File 010 - An Advantageous Shadow
Gadgets introduced
Conan start his first school, as 1st grader Conan, getting bored in 1+1 mathematical class. During outdoor activity session, he try his new gadget Professor Agasa gave to him earlier (Power-Enhancing Kick Shoes) using moderate power while playing soccer. To his shock, as well as his classmates, the ball shoot through net and knock over one big tree.
On his way home, he finds Kogoro shadowing someone. After 3 days, Kogoro receives 500,000 yen wage. That night, a hot news suddenly announced on television, stating that Masaki, age 42 was murdered in fire of some festival. Masaki is the target that had been followed by Kogoro.
File 011 - A Perfect Alibi
Upon hearing the news, Kogoro, Ran, and Conan went to the police station. There, they met the person who hired Kogoro to tail Negishi, who is Yutaku Abe. He received 500 million yen as an insurance policy for the death of Negishi. He said that his reason to hire Kogoro was that Negishi have been babling about his life being in danger lately. Although all the clues points as Yutaku as the murderer, he has a perfect alibi and that is being out of the country. After reaching the Mouri Detective Agency again, they started investigating the case by looking at the photos of Yutaku's trip and those photos Kogoro took while tailing Negishi. In the midst of that, Kogoro started suspecting Conan but he mixed all the photos together which drove Kogoro away from that thought. But soon later Conan noticed something about all the photos.
