Hello all, As you may have seen, the wiki has been down for a little while. Due to the captcha system having reached its end of life, I initiated an upgrade of the wiki platform. Things went great until I ran into some complications. I've been fixing them so far. Things should go back to normal sometime tomorrow. I still have a bit of testing to do regarding some of the issues. I'll keep you updated as soon as this is completed. As you may have seen, the site has also been refreshed: https://www.detectiveconanworld.com (the homepage may still change some more in the near future). The back-end has been upgraded as well to use some of the most recent technologies/versions (such as PHP 7, etc...). Thank you for your patience, Maurice

Hi everyone, As you may have seen already, the site's design was refreshed a bit: - We're now using new fonts throughout the site (besides the forum and wiki). - The main site is now responsive (mobile-friendly). - The homepage was revamped. The banner may change in the near future. - There's a new simple template of the Wiki's mobile version. Besides the design, the forum was upgraded to the latest version as well as the wiki (which required that I reworked some of the custom plugins for DCW, hence why it took more time than expected). The reCaptcha plugin was upgraded as well. I hope you like the changes. I apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience, Maurice

Hello! Thank You for visiting here. After a long time thinking, finally I decided to upload my drawings. So, here they are: Conan Edogawa - It is the still from the movie "The Last Wizard Of The Century". Kaitou Kid - I found the Kid's picture on google and decided to give it a try. DC - I took ideas from the manga covers, posters, movie stills, etc. Hope you like them.

The updates are almost over. There are a few minor issues that I need to address. Since it requires a bit of testing (due to the changes that come with the latest version of the Wiki platform), it might take another day or so. Thank you for your patience.

Hello, It went down by mistake. I wasn't even aware of it when it happened. It was an issue related to the domain name (and not the site itself). This was resolved as fast as we could (but there's always a delay with domain name issues unfortunately...). Sorry about that.

Hello. It's because I've been trying to fix some issues and I'm taking this opportunity to make a new update to the platform. I'll keep you posted. Thank you for your patience.

The topic was deleted by error. I was able to restore a backup. It is one of the oldest and biggest/most famous topic on the forum after all. A trip down memory lane and through DCW's history.

Hey guys I've always liked getting on the wiki and reading the episode synopsis' but lately it's been telling me to sign in...so I created this account (like 5 mins ago) and it's still not letting me in?? is there a time limit? Thank you for your help!

Hello everyone, I've been having a problem lately getting into the anime and wiki sections of this website. Every time I try to get to them from here by clicking on the tabs, it says error page not found, as it does whenever I click some of the other tabs. When I try to get directly to the wiki page through a bookmark I have saved, it tells me I need to sign in (even though im always automatically signed in) and I sign in anyway with what im sure is the correct username and password, even trying multiple options and it still tells me the same thing. This is a problem because I rely on the wiki in order to know which episodes are filler and get info on some things prior to watching them and I've been using this website for at least 2 years and this has never happened to me before. Is anyone else having problems like this or is it just me?

Ladies and gentleman, my procrastination level has reached a new peak. I'm downloading old episodes of DCWs Podcast to listen to \o/ Ayy that's great Machine. Working full time is a blessing after barely making ends meet working in retail... though I shouldn't comment on that, I only worked part time for a year before returning to freelancing

Hello and nice to meet you! You can call me Helvig. I started reading Conan sometime around 2006 and followed the series actively until 2013 or so, when I got too busy with studies and life to keep reading. Now after a pause of almost 10 years I've found myself back in this never-ending time-loop of murders and mysteries. I'm currently rereading the series at around volume 30, so there's still a long way to go. I've actually never read past volume 77 (since the scans were almost non-existent at the time) so I'm eagerly waiting for when I'll reach content that is new for me. Not sure how active I'll be on the forum (is the forum even active in general..?), but I'll see if I can do something to help with the wiki. It's such an amazing resource, well done everyone who has contributed!

To me it seems that the younger brother is planning to use the bombs to kill the three men, most likely because he blames them for his brother's death.
  18. 2 points
I'm don't know if the brother killed the manager of the farm. But I do think that he was the one who put him in the bed. The corpse was lying on the bed under a cover with his eyes closed. But since he was strangle and the bed seems to be placed in a corner, I think it's unlikely that he was strangled while lying down in it. The fact that he was placed in bed after his death suggests that someone showed him some last respect. And that would most likely be the younger brother. It's possible that the manager comitted suicide by hanging and his brother found him, got him down and placed him in the bed.

