I've had a few users try to contact me directly through personal messages about spammers or simply post in a thread about them. This doesn't work very well and means it takes longer for me to realize there is a problem. The way the moderating system is set up, if you use the report option, all the moderators get a bright red warning with links to the thread and user that needs moderation and a description of why. If you message me individually, it looks like every other ordinary message. If you post about the spammers in a thread, I get no warning at all. So please, please, please, please use the report button in the lower right hand part of the post. Also, don't assume somebody else has already reported the problem correctly and wait for it to go away! In that last batch of 50 magic spams, I had absolutely no regular reports, just one person contacting by private message and a few wall posts. I didn't see those until much too late. Also, this advice goes for any sort of problem. Weird or suspicious posts? Use the reporting system. Want a mod to delete your accidental double post? Use the reporting system. It lets all the moderators know there is something that should be done all at once.

Posts fixed Hi! I dug around the Internet to see if I could get a full list of interviews Gosho has ever given so far, and this is the fruit of my work. (Lol you can see that Gosho usually gives interviews around April, probably for hyping up the movies.) Of these, I have the raws for Conan Drill, Detective Conan & Kindaichi Case Files, and the Monkey Punch & Aoyama Gosho talk from Endless Youth & Co. I'm thinking about translating them, but I want to make sure they're not translated already - so, I'm wondering if these three interviews are translated already or not? Interviews from other people EDIT: Copy & pasting some older posts I've made:

Depression... Depression really sucks. It's not a one day thing or a one week thing (at least, clinical depression isn't). Being depressed for a day or two (as long as you don't do anything rash) isn't out of the ordinary or too terrible. It's bad when it goes on for weeks and weeks and months and months. It's a lot of emptiness. I suppose it's different for everyone. Some people who go around talking about how much life sucks aren't really depressed, they just like to complain. Some people who smile and laugh and greet you cheerfully are depressed. It's really hard to tell. Someone can socialize and talk with friends and go home and give their parents a hug and then retreat to their room, lay down, and burst into tears. And you really don't need a reason to. Often depression is brought on by a particular reason, but as it progresses, I don't think you need a reason at all to continue. The reason why people cut, in my mind, is because at least that's a break from the emptiness. At least you feel something. Even if it's pain. Maybe that's why it's addicting to some. Not sure why I felt like writing this out but...depression isn't simple. It's so often romanticized in our culture and it shouldn't be. It's terrible. It ruins people's lives. Some people are even against people self-diagnosing because they feel like people treat it too lightly. There is a certain thing in our culture about how depressed people write the best or have the greatest stories to tell or how they need to be saved, but no. Depression's really not that simple. Not at all. And you really can't 'save' a depressed person. You can help them, certainly, but you can't save them. They have to save themselves. It's like how you can't force someone to live. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink, et cetera et cetera. So yeah. If you're depressed...find someone you trust. If it lasts for a while, go see a therapist. Listen to music that drowns out your thoughts and breathe. Depression's not simple or easy or romantic. But you can get through it. And if you're the friend of someone with depression...hug them. Listen to them. Don't say much. Really. As long as they can tell you're listening, you shouldn't have to. Just be there. And if you're genuinely scared they'll hurt themselves, call an adult or a helpline.

I was thinking of a special "search section" that compiles a list of episodes with certain characters in them (I am aware that there is an "appearances" section of the wiki) Ex. Maybe someone wants to find episodes that have both Vermouth and Yukiko in them. This person could enter those names into the search and these episodes would pop up: Episode 190: The Desperate Revival (The Third Choice) (Note: Disguised - Araide) Episode 191: The Desperate Revival (The Black Knight) (Note: Disguised - Araide) Episode 272: The Secret Rushed Omission Episode 341: The Secret Hidden in the Bathroom (Part 2) Episode 345: Head-to-Head Match with the Black Organization: A Dual Mystery on a Full Moon Night (2.5 Hour Special) Episode 701: The Jet-Black Mystery Train (Departure) Episode 704: The Jet-Black Mystery Train (Destination) Episode 706: Bourbon Figures It Out I feel like this would be convenient especially if they might have to dig through a list of characters that have an extensive number of appearances (like someone who wants to find episodes with both Sonoko and Heji in them) or if someone needs to find episodes that contain more than two preferred characters (ex. someone wants to find episodes with Vermouth, Yukiko, and Shinichi in them) Creating a search like this would be time consuming, so obviously, please don't feel obligated to make this. Having this kind of search isn't a life or death situation but it would make searching for episodes a bit easier.

