the culprits: because he starts to understand them, even though he can't forgive them for what they did. And, at the same time, in his role as a young seeker of the truth, he realizes that the true battle comes from the society itself that corrupt the human mind. But this is a fight no one can win and I think this is one of the most depressing aspects of the series. But I wonder if the war between Conan and the Black Organization couldn't be some kind of a metaphore of this fight for the society's soul. The Black Organization is pure evilness and the ultimate enemy of Conan. While his reasons to fight them are kinda selfish at first (he wants his real body back), they became more genuine after the death of Akemi Miyano, the moment when Conan decides to destroy the organization even after he has his body back. And the role of Ran is also important because, as Vermouth say, she is an "angel". As Kaori Makimura in City Hunter, she is some kind of guardian angel who brings love to those who have known and who gives them the determination to accomplish their goals. She is a pure woman, one who is able to touch the hearts of the wrong kind of people and who must absolutely be protected from the evilness of this world. No matter what, Conan cannot afford to lose her, she is the light that guides him and protects him, she is too precious. And I also find that reminiscent of Ryo Saeba, the City Hunter vigilante who didn’t have a true childhood, a former war orphan, and who discovers true love at the side of that woman who is both a mother and a lover for him (though he won’t admit it). A mother and a love, that’s also pretty much the role Ran also plays toward Shinichi/Conan, waiting for him while he can’t reveal his true feelings for her. Not yet… So, while it's a very cliché idea, Detective Conan (pretty much like City Hunter) is a story about how love can save a city from it's own decadence. I find the same kind of spirit between these two series, just different, and I think that's why I fell so much in love with Detective Conan. Because, while it’s not a love story, romance is pretty much at the core of the whole dynamic of the series. Conan is indeed a true knight who would put his life at stake to protect what is most important in the world: the love of a woman, a love which is for one but also for all. I also like pretty much the dynamic between Conan and the culprit. There is something of a mise en scène on both side: the mise en scène of the culprit that Conan must see through (well, it's a little strange, but the random killers in Detective Conan are all criminal masterminds. But, if they weren't, the storylines wouldn't be so thrilling), and Conan's own mise en scène to unmask the culprit and the trick used while protecting his true identity. Both tricks are based on deception and, in a way, there is a metaphore of the child who sees a magic trick and who tries to see through. And once he does, there is no longer magic at all and the "magician" himself becomes no more than nothing. Especially when Conan acts himself as a magician with his own mise en scène and, so far, only Heiji Hattori has seen through the "trick" of a detective mind inside a child body. For all those reasons, for me, reading Detective Conan is like watching Peter Pan. There is this magic and this wonderful story of beautiful and genuine feelings which is very reminiscent of childhood (while it's not really a story for children. It's like a universe caught between two ages, like the main character) and, at the same time, the story itself and its themes are universal. And Shinichi has still to uncover the greatest mystery of all: what is lying deep within the loved woman's heart ? As good a detective as he is, will he still be able to see through Ran's tricks to protect her hidden feelings ?

Your analysis of the old man looks promising. For the rest of the analysis, only time will tell I guess. Either way, the efforts need to be appreciated. The theory is interesting enough for holding my attention till the end. " This could be Gosho's strategic plan to subvert the readers' expectations by essentially flipping the script right on its head, which in my opinion shows great potential to beating the big twist of the very-beloved Vermouth arc. " I hope this turns out true.

Indeed, the exploration... the search of "wherein lies true nirvana"... kudos (*rimshot*) if you know where that line is from. Well, would you look at that... Shūichi Akai –> Shinichi Kudō Bourbon –> Makoto Okuda Subaru Okiya –> The Shirigami Scar Akai –> Shifty Kudō We even have the parallel of Shinichi and Shūichi taking on the identity of "a person who doesn't really exist", and Makoto and Bourbon stealing their identity—as well as the latter two's hatred for the former two over a misunderstanding. The only wrinkle would be that Makoto and his father also took on the identity of the Shiragami—well, Yusaku pretended to be Subaru, so that's the closest we can get to smoothing it over. Which brings me to the point of which cases. Sure, the concept of Muga actually being 35 has a basis, but that case's only connection to Muga is that it's a direct continuation of a doubleheader of cases (909–912, 913–917/808–809, 810–812) that happened to feature Heiji, (in which, yes, there was a moment where Shinichi/Conan thought of Kansuke as a model for Rum). But are those two connections really enough for you to go, "yep, that's no coincidence"? Because for me, I'd need more to be confident in that as you seem to be. Muga being Rum would resolve the potential problem of a mere butler coming off the way he did during his intro case, and reveal a deeper layer to many things, such as Shinichi/Conan deeming him a "Watson" to someone else's "Holmes." But while there's enough info and implication for me to put Muga at the top of the 4th suspect list, I'd need more info about Chikara—with that new info, I'd think he'd either surpass Muga or be ruled out entirely. Volume 101: File 1,070–File 1,080 Volume 102: File 1,081–File 1,091 Volume 103: File 1,092–File 1,102 Volume 104: File 1,103–File 1,113 Volume 105: File 1,114–File 1,124 My assumption is that there's at least one fairly pertinent development every 25 Files/3 Volumes (and by extension, every 50/75/100 Files). Assuming we're not launching into a big continuation after the 6 File case we just had, it'll probably be around 1,100 that we get another development/revelation.