Here's a general guide. Movie 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 all have an "OVA" labeled as "Magic Files" to go before or after each movie. After Magic File 6, Episode 694, 735, and 774 were aired as preludes to the movies that year. They aren't really overly connected, but usually just had a bit of dialogue for the movie at the end of each episode. If the pattern follows, we should see the episode for M20 on April 16th.You could watch almost all the movies regardless of where they "fit in", but if you wanted to watch the movies in relation to their air-dates... You could follow the list below. After Episode 54 - Movie 1 After Episode 97 - Movie 2 After Episode 140 - Movie 3 After Episode 186 - Movie 4 After Episode 231 - Movie 5 After Episode 275 - Movie 6 After Episode 315 - Movie 7 After Episode 356 - Movie 8 After Episode 393 - Movie 9 After Episode 434 - Movie 10 After Episode 470 - Movie 11 After Episode 504 - Movie 12 (Watch Magic File 2 before this movie) After Episode 535 - Movie 13 (Watch Magic File 3 before this movie) After Episode 570 - Movie 14 (Watch Magic File 4 after this movie) After Episode 613 - Movie 15 (Watch Magic File 5 after this movie) After Episode 655 - Movie 16 (Watch Magic File 6 before this movie) After Episode 694 - Movie 17 After Episode 735 - Movie 18 After Episode 774 - Movie 19

Hi, I'm Periwinkle.. I am a Detective Conan fan from the Philippines! Watching DC is my happy pill, so I regularly watch and rewatch the episodes, movies, etc.. after work, on weekends, even when I'm feeling down/stressed; I would just watch DC episodes, and I'll feel better! I am already in 30s, but I'm a kid-at-heart.. I am not really into anime, but when I first watched a Tagalized Detective Conan (DC episode dubbed in Filipino), I fell in love into DC! I've been a DC fan since I was in my 20s, so I am a fan for more than a decade now... I've watch all up to the latest english-subbed episodes, movies, specials, OVAs, I am also into reading DC mangas (in English). I hope someday I could travel to Japan, and visit the places mentioned in DC, as well as buy DC merchandise..

Your analysis suggests that Gosho Aoyama has a range of options when it comes to introducing new characters or utilizing existing ones. By incorporating one-off characters, characters from longer cases, or those connected to recurring elements, he can keep the story fresh without running out of ideas. Additionally, characters that are somewhat independent from the main plotline can be reintroduced when needed to fill specific roles. You also mention the possibility of characters who haven't appeared in a while making a comeback, such as Shiho and Mary, and even characters who have appeared in minor roles in the past. This approach can help maintain a sense of continuity within the series. Furthermore, you discuss the concept of characters appearing briefly in a single panel, and how that might still count as an appearance. This level of detail showcases the depth of your analysis and understanding of the series.

I wanted to discuss this with someone for a while now, Furuya Rei is a good character who loves is country and ready to sacrifice his life for anyone who needs help and he does his best to provide information about the BO to the secret police department he works at, but he was ready to hand in Akai Shuuchi to the organisation he even told Vermouth about Conan's plan and it's all due to Vermouth being too scared to believe that Akai is alive and luck that the black organisation didn't know about Akai's fake death. Akai is known as the Silver bullet in the organisation and everyone of the BO code-named members know about him and is scared of him (except Gin) even the BO's boss and yet Rei was going to hand him over to the black organisation.

Good morning, everyone! My name is Zaya! I'm so glad I found this website <3 I'm a 19 year old medical training student, and I just got into DCMK at the beginning of the year! I just recently finished Magic Kaito 1412, and I'm on 54 of Detective Conan! Usually if I see spoilers, I end up forgetting, I have really bad memory ^^" Besides DCMK, I've been watching anime for 10 years, and I'm a huge gamer as well! Whenever I have the chance and have money to as well, I love to go to cons and cosplay, as well! Other things I love to do are photography, writing, and drawing! Thank you for having me, and it's nice to meet everyone! ^.^

Hello everyone, DCW will be going through a major server maintenance on June 25th, which aims at upgrading the entire server infrastructure. This should help speed up web requests as well as stay updated technology-wise. Since it's a big maintenance it may last the full day, possibly more. The forum and wiki will not be accessible during that time (maybe in read-only format only, not sure). I will post back here as soon as the maintenance is over. Thank you for your patience and cooperation! Maurice

I wish shinichi would end up with shiho. But i understand that in the end shinichi would likely end up with ran. Shinichi and ran always have this deep bound between their hearts, but i couldn't ignore the fact that the shinshiho relationship is getting deeper as the time goes. What i like most is actually how gosho aoyama put the love stories in a smooth manner. I like how everything's progressing especially for shinichi and shiho. And the fact that shinichi and ran already being a couple while it has not reach the final chapter yet, i kinda wish the ending would be different.