It seems there was an interview we overlooked from this year from March (part 1) 2014 and April (part 2) 2014 edition of the Monthly Conan Newspaper: http://meitanteikonanplot.blogspot.in/2014/03/special-post-two-part-1-interview-with.html http://meitanteikonanplot.blogspot.in/2014/04/special-post-two-part-2-interview-with.html Highlights are... • Fusae Campbell is not the boss. • One of the goals of the Black Organization is control of a lot of money, and not as much world domination. • Confirmation that men's Black Organization codenames are distilled alcohols, and the women are named after "sweet alcohols". Codenames are done that way because it is cool. • Gosho "talks" through characters like Haibara and Kogoro. • Extensive description of Gosho's process for how he comes up with tricks. • How involved Gosho is in the anime and movie creation process. (Fairly involved) • Gosho's lifestyle and how busy he is. • Gosho's chair spinning superstition • Gosho talks about sports he likes

Interview in Conan Drill from 2003 translated! No spoiler on the plot here, though there are a lot of interesting tidbits. Note: I took a lot of liberty with the English this time, since I wanted to focus more on making the English sound natural and readable. I usually try to translate as directly as possible, but I realize that the weird English probably turns off a lot of people – let me know if I've taken too much liberty, though. Also, Gosho says a lot of things here that he mentions in future interviews, like how he was told to change Conan's name to Doyle since there was a work called Future Boy Conan, directed by Hayao Miyazaki. You kinda realize that interviewers keep asking the same questions, maybe because they don't bother looking over past interviews, ha ha. Highlights: The plot for conan was planned in two weeks Gosho is not "high-strung / neurotic" - he seems pretty laid back Apparently, in File 125~, the dude pays the gal to be his lover Gosho has an editor who is from Kansai, and looks at DC's Kansai-ben – this makes sense, I've read people on 2chan talk about how young Kansai people these days don't say "ame-chan" (Files 778-780), but since Gosho gets coached on Kansai-ben by an older guy, the Kansai-ben in DC is rather dated. Gosho has two younger brothers, one who's an engineer and another who's a doctor. The engineer helps Gosho with tricks related to cars, and the doctor helps Gosho with medicine-related topics, like APTX. The doctor is also an anime otaku who advices Gosho about which voice actor should voice whom. Gosho also seems to have connections who are former police detectives, people working at banks, CSIs, etc. Gosho decided when he started that Conan won't cry Gosho only draws characters with names, leave backgrounds and characters without names to assistants - does that mean that the forensics dude who wasn't Tomo-san in File 756-758 will become important someday?! Lol I dunno. Maybe you guys knew this already, but apparently Paikaru/Baiganer isn't a real brand of alcohol – the name comes from a character in Lupin III.

Well, I do hope that some of us will care. ^^; I think that the interviews are interesting, since you can see what Gosho prioritizes when he draws the manga - you also see the business side of drawing manga, which I think is valuable information. Besides, I think that the lack of info on Gosho's interviews over here is a serious problem. We can see the movies, the anime, the manga, and a lot of other things, but you can't really find the interviews anywhere. We keep hearing about spoilers about what the manga will be like in the future, but we can never get any evidence anywhere. I get frustrated with that, at the least. EDIT: Aaaand another one . . . The Kindaichi & Conan creators interview. That's all the raws that I have, aside from Conan Drill. This interview shows Japanese culture well, I think, as well as the priorities Gosho has when it comes to drawing manga. No real plot spoilers in this one, but it's a good read, I think. I've taken much more liberty with the translation this time around, in order to make the English a little more readable. Let me know if I've taken too much liberty, or if I've blatantly mistranslated, or something . . .

Translated the Aoyama & Monkey Punch interview from 2009! Nothing about DC's plot is revealed, but interestingly enough Aoyama says that he ran out of ideas by the third chapter of DC and didn't think that the series would last past one volume ha ha. One interview down . . . As always, let me know if I made a translation error, or if the English is confusing.