My crush would be Haibara because of her situation. She had a sad and dark background full of pain. Yet, she still had the will to live, to fight on. She is always haunted by her past, yet she has not given up. I think that is what makes her so fearless and heartbreaking. Many times I wish I could step into her world give her a hug.

I do not really have an OTP for this show, at least not yet. I'm rooting for ShinRan though since I am vapid and like the idea of childhood sweethearts even if it is overused I can understand why there are so many ConAi shippers though. I think it is easier to like Haibara because we know more about her personal life and she is a more tragic/complex character. Ran is... not the most interesting character and her main purpose is to serve as Conan's lady love. I do like Ran more than Haibara though, but that is mainly because I am not really into the kuudere type (or any dere for that matter). I do like it when Haibara shows her concern for Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, Conan and Genta though

Hm...our wishes are the opposite then... Here's what I want: 1) Ran answering Shinichi's confession, his reaction to that, the couple going on an official date as a couple, they're getting married and having children... Basically,I want a super duper sweet ShinRan ending...oh and Mouri Ran changing her name to Kudo Ran and people calling her Mrs. Kudo (dream come true for Ran...and me hihi ) 2) Kuroba Kaito and Kudo Shinichi befriending each other after Kid and Conan take BO down to earth. You know,I just can picture Shinichi, Kaito and Heiji hanging out together like 3 good buddies... 'Being' 3 good buddies and of course, kaito has settled his revenge and no longer a Kid or maybe, he's still a Kid and have a friendly rival with Shinichi, they battle in the field but then still hang out the next day...now that would be epic! 3) A full DC-MK Crossover, even Ran and Aoko are friends...Just like ShinKaiHei, I can picture their gfs RanAoKaz hang out together, (don't get me wrong, I ship them as friends ) 4) Like everyone else, BO's history and a down to earth end for them ...I hope Vermouth and Bourbon spared cause Vermouth's nice and Bourbon's hot 5) A partner for Haibara and all the couples having a happy ending... 6) I expect an unexpected ending (if there is one ) from sensei, many fans are guessing the ending so I doubt this would happen... And many more that I can't remember at the moment...

Are you seriously trying to argue that a character shouldn't be killed off on the basis that their real-life counterpart wouldn't want it to happen? C'mon, man. I don't think people believe that. It's simply that when investing time into a story, folks tend to seek immersion - we read and watch fictional works because we want to relate to the characters and live out their adventures along side them. This is hard to do when the work itself lacks realism or authenticity. When characters are virtually invincible and any harm that might come to them is understood to be an arbitrary illusion for the sake of a spiel, the actions taken to both avoid and inflict said harm lose their meaning. If your characters continuously escape any and all threats posed to them, then said threats will eventually lose their power to captivate the audience, and once that happens, the story is robbed of its emotional impact. It doesn't matter how high the stakes are raised, because in the end, the hero always wins, and nothing of value is lost. That's why folks like tragedies - rather than present an emotional constant, tragedies offer characters whose survival/happiness is not guaranteed, and whose actions matter, which in turn means that the audience is invested in everything that happens. You're not just observing the plot, you're experiencing it. To say that an author lacks creativity for creating an actual story rather than a narrative stasis is delusional. Just to make this clear, you're degrading the work of the likes of Homer, Dante, Saavedra, Doyle, Harris - hell, just about any famous author. Claiming that tragedies are solely about destruction is contradicting the very nature of such works. Tragedies aren't just about death and decrepitude - they're about the creation of beauty, the sacrifice of the established, and the celebration of the flawed. Hamlet might have been a tragic story, but in the end it was an examination of the futility of vengeance and rage. The Odyssey might have told of a thousand deaths, but its purpose was the celebration of Odysseus' journey and the bonds that carried him through it all. You are oversimplifying and defiling one of mankind's greatest artistic achievements, and sloppily at that.

dumb? u mean stupid? she's smart compared with others except detectives and scientists. she's just a high school girl, not genius =0= btw if u mean dumb because she cannot figure Conan is Shinichi then i think that is Gosho's plan, i believe he is saving this for the right time, Ran will find the true when Gosho wants her too, now's not the time, it's not her fault. I think Gosho already has a plan about this and he wants this to be special.

well, what i think is going to happen at the end is... Haibara will get killed in a "war" against the BO, using her last breath she will confess her love to Shinichi, then he gets angry and fights his best untill they get the Org. down as a revenge for Haibara and her sis. then Ran and Shinichi marry and they get kids calling them conan and Ai :P well i maybe dreaming but i think shes gonna die