    > At the end of the case in the manga version, Kogoro Mouri is shown reading a newspaper article about himself because he helped the police solve the murder of the museum's owner. This marks the first claim to fame of Kogoro. In the anime version, this is replaced with a scene of the Detective Boys discussing about the aftermath of the museum, and their plan of investigating a case about a "moving skeleton" at night. Make sure to watch until the end please! ^^

RULES 1. Please use spoiler boxes until a full English translation is available. 2. NO DIRECT LINK to any Japanese scans (RAWs) or English scans (Japanese spoiler images are allowed as long as the amount and quality of which are very far away from a full scan). HOW TO USE A SPOILER BOX? Just simply type the following:
Text you want to write
1,039 spoilers are now out... in fact, all 16 pages of the file (albeit in very low resolution) are now out. Break next week—we can expect 1,040 spoilers at this time in two weeks. UPDATE: Here are text translations by Fujiwara and Anthony Lim:

The tradeoff for these longer breaks has been an increased pace and big developments—a healthier Gosho, taking us further headlong into the thick of things. Sounds good to me—and it has been pretty good, taking the past 13 months into account.

Rum didn't force his way into Amanda's room—that would've likely led to it ending up messy. If Asaka was standing outside Amanda's room, if Rum had just began by attacking Asaka, then he'd have to deal with hiding the body—and if Amanda didn't expect him, and noticed Asaka was gone or wondered why her bodyguard let this person in, the room might've become messy as Amanda panicked and tried to defend herself. If Asaka was standing inside the room, then Amanda would've likely noticed the commotion of Rum attacking Asaka, and if their fight spilled into the room from the doorway, Amanda's room could've ended up messy, also because Amanda might've reacted in panic to Rum. More likely, Rum was let in by Amanda and Asaka, neither of whom thought the former's life was in danger—if Rum was someone Amanda expected, why attack immediately and risk his intent being exposed immediately when he could just slip in casually and poison Amanda under Asaka's nose. In other words, Amanda was killed first, and then Asaka was attacked. If Asaka wasn't APTX'd, then Rum must've been distracted—likely by Kōji (Asaka Vs Rum might've been underway in the hallway by the time Kōji came into view, or he came into view of the room just in time to see the fight spill out into the hallway). I presume that and Tsutomu's interference bought time for Asaka to regain consciousness—Asaka probably regained consciousness to find Kōji dead. Presuming they'd be arrested, they fled the scene. Alternatively, Asaka could've been talking with Kōji, thus giving Rum the chance to go and kill Amanda unimpeded. Which then would've led to a fight between Rum and Asaka & Kōji. After knocking Asaka out, Rum immediately hurried to silence Kōji, since if he killed Kōji quick, he could prevent him from escaping, and then come back to silence the unconscious Asaka—silencing Asaka before Kōji ran the risk of letting Kōji escape. After that, Tsutomu intervention, Rum flees, and then Asaka flees.

