We received a few requests from people wanting to have access to the episodes (and movies, ovas, etc...) lists even though videos still cannot be viewed at this time. These requests seem reasonable since the lists would be used for informational purposes only, at least for the time being.

I cannot yet affirm how this whole Watch section will turn out but I wouldn't be surprised if it changed even further in the future (maybe for the best? and hopefully not for the worst...).

Anyway, do enjoy this new addition, well, "old-new" I should say. :P
The other cool thing is that the chat box is also present in that section which I'm sure many of you will enjoy and/or find practical!

As you could have seen, the website has been down for the past few days. We've run into some issues and had to change host. As you probably noticed as well, the Watch section is currently unavailable. It seems that the site was becoming a little too "popular" for the "important" people and a DMCA was filed to our host regarding DCW. It seems that even though the videos are hosted on Youtube, the fact that we're linking to them on the site is enough to shout copyright infringement...
Which is really odd judging by the activities of many popular anime and drama sites who openly embed 100x more videos! (including DC ones). My guess is that the site was ranking really well in Google (maybe too well?) and was attracting a lot of fans. If it was not that popular, I'm pretty sure we would not have had any issues to date.

Therefore, I regret to inform you that the Watch section will be unavailable until further notice. I hope we can come up with a working solution in the future but I cannot promise anything at this time.

I do believe that the Wiki is still one of the main features of DCW and as long as this stays, DCW will remain true to its goal of becoming the ultimate DC resource on the net! And I will keep working as hard as I can on improving and turning this site into a true DC reference and a great place for DC fans to hang out!

I understand if you wish to stop supporting the site now that there are no more videos to watch but we will still always appreciate any support you wish to provide. You're more than welcome to stick around with us and show how big and strong the DC community can really be. The wiki, although far from complete, is right now the most comprehensive and complete library there is on the net about DC. We, at DCW, are really proud of how it turned out and that's definitely something big and worth sticking around for. And the more contributors, the merrier! :P

To finish, I plan to add more features to the site in the future. So, watch out for them. ^^

Since the scripts were sending a lot of emails, I do believe those activities were most likely the cause of all the recent issues we've been having regarding email notifications not being sent. Normally, this problem should be fixed as well now.

Many of you have already heard of this, but consider the following:
Funimation is going downhill. Yes, it is horrible. They may discontinue the release in the US (I think it's nice to be able to compare the Jap and Eng versions of DC) unless the purchase of Case Closed spikes dramatically. I am Buying all Season Box Sets, All of the Movies, and even the upcoming game for the Wii (It has Been Delayed as of December 31st). So Support our country! Let's try to keep Detective Conan/Case Closed in the US!

This time, I put the (X) as my mark. I hope it won't bother you. (X) comes from the first letter of my username, Xevar.

Note #2: I apologize if I can't add the images in the topic. It ain't actually necessary for a review but it's pretty great having an image added. If you want to view it, I'll have to redirect you to my blog: Obaka-chan.

Note #3: I found out that most of the popular anime reviewers are known for their "images" added, their originally written plot summary based on an episode, and their great (good, bad) impression. If I may not be near to them, I apologize but that's my current aim, to be a great anime reviewer.

Note #4: If you dislike the font, I can't do anything about it at all. I prefer using the Verdana font, and I kind of find it neat when it's reviewing.

Note #5: I can't immediately add the images since it would take me time. Normally, it would be done the day later but I'll make an exception in Conan. I wouldn't add the images immediately but I will surely add them a few hours later.

Note #6: I don't actually like to edit the Wikipedia of Detective Conan so if you want to, you can make this as your basis.


Detective Conan - 557 (X) Review

Plot Summary:

Edogawa Conan was left at home; Ran and her father was busy. As Conan was being comfortable at home, Professor Agasa suddenly called him because their car suddenly stopped and something went wrong so they happen to call a towing truck for it to be carried back and have them stop at the bus stop but unfortunately for Agasa, he lost his wallet somewhere. Agasa asked if Mouri Kogoro could give them a ride towards home but he wasn't there so Conan thought up of the idea to have Okiya Subaru fetch them. Ai immediately took the phone and denied the idea of having them fetch due to his suspiciousness.

Fortunately for them, a car came with two people in it, a woman with sunglasses and a hat, and a man with a coat covering half of his face with his unshaved hair. They were invited by the woman without telling the man who was asleep. The woman, who was telling them to go in, said a strange line about the back being packed. Afterwards, Ai notices that there are holes matching bullet holes and a recently cleaned car but with blood stains between the seats. As they just got in Tokyo, they met a traffic. They continue to chat and seemingly, they are interested in Conan and went to the Detective Mouri Agency. As Agasa was about to say something about their relationship between Mouri, Ai stops her from doing so, and acts as though she suddenly felt sleepy and tired. The woman suggested them to sleep while they are in a car because it will take them time.