This topic is pretty old and quiet but it's not too late to reply right? :DDDD Detective Conan was already aired in my country for some time during my childhood (2000s) so I already know the background of the anime. But one day when I was 10, I decided to watch from the first episode of Det. Conan. I was surprised with the old artstyle and the totally low quality (good streaming sites don't exist then) but I kept watching anyway. As a child, of course I would be awed about the complicated tricks and puzzles the anime provided. As I grew up I still follow the series and with more information about the anime leaked out, I dare to point out the reasons I will still put Det. Conan as one of my top anime. If you think they're wrong, fight me 1. The anime uses real fact and logic. MUST SEE! --> Gosho Aoyama Interview video [link] Aside from the anime often broke the laws of physics, this anime uses legit facts in their reasoning. Gosho Aoyama actually researched the facts in a wide range of aspects for the content of his manga/anime. Besides that, he also tests the tricks for the murders (idk how many times tho) before he actually writes them in his manga/anime so NO ONE has the right to say that his tricks in the anime are 'not logic'. Anyone remember when Conan and Reiko dialed the phone using their voices in movie 12? It actually works in real life! I wish I remember where to find the video though... 2. The artstyle I'm not sure about other long-running anime but I'm sure none has a gradual change in artstyle as Det.Conan. We know some long-running anime like Pokemon and Naruto that stick to one artstyle in a period of time before changing it (or maybe the change is not obvious enough, I'm probably wrong). I find it fascinating to see the change of the art slowly change as I watch the whole series. 3. The connection and complexity of the plot. Det. Conan fans know how Gosho always make the plot for an arc complicated. Especially in the current arc in the manga that connects with the old cases we won't expect to appear (don't worry no spoilers). I wish I could explain in detail but then there would be spoilers and I forgot most of the details because I'm currently watching Pokemon anime. 4. The balance I'm not sure if I'm looking this too deep but I feel there's a certain balance in Det.Conan. Like Vermouth who is the antagonist but is protective of Shinichi and Ran, proving that she is not heartless. Or Mouri who is a drunkard but is a really caring father to Ran. I don't enjoy watching anime if I could predict what a character does next and go "Oh, of course he does it because he's like that." I won't say that the characters have realistic personalities but I enjoy seeing two sides of a character that make us understand them better. Last but not least... 5. This awesome fan-base. (except those immature ones, including hard-core shippers) I admit that I haven't watch or been in Det.Conan community for a while but I really enjoyed my past experience in the Det.Conan fandom. I enjoy reading threads about fan-theories and some theories really amazed me. I mean, the possibilities are endless and it's fun to throw out opinions about a never-ending series. Besides, I'm glad that I don't see too much hate comments regarding 'new Det.Conan vs old Det.Conan' so I think this fandom is the best one I've been so far. Yeah... these are my reasons to love Det.Conan.

One of the users in the cBox referenced a theory someone had that she's possibly his daughter because her seiyuu also did the voice of the dictator's daughter in Gundam, however, if that's true, I wish Gosho would frigging stop it because in my opinion, the Gundam thing is getting old. It's gone from a reference to a full on ripoff.

These are certainly very virtuous traits, but they're also very generic. A decent portion of the non-murdering characters in the series fulfill these criteria to some extent or another, and there's nothing that really sets Ran apart. As for her stupidity and maturity - like I said, she's neither stupid nor immature because both of those qualities are constantly adjustable in her case. You seem to bring personal attachment up a lot, but just as you are attached to Ran or childhood friendships, so might others be attached to Ai or troubled pasts. Your love for a character is irrelevant in a discussion regarding the character's merits within the series. Do you really think it's adequate to compare the separation of ones parents to being born into a criminal lifestyle, orphaned at a young age, recruited into a criminal syndicate before you even hit puberty, and forced to work for your sister's killers under the threat of death? There are plenty of examples - on nepotism, on identity and belonging, on emotions, on appearances - but you could just her DCW Wiki page. I never implied any intrinsic purpose, I merely described Ran's roles in there series. The idea that any sort of fictional character yields any intrinsic purpose is inherently flawed, as the state of inherence denotes natural designation - something that this work decidedly lacks. You argument of intention is irrelevant, as it doesn't change the fact of significance itself. That said, while your views do sound like the antithesis of Barthes' stance, I don't think they hold any ground here, as the principle just doesn't apply - it focuses on the interpretation of subtext, not plot relevance. I don't think there's any way you could really doubt the existence of these values. Essence is realized in the discrepancy between the claims, actions, and thoughts of characters, presenting itself in the intellectual and emotional purity of a character. Necessity can be measured in the number of unique connections a character's presence within the story creates between otherwise independent entities. Finally, significance can be viewed as the number, eccentricity, and complexity of a character's intellectual/emotional contributions to the story. As I mentioned above, there are plenty of examples - on nepotism, on identity and belonging, on emotions, on appearances. Check her DCW Wiki page for more. There are countless instances of Ai solving cases before Shinichi, often demonstrating a deeper understanding of the culprit's thoughts and intentions in the process. She also yields far greater knowledge over a broad range of subjects, and tends to put far more thought into matters that require serious contemplation. The core issue underlying the organized measurement of intellect in real life is a result of the various variables in play - be it personal philosophy, education, organizational difficulty, upbringing, or local culture. These factors are either not present or not as prevalent in a work of fiction, which makes it much easier to measure established competence and/or intelligence. As for Ran - see my reply to Hobgoblin. Ran is only ever as intelligent/mature as the situation demands. Her personality is generic and her mental faculties aren't consistent. She's not a persona, she's a plot device.