When Ai and Agasa pretended to sleep, they overheard their conversation about half-killing and overkilling. After hearing those words, they assumed that they are a dangerous group. By shock, the woman noticed Agasa awake and assumed he was listening to their conversation with a glare look. In a sudden, they guy also made a strange line to fly back. It surprised them a lot what those words meant and riding in a dangerous group.

They got on a diner after making their minds. As the two of them with Agasa talked, Ai was excusing herself to go the bathroom where in fact, he was going there to make a call to Conan. Conan was worried and had to go there with his skateboard. He told them to make a "bad" excuse and surely, they are smart enough to uncover the excuse made up by Conan so that they can hide for a while.

Agasa and Ai hid in the men's bathroom. The man knocked on every stall and asked them to talk. When it was their stall that was coming up, they asked Conan what to do. Conan made another crappy idea to have Ai shout like an adult in the men's bathroom. With a follow-up plan, Conan asked them to escape through the window but seemingly, it was all planned out. The woman was already guarding the outside and the man just came. Conan also made a strange line telling them to just surrender and give up.

When Conan reached to that place, it was as though they were betrayed by him but actually, the two of them were police officers and were worried that they would escape without going back to their home. The woman told them that she as wearing dark glasses to hide his bruise when they were up in a fight with a suspect so as with the man who had damaged himself right above his forehead.

When they came to the Detective Mouri Agency, it was actually them asking for help to solve the Mystery of the "Red Wall" but they actually are ahead for Conan with his sharp mind.


Impression:

This is one of my favorite episodes after reaching this far! The twist was really great telling us that they were actually a "dangerous" party. But hey, even you can think that they are that suspicious with that kind of clothes they are wearing.

So, this is somewhat a conclusion that this is an introduction to the Mystery of the Red Wall (4-part episode). Anyway, it is surprising that I was this thrilled because, normally, when I watch a Detective Conan episode, I would slouch in my chair and listen to it. As it gets more thrilling, I straighten myself a bit from time to time but this one's different. Halfway through the episode, it thrilled me a lot making us think that they are part of the Black Organization especially knowing that they are as sharp as them.

When they came to the Detective Mouri Agency, I found it unusual that his voice changed. I just remembered that the voice actor was changed so it was like that but hey, it was somewhat near his voice and it's pretty cool with me. Great debut.

Also, the confirmed cast of characters involved are Conan, Ran, Kogoro, Sonoko, Agasa, Haibara, Megure, Chiba, Sato, Takagi, Jirokichi Suzuki, the Detective Boys (Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta) and KAITOU KID!!

PLOT: Jirokichi Suzuki, Sonoko's uncle, invites Conan, Ran, the Detective Boys, and others to ride Bell 3, the largest airship in the world, for a six-hour trip to Osaka. However, Kid has his eyes set on the Lady of the Sky jewel aboard the vessel. Also, the mysterious terrorist group known as Red Siamese Cat hijacks the airship itself.

The first one is a poster of... KAITOXRAN?! WTF?! PLEASE tell me this isn't what I think it is. -_- I REALLY hope the Kaitou Kid portions don't go down the too predictable for a show like DC route that it looks like it's going to go...

Also, here's an image featuring what is assumed to be the movie poster, including... Haibara being slapped! A ridiculous bunch of goofs in costumes, that are presumed to be the movie's villains! And... new gadgets for Conan?!

My thoughts? This movie looks like it's going to be a brutally lame dissappointment.

I gotta be honest, from the posters, this movie really doesn't look very promising. On the first poster, those Biohazard people look completely ridiculous and goofy. And the second poster... it's a cute teaser, though will be an incredible predictable piece of plot if something similar to that really DOES happen in the story.

Me, personally, I envision the second poster to be something like in Movie 13, where Conan had that nightmare that Gin had grabbed him and said, "Edogawa Conan... no... KUDO SHINICHI!" Probably something along the lines of that. At least that's what I hope, because to be honest, they better not go THAT certain route, like "Oh no, Kaitou Kid has his sights on Ran!!!" I mean, it's an AO movie, so it wouldn't surprise me if they were to completely ignore the whole KaitouxAoko thing. I don't understand people... -_-

So, what does everyone think? Your thoughts on the title, the posters, the presumed to be main villains? The fact that the Detective Boys and Ginzo Nakamori are apparently NOT going to be in this film (They were not listed in the confirmed cast.)?

From the looks of the trailer, I'm not going to get much out of this one. ESPECIALLY if they truly decide to go and make it that Kaito suddenly forgets Aoko and decides to go and make a move on Ran... that to me alone would kill the movie, let alone the ridiculous looking bad guys. -_- Definitely NOT looking forward to this one. Not even the awesomeness that is Kid is making me all that interested, especially with the out of character plot development via the movie poster with Ran and the trailer.

We really haven't had a REALLY good Detective Conan movie since Strategy Above the Depths, honestly. The Raven Chaser was such a brutal disappointment to me, and that looked REALLY cool. This looks like it's going to be completely ridiculous. I feel like now every Detective Conan movie has to add some sort of completely hokey plot to it.
